I gave Maw’s 5 stars because it is great at what it is, a meat-and-two…or three. It is not fancy but it was clean. The food was delicious, well-seasoned and not cooked down to mush. I arrived around 2:30 and they apologized they were out of some items. I got the last piece of fried chicken, but it was fresh and not dry and hot, as in Nashville hot. So good. I wanted their cabbage and only had a little left so they offered me the collards as well. Both were tasty, but the collards were amazing. Not bitter, and the pot liquor was perfect sopped up with the corn hoecake. I got the mac salad on a whim. I can’t stand the taste of grocery-deli mac salad. I would go back just for that salad. I didn’t have dessert but next time… oh yeah!

From out of town and stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. Customer service is homey but lacking. Menu is very limited. It appears this is a great local breakfast place with good food at good prices but not a terrific dinner and lunch option. Business is probably driven by loyal regulars.

Food was good, however their customer service skills suck!!! I was not greeted at all, sat there waiting for my order to be taken and was never asked did I want a beverage??? It wasn’t til after I ate almost all my food that I was asked WTH… to top it off when she did bring the drink something was stuck on the glass on the inside and she stuck her finger in the top and rubbed it off… I don’t believe I’ll be back

OK I read the other reviewer comments. I’m going. Sounds so good I’ll have to rate based on the testimony of others until I get over there.

Great mom and pop place. Right behind the BBQ place in the shopping center. Great old fashion service.

Good food, really nice folks, and open thru dinner! Most Meat and Three places close at 2oclock or so. This great place is open from 6am to 8 pm. Yay!

The food here is great! Portions are huge and the prices are so low… Maw is such a sweet lady too. You can tell they love what they do here. It’s my soon to be favorite spot :)

We have been in TN for almost 4 years and have finally found a local restaurant to have breakfast that isn’t $ 10 per person. Plenty of choices from simple to big breakfasts. Choices don’t just stop at breakfasts. There are also plenty of lunch and dinner options to choose from all day long. Good country meals. Bypass the chain restaurant and come support your local restaurant. This will be a weekly stop for us

Picture yourself on a boat on a river, with pinto bean dreams, and fried chicken skiiiiies… Everyone smiles as you drift past the counter, a menu with grits and french friiiiiies… I am in a culinary dream, an acid trip of genuine home-cooked southern dishes as long as my arm and as deep as my stomach. No noun exists within the English language that can accurately quantify how good, how fresh, how wonderfully cooked the food is here. In my journey to Maw’s Vittles, I have discovered my view of reality was constrained, bound within the walls between gastronomical errors such as Ruby Tuesday’s and Applebee’s. I have discovered the universe exists on five dimensions. Length, width, height, time, and vittles. Vittles are explained by Maw’s Law. Fresh multiplied by variety plus the square root of spices plus well prepared equals awesome. I would give this restaraunt a number of stars beyond five, but that number does not exist in our realm of consciousness. Go. Go now. NOW.
