Fancy That is very close to our son’s apartment so we gave it a try for breakfast. Food was good, staff was friendly but forgot the ham in one of the ham omelettes, forks for the table… things like that. Coffee was OK.

Stopped by for lunch after seeing the special. It was roast beef, green beans, roasted potatoes and a roll. It was awesome. The roast beef was moist and juicy. Cooked like a pot roast perfectly. The green beans were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The potatoes had a slight crust and very tasty. I have also had the burger here which is very good. This place is off the beaten path but reasonably priced and worth a stop!

I stopped by here for lunch the other day and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and took the time to serve you even though it was a little busy. This place is very convenient to Main St. and the hospital so it gets a little busy around lunch time. We got the Fried Green Tomato BLT and the chicken salad plate. Both were okay, but nothing to write home about. The tomatoes were a bit too bready and not thick enough but the bacon was perfect and the sauce was delicious. The chicken salad just needed some pepper — but was pretty good. Those around us who had ordered burgers gave me some order envy as they looked delicious. I also noticed this seemingly breakfast and lunch only place is open until about 8p on the weekend and has some pretty fantastic alcohol prices — A bucket of imports for less than $ 20, YESPLEASE. I’ll definitely be stopping by this place again! UPDATE: 8÷5÷15: I went back today and got the steak and cheese — it was very good. The«heat sauce» which one of the gentleman makes there is spectacular and possibly the best sauce I’ve ever consumed. It’s delicious. The only thing I would change about the sandwich would be the bread — it wasn’t bad, but being from New England I yearn for crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside Italian bread. Still — it was delicious!

Fancy That was wonderful! Off the beaten path of Main Street, and they have Champagne for mimosas. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with mustard based sauce, it was delicious! I chose fried okra as my side and that was even more on point.

This is a nice little place to grab a meal. The atmosphere is very homey, you definitely get the impression that your food is made home style with love. While I was in the restaurant I saw they have many regular customers which is a good sign. The special of the day goes very quickly, I did not order it but I did notice that they had run out of it before 1PM so if the lunch special sounds good to you make sure you get it in time! I ordered the hamburger basket and my burger was cooked well done and it was not at all greasy like some fast food burgers are. The again, this is not really a fast food place either, so… The fries are thin style and nicely lightly seasoned with herbs. I enjoyed my meal. The dining area is adorned with pictures relating to Columbia, with turn of the century photography of the State House and local landmarks like USC. The tables are very sturdy wood and the seats are very cushioned. The service is very friendly as well. I will be sure to return to this nice café.

Great breakfast right next door to the Marriott downtown. Breakfast sandwich and home fries were awesome. Well worth the 2 minute walk from the hotel.

We saw a sign a block away that read $ 4.99 breakfast special so we thought we’d give it a try. Wonderful surprise! The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Very laid back atmosphere. Nothing special, but a great value for a quick bite.

I eat here weekly because it is so convenient to my office and such a great value. I absolutely love their bbq on Fridays, and their hamburger steak is delicious. It is a typical greasy spoon feel, but is always packed at lunch and has a great home cooked feel. The staff is always super friendly, and it makes you want to come back!

Right next to the Marriott. Got a cheap good breakfast. Not much to the place and not much to the breakfast menu, but my French toast and sausage was good. 3 pieces of small French toast was perfect for me. The people are very nice too. May try lunch there tomorrow! If you’re looking for a place that gives you enough to feed an army, like Cracker Barrel, this is not the place for you. They are simple and good.

I was tickled to find a spot so near the Marriott to pick up a breakfast that wouldn’t break the bank. Ordered 2 orders of French Toast, which seemed quite reasonable at $ 4 something each, but after by 10 and 11 year old traveling companions ate them, they were still hungry! Portions were too small– it’s bread, people! No need to be stingy. I had to go out and find them a second breakfast.. . While I’d prefer to patronize the local guy, next time I’ll head to Atlantic Bread Co. around the corner.

Best $ 4.99 Lunch Special in town. My favorites are the Monday Chicken Pot Pie and Thursday Hamburger Steak with Fresh Squash Casserole. Everything always taste fresh and is fantastic. They also have $.99 desserts like brownies and cookies.
