ugh, I wish the scaling system was more specific. The food was fresh, it was hot, it was prepared only after ordered, I would give it a 5 in that area. The place was also clean and bright. However, this is the Japanese food that is dumbed down for people who HATE trying anything new and are extremely picky.
As an introduction to Japanese, maybe it’s great, but I guess I’ve graduated to at least middle school Japanese food? It lacked the umami, the savory, the complexity that comes with dishes I’ve tried most other places. If you’re all about meat and rice and large quantities of «japanese» mayo, this is your spot. God, I sound like such a snob, but I just don’t know a better way to put it. If you’re cautious about branching out, try it. It may be a good place to get started.

Having been here multiple times, their quality is second to none. I love their food. It’s a scary amount cheaper than Satos and other Japanese steakhouses/​hibachi sit downs. Those other places are great but when you don’t want to engage in a hour and half dinner and want to catch your nightly show, Hibachi Express is the way to go.
I will go here time and time again. Agree with the other poster better than Tokyo grill: less commercialized.

My daughter and i love this place. Its a tiny little hole in the wall, but the food is delicious. Better quality than you get at many of the big sit down places like Sato, and half the price. They cook everything when you order it. No food sitting around (except the rice sitting in the cooker). Speaking of the rice, its brown and super moist. The sauces they use are yummy and not too salty like a lot of hibachi places are, especially the white shrimp sauce. There are a few tables if you want to stay and eat, otherwise get it to go. Not much on atmosphere, but full of flavor.
A hidden gem! 1000 times better than Tokyo Grill.

I don’t know why anyone would not find this place fantastic. The amount of food for the money is unbelievable. I would put even with Saki’s or Yamato except no show. My son and I eat there all the time. Try it and you will see.
