I had a a new prescription done put in older frames. My eye site wasn’t very good out of one eye. I went back within their 30 day warranty period and they re-made the new prescription after the optometrist changed it at no charge. Two more months went by and I was having more problems. The optometrist once again changed the prescription. However, this time I was told by the sales person they would not remake the lens with out charging me. What was troubling was she now said she strongly recommended I purchase new frames because according to her if they were broken during lens installation I would still have to pay for the new lens. Reminded her I wasn’t told this two months prior. She suggested I also purchase insurance. I really felt she was only trying to sell me as much as she possible could and could care less about my vision. I went to eye Mart the staff there was highly professional and very knowledgeable. I purchased their best lens along with new frames for the same amount Lens Crafter’s wanted for new lens alone.

Note: This review is for my visit with Lens Crafters AND Palmetto Optometry Associates, as both operate under the same space but are separate businesses. OUTSTANDING service by every single person whom I encountered. I called ahead and spoke to Ashley on the phone to schedule an appointment. She was very sweet and professional and got me in the same day for an afternoon eye exam. When I walked in 15 minutes prior to my appointment, Michelle greeted me, and she too was equally pleasant and made the experience very positive. Heather checked me in for my appointment and she was outgoing and hilarious. I had fun talking to her and liked that she made a typically boring eye exam entertaining :) Lastly, Dr. Ondersma was my Optometrist and he was super nice and had a lot of charisma. He was also not bad to look at! ;) As for the Lens Crafters side of it, I was buying new frames and found their selection to be pretty solid. I ended up snagging a great pair of small black Coach frames that I can’t wait to wear. They have a 40% off discount on frames right now so the final price tag on the frames fortunately is not outrageously expensive, but the lenses(depending on what type you get), will up the bill. Michelle was great with me and took the time to go over all the selections and price points that I needed to decide on and was just very helpful with the whole process. Only reason for a four star instead of five star review is the time factor. Including the 15 minutes before my appointment when I walked in, I was there for a full 2 hours. This is counting both the time it took for my eye exam and then the follow up time I had to spend selecting lenses with Michelle. I was not in a hurry so it was ok, but I can imagine 2 hours is typically not ideal for most. Other then the length of time I was there, everything else was great and it’s a place I’d definitely recommend for vision care.
