Philly’s Best Pizza and Subs

I googled best pizza delivery in Columbia, MD and this place came up. You HAVE to be KIDDING me. This pizza tastes EXACTLY like Domino’s, the WORST pizza on the planet. And then I went to go for their Reese’s Pieces brownie, hoping it would save the day. But alas, my hopes were dashed. I got a corner brownie that was so hard I could have used as a respectable weapon. As if that weren’t enough, the fried «banana» cheesecake had absolutely NO flavor of banana whatsoever. I could’ve gotten a tastier dessert at Taco Bell. Finally, they were 15min later than the Grubhub latest quoted range delivery time. Yuck. Pass this place by folks, unless you’re a fatty who simply eats for the sake of eating. Otherwise you’ll be SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED.

Pizza is fantastic and delivery is quick. Best of all, you can also order all sorts of other things like dessert, candy, sides, and two-​liter bottles of soda, so if you’re stuck in the house for any reason, this really helps.

Philly’s Best… I’d hate to see Philly’s Worst… geez
My boss raves about this place, but I don’t get it. But I have partaken in ordering with her & whoever else for delivery three or four times, but I don’t really get it. On a positive note, I will say that the Philly Cheesesteak is very good. I confirmed that it is this location and not Elkridge that delivers to our office.
Often times I don’t want to pig out on Philly Cheesesteak; so I have tried a couple of their other sandwiches.
My most recent experience was yesterday, which was negative. I decided to be sensible and get a wrap. It comes with fries or chips, but let’s face it: both are unhealthy. I chose fries, which are a better value and probably better tasting.
Office worker called in the order around 1 PM, and it was about 2 PM when it arrived, which was too long in my opinion. I kept plugging away at work, and when I heard the door at 1:45, I thought surely that must be the food. No, unfortunately, it was someone work related… ugh, but I didn’t answer the door.
After the food came, I ate the fries first, which were cool. They weren’t terrible, but they would’ve been better hot. I realized that this place isn’t as close to our office as I thought when I looked up the location; no wonder the fries were cold. If I had known that, I might’ve gone for chips. They need to keep their fries hot with heat bags or have a smaller delivery area. (My boss would not be happy about the smaller delivery area, but this is my review. She can go on Unilocal and give them 5-​stars if she wants.)
As for my roast beef wrap, I specifically said to the person in our office calling in, no horseradish & mayo instead. Guess what? It had horseradish, and I believe her that she told them since she was writing it down. I believe the person taking the order wasn’t listening and/​or didn’t write it down. I don’t like horseradish; thankfully, I’m not allergic. If I had been, this would’ve been a real problem. This is why it is very important that they get delivery orders exactly right. Additionally, I thought the roast beef was way too salty. I didn’t even finish it.
Speaking of salty: three months ago I remembered our office ordered pizza from here, and I thought it was below average and too salty of pizza.
Lesson here is if my office is ordering I will only get the Philly Cheesesteak because that is their one strong suit, or decline to order from them and enjoy the many great restaurants in the southern part of Columbia closer to the office. However, if the office is paying for pizza, I will certainly eat the over-​salted free pizza.

I normally just get delivery from here and it’s always faster than the big chain pizza places. They seem to over quote how long it will take the driver to get to my house, almost always have knock on my door 10 to 15 minutes early.
My favorite pizza in Columbia and highly recommend giving this place a try.

My husband and I just moved to Columbia. Our apartment complex gave us the menu for Philly’s Best. My husband ordered a Cuban Panini and I got spaghetti with meatballs. The food was so delicious that we ended up ordering there every night our first week in Columbia. The prices are great and the food is just packed with so much flavor. We have also ordered the chicken and cheese Stromboli, steak and cheese Stromboli, old bay and fries. buffalo wings. I swear we gained like 8 lbs that week. Our delivery guy was friendly and came at within a good time frame from when we placed the order. Ive recommended this place to my job which is also in Columbia. I rave about it to all my guests at home. I have not been to the location but we did live in Langley Park at one point so people cursing wont scare us.

Probably the best pizza in Howard County… and there is no better deal. Extra large pizza for less than $ 10!!!
This restaurant is not one you go to for their excellent customer service, nor is it the kind of place you can expect wonderful seafood, wraps, or desserts. Philly’s Best is a pizza place, that makes absolutely amazing PIZZA.

Good food. Good value. Sketchy location.
The XX-​Large carryout special for $ 10.99 is an excellent value. Plenty of cheese, good amount of toppings and nice crust.
The Thunder Hill area is pretty rough. While eating outside I watched plenty of foul language spewing, loud people walking around without any place to go. Bored people with questionable values are not my preferred dinner companions.

Every time I order from here they forget things and mess it up. Today I talked to 3 people regarding a messed up order and after continually being out on hold the «gentleman» started arguing with me. NEVER order from here!!! They are rude and never get the orders right and forget stuff.

Just got the sub/​fries/​soda for $ 12.99 deal. This is the first time I’ve eaten here and I really like the fries. For some reason they stand out from other delivery pizza place fries. The deal came with a 20 oz soda as opposed to other places which give you cans in the same sort of deal. I got the chicken cheesesteak and I really like it. Will definitely order from here again. Delivery wasn’t that quick — 45 minutes — but they told me 45 minutes so it wasn’t a surprise. The delivery driver was really nice and smiley.

