I really enjoy the lighthouse everyone there is so nice the food is excellent and it is very clean. It is definitely worth the trip. A very pleasant place to have breakfast or lunch.

Still three stars, but only because The Lighthouse is simply not a four or five star joint. And the classification as «American(New)» is laughable. It is a diner, not some haute cuisine bistro. And the closest you’ll get to brunch is ordering eggs at noon. I love this place, but someone is obviously padding the reviews. As my previous review stated, it’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall diner that serves good, basic breakfast and lunch offerings. I’m adding an update to reflect some additions since my first review. Maybe they changed owners or chefs, I’m not sure. But our last visit was for lunch, and I ordered a burger. I have to say, it was a great burger. They’ve obviously taken a cue from Shady Glen, as the burgers now featured that wonderful crispy grilled cheese. You can even order a side of it. A guilty pleasure. If you’re in the area please give the place a shot. It’s hardly worth driving out of your way for, but it is solid comfort food, and it’s comforting to know we have a nice little diner like this so close to home.

I really like this place. It’s nothing fancy, just a solid, filling breakfast. The service is excellent and friendly and the coffee is delicious. I am not sure why there is a review saying its closed, we were here over the weekend and it definately is not.

I love greasy spoons and this one is great! We came in on a Saturday morning, I expected it to be busy but it was not, we got a nice booth. Coffee was delicious and the waitress kept it coming! She was very attentive and intuitive. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our breakfast– I had an egg sandwich with home fries and hubby had French toast. We even got a sample of their«specialty» fried cheese. Even though I could feel my arteries clogging it was worth it. Can’t go wrong with fried cheese in my book. I think it was slightly pricey but not horrible. We will definitely return.

I frequent this low key joint for a quick, quiet, and filling breakfast. With pleasant staff it’s a breakfast out, giving yourself a break from when you don’t feel like cooking(or cleaning) first thing. The hash is amazing. I love the hash, and if you have had bad hash then I think you really appreciate a place that makes the stuff right. They do. I haven’t expanded of the standard eggs, hash, toast but I keep going back. If you are looking for a casual solid breakfast spot this is the place to go. If your a foodie looking to mix things up, then you will probably be disappointed, but something can be said for simple done right.

Best Breakfast restaurant in eastern CT. My family and I have been going here for years. Waitresses are always friendly and conscientious. The food is always right on and delivered very fast. Need a good breakfast — don’t think twice and come here. Only downside, is I like strong bold coffee and their coffee is on the weaker side. For lunch, I’ve only had their chili and it is one of the best chili’s I’ve had.
