Kaldi’s Coffeehouse is one of those places people recommend because it is a good location and a cool-looking place. The coffee tastes the same, no matter what kind it is. The employees are very friendly and their pastries are to die for. Breakfast is good, too. However, this is not a coffee shop for people who know coffee, plain and simple.

My wife and I came to visit my daughter at MU this weekend and stopped in at Kaldi’s. The vanilla latte and the mocha that we had were excellent. I also got their whole wheat blueberry scone. Typically, most scones are dry and not very flavorful. The whole wheat blueberry scone we shared was moist, with whole blueberries baked inside. It was fantastic! Looks like we found our favorite coffee shop!

I went here three times yesterday no joke and all good experiences. Came by for breakfast and had their egg white breakfast burrito. It was healthy and decently made. Lacked in flavor a bit but it’s also an… egg white burrito. The salsa that came with it has a nice kick to it. The staff was super friendly and made me a custom drink when I wanted a matcha latte with an extra shot of espresso. I get this often and it was delicious here. The guy behind the counter even poured it so it made a pretty flower in my cup. He and his coworkers had a good laugh about it and it was funny. The plain espresso came out really nice too. Good presentation. 5 stars!

Each kaldis has its own personality thanks to the excellent taste of its decorator. They are similar but unique in their own way. Having been to many of the other locations I can say I like this one. Neat place with sections. Sit at the bar, at a table to work or a couch to chill. The coffee is solid. Baristas are trained well. Cups seem consistent here. Got here at 7 am and the scones were still warm. Positively mouth watering. If you are looking for a place to work, they also have outlets for computers. Not a lot of them but they have them none the less. Traveling across the country you begin to appreciate the space and comfort of Midwest coffee shops. Also the friendliness of the staff makes it feel like home.

Great coffee with a nice selection of different roasts. I had originally gone in to buy a bag of espresso. They didn’t have the espresso I was looking for on the shelf and the barista was kind enough to make up a bag for us. This is one of the first shops I’ve seen that offers different roasts of espresso when you order. Great coffee shop with excellent service!

This was an awesome suggestion of a relative when I was visiting Columbia. What a great coffee spot! The company is located in the lobby of a building but has a great spot and very nice décor and vibe. They have a great variety of food options and excellent coffee. I ordered an iced mocha and sausage breakfast sandwich. They have a bit of a twist with this as there is no cheese and they also add dijon mustard. It gives it some really nice acidity. They have a TV and ample seating options throughout the establishment. They also were offering cupping classes to learn more about coffee. I will be going back here on my next trip to the area.

My first visit to Kaldi’s in Columbia was a good one. Two of us split a turkey and avocado sandwich, a 24 oz vanilla latte and a 24 oz Americano, which came to about $ 20. The portion size and quality of the food and drinks was excellent. I can see why this place is popular — it’s sunny and comfortable inside with plenty of healthy food options and quality caffeinated drinks. I plan on returning during my next visit to Columbia.

I only ever order a vanilla latte, I don’t like any other kind of coffee. But Kaldi’s, as much as I enjoy the atmosphere for studying, I’m not ever ordering a coffee(or pastry for that matter) from you again. Every single time I’ve come to order coffee, it’s been burned. Every. Single. Time. The last time I was here, the coffee was so burned as to be undrinkable. I had to send it back and the return was barely adequate, I got to the bottom and, guess what, burned again! This is subpar coffee creating, I’d rather drink cowboy coffee(for the rest of my generation, means you strain the coffee with your teeth) than a vanilla latte from Kaldi’s. Waste of $ 5

We went there for a small dinner on a Saturday night and they didn’t have half the things on the menu. I ordered the grilled cheese and they only had one type of cheese that wasn’t suppose to be on the menu and they came back to me again and said that they only have one type of white bread left. The iced tea I ordered was super expensive and wasn’t that great. They did feel bad so they gave us a free drink. I probably won’t come here for dinner again.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned it yet, so I will — Kaldi’s has the best grilled cheese I have ever eaten. There is some sort of green herb spread that really separates their grilled cheese from ones I’ve had before. I don’t drink coffee hardly ever, but the husband and I will still come here for lunch for that delicious freaking sandwich. He loves their coffee by the way.

