This place is closed!!! Their number is disconnected, their website is down, and I couldn’t find the place. Unilocal should remove this.

This place has new owners. The old owners were shady. They tried to defraud my father after I recommended he tried out their food(charging his credit card for stuff from England? Really??) but they failed. Thank goodness for computerized algorithmic pattern deviation recognition!

After visiting the UK, I gained a taste for kabob houses and hoped I could find something in Suburbia, Maryland. If you’re looking for shawarma and falafel sandwiches, it’s here. The food is prepared on the spot and the whole kitchen is exposed for your viewing pleasure. I will give them props on sanitation; the shop is very orderly. They prepared my chicken platter with absolute care and wanted it to be presentable. The staff was friendly too! The shop has an atmosphere that’s an interesting combination of a dive and a proper sit-down restaurant. It’s personal like a dive, but orderly and professional like a restaurant. If I had to complain, the food was on the pricey side of things, like a dollar or two over. Granted, I did have ritzy goat cheese in my salad; one cube. One cube? Really? I know goat cheese is expensive, but isn’t one cube a tad stingy? Other than the cheese, the quantity of food was just fine. It was generous but I didn’t feel glutinous. The food was tasty; the rice was well cooked, chicken was tender, and the bread was soft. All the food met my satisfaction, but nothing in particular blew me away, which is disappointing because I want to be excited over this food, but I can’t. It’s the restaurant equivalent of a straight-B student. Overall, if you have money to burn, want a calm, personal atmosphere, and want to experience some middle eastern food, they’ll deliver just that.

Going into this establishment we thought we were in for some amazing kabobs after reading the reviews. I wont say we were wrong but it wasn’t all that. The place is cool and fast food like pick up or eat in joint. One of the Unilocalers definitely got it right though its not Turkish anymore its Pakistani but kabobs no less. Basically the Kofte kabob was the tastiest but all of the kabobs/doners were dry. I ordered the Lamb shank and it was good bit wasn’t bad. It was really just blah… bland in a tomato based gravy/sauce. With this though the meat was tender but lacking spices. All in all a decent joint and the highlights were the hummus and falafal. Still rather other places in the region.

The owner told me that this restaurant is modeled after similar restaurants in Europe. The small dishes are better than the larger dinners, but all are tasty, all are spicy but not hot spicy(not picante). The salad is marvelous. They serve unusual(to Americans) drinks, but they are all palatable to our tastes. The cooks are very anxious to please you in every way they can. And they will give you a very comprehensible explanation of any dish you may interested in ordering.

The people that work here are nice but the food is ok. They lost our order so I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to make it once I got there. Lots of room for improvement.

A meh kind of spot. We parked at the Kinder Care next door for Free Fest at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. We had to use the bathroom so we decided to buy some food so we would not pay the outlandish prices at the show. Our kebab was very dry and did not have much flavor but the fries were pretty. I’m not sure what else is in the Columbia area and how it compares but I know there are way better kebab joints in the greater DC area if you are willing to drive.

This is a small Turkish deli. There are only a few tables available for dining there. It is located in a business district of Columbia and does not appear to have much competition nearby. Generally, I think competition is good for business. In this case, if lack of competition means this place will stay in business, I applaud it. I have only been there twice so far. On my second visit, their receipt machine needed to be reloaded and both the teenager running the register and an adult that came out from the back had significant trouble loading the paper. Then when I tried to pay in cash, they did not have anything with which to give me change. The teenager was about to make a run for the bank when I swapped my cash for a debit card. These things are not significant enough to sour my review. Everyone has problems arise from time to time. They still brought out my food in a timely manner and at the time, I was their only customer. Therefore, their minor problems were not holding up anyone. The food was exceptional for the price and if you order a dish with sides, they give you choices. From your typical unhealthy fries, to a nice healthy side salad. My point is simple, great tasting food, healthy options, reasonable pricing. While you are there, check out some of the foreign«fizzy drinks» they have in stock. Another nice variety that adds to the charm of this place.

