Best dive bar in Columbia, maybe the best bar in Columbia. It’s mainly a haunt for locals and the occasional grad/professional student so it’s a nice breather from the scene downtown. It gets busy on some weekend nights and they usually(always?) have karaōke on Saturdays. No food served and no food within walking distance other than the gas station next door. It’s never been a problem for me, but just a heads up if your the type that likes to pour some greasy food over the booze in your stomach then you’ll need a designated driver.

Dive bar. Another bar tender directed us here on a dive bar day. They were right. Divey. Met some nice regulars. Ok, but not overly friendly staff. Service fair. Lots of beers on tap here. We comfy our first time here.

This place is everything and more!!! If you are looking for an amazing ambiance and a dude to chick ratio of 13:1 then this is the bar for you! The rainbow in their Unilocal picture is always there too. However, I looked for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and only found a turd in the toilet. Still very worth a visit though!

I was back in Columbia this weekend to hang out with some old college friends. One of my friends is a regular here because it’s fairly close to his home and he can walk if necessary. There seem to be quite a number of regulars here, especially on Saturday nights for karaōke. As others pointed out, it’s kind of a dive bar, but they do have a large, good selection of craft beers on tap with several local beers available. The prices are reasonable, and the service is pretty good.

If you are a dive bar fan this is your place. They have over twenty beers on tap that rotate. Great whiskey and scotch selection. Pool table and shuffle board. Big patio for you smokers. Full of really cool and relaxed regulars.

I have been hanging out at McGinty’s when I get a chance for 10 years now. The regulars are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and it’s small enough that there’s often spontaneous dancing and fun with total strangers. It’s not the prettiest place to look at, but we keep coming back because it’s a great atmosphere.

This place looks really sketchy from down the road, but it’s actually kind of a cute dive bar. They actually have a pretty good alcohol selection. It was pretty dead on a Friday night, but started to pick up around midnight. There’s a pool table and shuffleboard table, and somehow people were dancing. It seems like there are a few regulars who make up the bulk of the patronage. If you want a quick beer, it’s not a bad place to go. But go with a group!