Kaldi’s is a great place to study! The prices are pretty good and the tea comes in a cute teapot and the hummus plate is tasty. The staff is friendly and the vibe is chill.

The earl grey tastes like soap. And the wifi was terrible. I had to leave, to post this because the wifi was so terrible.

We absolutely love Kaldis! We’re from Kansas City and really enjoy Broadway Café there. Kaldis is the closest we’ve been able to find that matches that caliber of coffee. Great service! Delicious coffee and pastries! Only wish they had a second location because this one gets very crowded.

Alright, Columbia Kaldi’s. You and I are through. Maybe the hipster kid who came outside and talked down to me like a toddler for sitting on their outside chairs was having a bad day, or maybe I’m having a bad day… nope, I’m not, I’m not at work and I’m enjoying a coffee from Lakota in bright, sunny, 70 degree weather in the town of my alma mater before I go speak at the business school. Life is good! Either way, when you yell at someone for sitting in the outdoor seating area five minutes after they sit down because they haven’t ordered something yet(was waiting on the wifey to meet me outside so she could take the dog and I could go spend MONEY inside your BUSINESS) it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. It is a taste that no amount of coffee could ever overcome. It is the taste of shit service. Some homeless guys were smoking on the patio and someone complained. OK, I get it, they haven’t bought anything and maybe they need to go elsewhere. Smoke smells like shit anyways. But you don’t kick EVERYONE out of a theater when someone complains about a Chatty Cathy. You kick Cathy out, because Cathy sucks. I don’t suck, I was just trying to not bring my dog into your establishment like a civilized human being. Was my suit wrinkled? Was my iPad not a new enough generation? Did I look like I couldn’t afford a $ 2 coffee? Did I look like THEMAN to you? If so, I get it. You’re raging against the machine and this was probably somehow ironic. If not, then learn to provide better service and maybe say, «Can I bring you a menu?» or «Would you like to order a refreshing iced tea?» Not, «This patio is for paying customers ONLY!» We are happy to go across the street where Lakota provides friendly service and equally delicious coffee. Also their wifi is free and you don’t have to ask for a damn wifi password every day. Good lord it is 2014 we don’t need to protect our wifi like the Mona Lisa. TL;DR This Kaldi’s service sucks. Go to Lakota and support a local business.

Good coffee and relaxing place to sit and study(i’d recommend morning and late afternoon). The lack of outlets available to plug in to are a problem so make sure to charge your electronics before going if you plan on using them.

I’ve been going to Kaldi’s for a long time. For a while, they had a lot of issues keeping fresh coffee in the morning, but that has gotten a lot better. This really is the best coffee in town.

I’ve tried out Kaldi’s a few times over the years, and I really enjoy it. I’ve had various basic coffees and teas, and a couple of their baked goods. All very good in my opinion. ***** I’m not a huge coffee snob, so it really comes down to comfort when it comes to cafes/coffeehouses. You don’t have to worry about feeling cramped, and various types of seating to suit every need. All very comfortable. *****

This is a great place to get some work or school work done. They have a lot of space, a lot of tables, and are open until 11pm, but it can get crowded on week nights and they have very few outlets. I have ordered quiche and the farmers market salad. Both were very good and the salad was large. I am looking forward to going back, I have heard their breakfast food is extremely good as well.

Really enjoyed our visit today. This is a bustling little coffeehouse with quite a nice and interesting breakfast and lunch menu as well. The inside was cozy with plenty of seating. We ate sandwiches — my husband, the turkey and avocado, and I had the mango chicken salad wrap. They were both good, although my husband said his could’ve used more avocado. My chicken salad had refreshing bits of apple in it, and I think was the highlight of the chicken salad. We both had iced mochas, and we liked. Usually we have a hard time finding coffee we truly enjoy, but this one was nice. Strong coffee flavor, not overly sweet but sweet enough. We are not locals, but if we ever find ourselves in Columbia again, we’d go back to Kaldi’s.
