I booked 2 rooms for my husband and I and another couple. I used
. I understood this was not going to be a luxurious weekend. I needed 2 rooms for cheap. I could tell it was a little outdated and run-​down from the pics. I can deal with outdated. I cannot deal with gross.
The other couple could not get into their room, due to a faulty key card. Once they were let in, there were no pillows on the bed. They went downstairs and the clerk told them she «had to borrow» them last night and forgot to put them back. Their lights didn’t work, their AC didn’t work, the shower leaked– and every time they left the room, they had to be let back in.
Our room was gross, the tv was outdated and barely viewable. The shower’s water stream and pressure was akin to someone holding a water hose up. It was awful. Lots of mystery stains, carpet needed to be vacuumed (at least) and replaced, due to what looked like old dry vomit stains.
The staff was mostly helpful, but they have a nasty, rundown place to work in. I was pissed about the billing– I paid for 2 rooms online and had to pay for one of the rooms again, in person. They couldn’t find the reservation and only after I called
did they figure out the mistake was on their end. I should have my refund in a week or so.
The check in process was also too long. I make online reservations so I can limit my time at the front desk. It took 20 minutes and the woman doing the check in was just taking her time, laughing and making mistakes. She had to ask me for my card and info over and over again.
I should have just paid an extra $ 60 and went to the Marriott. If we weren’t on a time crunch, we would have complained and had our rooms switched. It was just one night, so we sucked it up, but it was definitely not worth $ 79.99/night.

There is nothing positive to say about our experience at this dated hotel. The room was very old looking & dirty, and the breakfast was disgusting (stale cereal). Despite the fact that we booked numerous rooms here for a youth soccer tournament, many of us were given smoking rooms that reeked. Our room was probably one of the worse… our toilet did not flush for 2 days! I am leaving this Unilocal review so that no one makes the mistake of ever staying at this hotel. I wish I could give it ZERO stars!

The Microtel offered a decent room for the price I paid, which was quite inexpensive. With a Microtel, it’s to be expected that the space in the room is going to be a little cramped, but if you’re looking for a clean bed for the night, a decent shower and a refrigerator to store food items overnight, you certainly can’t go wrong here. The room was as advertised, and even being given a room near the elevator and ice machine, it was generally quiet.
Continental breakfast was decent, including a waffle maker as well as biscuits and gravy. Of course, your standard fruits, coffee and English muffins were there. Dining space was a bit cramped.
My concerns about this hotel were that there was no public guest laundry area, and judging by the number of people who were staying at the hotel as part of a work trip, this would have been a good idea. Also, the back of my TV remote was held together by tape.

Some of the things I liked about my room were the comfortable bed, the strong wifi signal, cleanliness of the room, and the hi def tv with reception of hd channels.
I was not pleased that my room was next to the lobby, so I got a muffled noise anytime the lobby tv was on as well as any patron that wanted to be loud while in the lobby. The continental breakfast included a container of milk that was not being kept on ice or refrigerated during the breakfast bar hours, which led to an really bad bowl of cereal.
The room rate was around $ 20 less per night than the corporate rate I could have got at another chain. If you are ok with the Microtel concept (small room, tv on top of cabinet, etc) then this is a good value.