A small café-style Turkish place with incredible falafel, this tiny place will not disappoint lovers of mediterranean food! My boyfriend and I had a coupon for buy 2 sandwiches, get one free. He got a chicken sandwich with fries, I got a veggie sandwich with fries, and we split a falafel sandwich with the other side option– rice. We were also given a total of 6 little containers of their house made yoghurt and one container of spicy green relish or something that was too hot for me. My advice? Get the fries as the side! They are incredible. Also– best falafel ever. So. Good. Each sandwich w/side was $ 7.50 and a TON of food.

This little hidden gem right across from the Howard community college is a place you don’t want to miss. The food is top quality and made to order. My favor ate items are the pides(traditional style pizza) on fresh baked bread. The best thinv is they are not shy about using spices so if you come here prepare to eat something great

A great first taste! I ordered the Gyro and they made the pita right on the spot! It was a little dry since there was no tzatziki sauce but still very large and good! I would give it a shot the next time I’m there.

Excellent food, service and portions. My brother and I are big foodies and we LOVE Mediterranean food. We ordered hummus and Pita as as app and it was as fresh as you could ask for. They made the fresh pita right there when we ordered it. They pulled out the dough, rolled it and baked it. it was perfect. Hummus was also very fresh and authentic. nothing like you can get from the store. By the time the guy bought out our falafal we were pretty full,(well at least I was) and it was huge, warm and piping hot. It tasted amazing! It came with spiced fries that were unbelievable as well! Needless to say, we could not finish all of our food, so we took it to go to finish it later. Definitely check out this new hidden gem that Columbia has to offer! We will surely be going back for seconds ;-)

I don’t know if it was made with lamb and beef or, in fact«lamp beef» as the menu listed(which I assumed means, like, the cone of meat that is kept warm via a heat lamp), but the doner was good regardless. Even if it was a chopped-up sconce. Unbeatable prices and generous portions. The pita did seem a little rubbery, but perhaps that’s just the Turkish way of preparing it, as opposed to the more bready Greek kind. And they deliver!

I came here for the first time tonight, and it exceeded my expectations. I ordered the staple — lamb/beef doner — which was served on a plate of very yummy rice with salad. The meat was very flavorful. My husband ordered the chicken kebab platter, and the chicken was by far the best I’ve had — super juicy and tender. This isn’t a fancy restaurant by any means — but the food is great and super cheap.

I really liked this place when it first open earlier this year(under a different name). Easily a 4 or 4.5 star place for a low-priced, casual take-out kabob joint. However there has been a noticeable decline in the quality of the food since the name change. I mostly go for the Doner Kebab(which I fell in love with in Germany, döner!) which was moist and tender earlier this year. But these past few months has always been dry and slightly crispy. Doner is something at least unique to this restaurant as I don’t know of anyplace in Columbia that serves these. For any of the usual kabob fare I prefer to go to Maiwand Kabob just down the street. It’s great they have an enormous menu and a plethora of appetizers. Most of the apps are decent and it’s great to always have something new to try. Their bread is very chewy which I don’t mind on a wrap, but I don’t like it to dip into appetizers with. Their fries are pretty good thought! However they wrap their sandwiches in foil paper and cut it in half. This leaves all these silvery paper flakes inside the sandwich I have to fish out. Bleh. This place hasn’t been around very long and I’m very concerned about it’s downward trajectory.

A little hard to find, it’s close to Howard Community college and tucked away in a small plaza next to a bank. It’s a very casual place to eat with only 5 tables and you order from the counter and they bring the food out to you if you eat in. I ordered the baba ghanoush which is an eggplant dip and it was good but kind of bland so I added some salt and it tasted better. The pita bread was warm but didn’t have much flavor so I wasn’t a big fan. I ordered the doner kebap which is similar to greek gyro meat and it came with the yogurt sauce which was really good and the salad which was very fresh and more pita bread. I also tried the chicken doner kebap which was also pretty good. Both are thinly sliced meat and cooked on a vertical split and had good flavor. I was pretty full after the meal. I think most people here get takeout and it’s nice that they deliver for free. Overall, not a bad place to get some mediterranean food but not one of my favorite places; I think maiwand kabob a few blocks away is better.
