Far Out Field is not that far out, but nobody really calls it that, they call it by its old name. First-Hand Experience: Info on my personal visit to this stadium — after watching a baseball game with my friends in Columbia on a day when my concert was canceled, I had them show me around the town and the campus, and then they brought me to this stadium. I was pleasantly surprised by how absolutely enormous it is. I liked it a lot, although I do think it’s in need of some renovation. And the tailgating isn’t great — I found this out the second time I was in Columbia. Nevertheless it’s a stadium that the town can be proud of, and was a nice experience. I’ve been to every cool stadium in the UK& North America, due to my obsession with travel & sport. I’ve toured America as a musician for 7 or 8 years. In that time, I’ve seen sports games at, or visited when empty(and usually both), at almost every major stadium in US and Canada. I have pictures of most which I will upload at some point. Also, on future travels, I plan to take new pix, and add more stadia! Watch this space! ***back to regular review*** This is where Mizzou play, it’s big and it’s bright yellow and it dominates the sports scene in Columbia, MO, except for the basketball, which sort of dominates it more. It has a 72k capacity and is a really great, yellow and blue stadium, but it doesn’t have as intense of an atmosphere as some of the other big college stadiums for some reason. The stadium feels smaller than it is.

This is probably not an unbiased review as I grew up going to football games at Faurot Field. I moved away, came back to KCMO area, married a Mizzou fan and we started attending games several years ago with our children. Tons of awesome(and not so awesome) memories at this field. The tailgating setup is not superb. If you are a Mizzou fan, you know that you are going to most likely have to walk a bit if you want to attend a game. It’s not usually a big deal as the last home game is Thanksgiving weekend, so it’s not bitter cold yet. However, the walk is part of the tradition. There have been numerous changes to the stadium over the years. We are getting ready for another big addition as being part of the SEC now. The food choices are fine — I always get the kettle corn — and the lines are usually long. What do you expect? Getting around the stadium is not that bad. There are numerous entrance/exit points and they have cleared out the area around the jumbo-tron so you don’t get traffic clog there anymore. I love this stadium and the guys who play on the field. Go Mizzou!!!