If you are looking for a very fair priced, but average pizza this is the place for you. I think the pizza is good but I wouldn’t say it is anything special. I do like the deals they have and those, to me, make it worth coming back. It’s also extremely close to my house so it is convenient. I’m sure there are better places, but this place isn’t bad.

I’ve been eating here for years. Their delivery has always been fast and accurate (with the exception of a missing soda, which the delivery guy went and bought at the gas station across the street and brought it back to me, even though I said it wasn’t a big deal. Impressive).
The cheesesteaks here are delicious. My boyfriend is from Philly and he likes them (very picky about his cheesesteaks) too. They’re always so big I get at least two meals out of them. The fries that come with them however, not always good. Very often limp and greasy.
Pizza isn’t bad either. It’s not competing with NY pizzas by a long shot but not bad. What is really good are their pizza rollies. Basically pizza rolled up, brushed with garlic butter and baked. Omg good. Loaded with cheese and pepperoni, with a nice caramelized cheese layer on the bottom.
Grilled chicken salad is good (it has a specific name but I can’t remember it) with lots of veggies and a monster portion of well seasoned grilled chicken. I’ve never been disappointed with it and its always more than I can finish in one meal.
All that being said, since I moved out of the area I haven’t been in awhile. Happened to be in the area earlier this week and ordered up a cheesesteak with fried onions, sweet peppers and ketchup. I’m happy to report that it was just as good as I remembered it.
Give this place a try. Maybe the counter guys aren’t full of rainbows and sunshine but they’re pleasant enough and what really matters is the food, right?

My BF & I order from PB on a regular basis, usually pizza but occasionally subs. Their pizza is my favorite in the area. The crust is delightfully chewy, and the sauce has just a hint of sweetness. The amounts of cheese and toppings are consistently appropriate, generous but never overpowering.
They lose one star due to their side orders, though. Their regular fries have a crispy coating that I personally don’t like. That’s a matter of taste, but the other types of fries are a tad overpriced.
As far as their service, I don’t know what some people expect. No one there has ever offered to be my new best friend, but my orders have always been taken quickly and efficiently, and filled the same way. That’s all that I expect from a very busy establishment.

I took a chance ordering from this place and wished I would’ve read the previous reviews first. Pretty much feel like I got suckered out of $ 30. I ordered the 12″ Margherita pizza and 20 wings. When the pizza arrived it was warm, not hot. The pizza itself was the saddest pizza I’ve ever seen. There was hardly any mozzarella cheese and the basil was soggy and seemed old. I wouldn’t really call it a pizza, more like dough with some sauce and a pinch of cheese. The wings were ok. Nothing spectacular. Not sure if I’d give this place a second chance. The first impression was not impressive. For what I paid I should’ve just stuck with Dominos or Pizza Hut.

Had a great cheesesteak today! It was just like back home except for the roll. The meat had lots of flavor. The cheesesteak was filled with meat. I didn’t have to order double meat like Maryland cheesesteaks. If it was an Amaroso roll then it would be 5 stars.

I made on order from Philly Pizza and ordered a sub, a pizza, wings Italian, cold cut, and veal Parmesan sub. The pizza was not cook and had that stale hardness to it. Like when you microwave bread and let it sit. The Italian cold cut was mostly baloney, The veal was was over cooked and on stall bread. The was 2 liter not cold, and the wings were not cooked all the way and had the texture of a microwaved item. I called, I express in a very neutral manor How do they expect to stay in business only relying on one time only customers. They hung up on me I called them back and informed them that I will be filing a claim with pay pal

The Manager of this place is completely rude. Tried to tell me without even asking his driver if a receipt was given, that I was wrong because the drivers ALWAYS have a copy of the receipt. Then he proceeded to tell me to «Cut the bullshit» and hung up on me. I think they are the worst with customer service and will never go back to them again! I am pretty sure you do not need to be that rude when they forgot something on big order and I just wanted to verify we were not charged for the items missing. Will never recommend or use this place again. Clearly, not an issue for Philly’s Best since I was told he could care less if we used them again or not. I am still stunned by the rudeness of this place.

I cannot believe how ridiculously rude the employees are over the phone. I called with a very simple request, and was sharply informed that «it was too hard» and they wouldn’t do it.
I asked for sauce on half of a pizza. Not hard.
I’ve never really enjoyed their food, but opted for convenience. Did not place an order today, and will not place one again. There are a number of far better pizza places in the region, and it’s worth it to go a little farther out for far superior food with far superior service.

1^st time here. Ordered Cheese steak sub. Very good customer service. Sub was very good. Lots of steak chopped up as was lettuce, tomato etc. Bread was toasted with a slight char to it. Good crunch & soft inside. Perfect! Def will be back.

IMO the best cheap pizza around. They have a $ 7 or $ 8 carryout deal that I use often. Also pretty good customer service. They messed up my order once and offered me a replacement no problem.
