Poppy

I first visited Poppy looking for unique gifts for a housewarming party and left with those gifts plus some. I couldn’t help myself! This quickly became one of my favorite places in Columbia for gifts and paper goods. I’ve purchased home décor items, wine candles (yes, wine candles), some baby gifts and multiple cards, all with great response from the recipients. I love that they sell handmade items, and that most come from right here in Columbia. It adds to to the specialness of it all.
The inventory isn’t large, so if you find something you want, get it sooner rather than later. I have waited to purchase something and found it no longer available when I returned.
A large section of the store is devoted to paper goods (mostly traditional cards). If you have time, browse through these, they are delightful. The cards are pricier than what you’ll find at a chain store, but you get what you pay for.
The staff and owner have been friendly and accommodating each visit, and they have free gift wrapping which rocks! Keep doing what you do, Poppy.

Cool little so with a wife variety of gifts and household things. Probably more suited for the lady in you… Meaning it’s not a place I’m likely to frequent unless I’m buying a gift.

First, let me start by saying, when I lived in Columbia just about my whole paycheck went to gorgeous jewelry from Poppy. I still have all of it and wear it all of the time (and get a ton of compliments).
I was just back in Columbia and bought some new earings, two necklaces (one for myself and one for a birthday gift for a friend) and a print by a local artist for my boyfriend.
It is a great place to get gifts for just about anyone. They have a wide selection of art, jewelry, furniture, ceramics. They also have a baby and childrens section (if only I knew more babies…).
The service is immpecable and their gift wrap is adorable. Now that I live out of town, I do my fair share of online shopping/​online drooling. They have a great website for it!

I always see stuff in the window I like, but when I get I inside, I never buy anything. Not for lack of trying. I really want to buy something from this store, but in the end nothing ever appeals enough to make me want to buy it.
It does have a great selection of handmade art, toys, jewelry etc. Others seem to have better luck shopping here than me, judging from the 5-​star reviews…

I absolutely love coming here. Around birthdays and holidays, I like to come here to browse for a unique gift. I love the variety of products and can spent way too much time just browsing.

Great selection of handcrafted jewelry. They have a variety of crafts, like pottery, linens, toys, and glass.
There is a great deal of light that comes into the store, which helps to really see the high-​quality of the merchandise. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the artists. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and no one tries to push a sale.
It has been a long time since I’ve been into an artists’ boutique that I really enjoyed pursuing around in; Poppy was perfect!

Poppy is always expertly decorated and filled with handmade art objects that make you wonder «how do the artists think of this?» The jewelry at Poppy is the best in town and their children’s section is full of the cutest hand made gifts for babies.

I love this store. I have purchased several jewelry pieces there. Everything that I have purchased has lasted for years. All of the jewelry is hand made. There is something to fit everyones budget. I have never seen so many unique items in one store.

Poppy has fabulous jewelry! They vary their selection for different budgets and taste levels. I got spoiled when my sister worked here and would buy me necklaces or earrings for Christmas and my birthday. What will I do now that she has moved on!!! Buy Clara Beau online I suppose. I could spend hours perusing in Poppy, and you could too! Oh, and they gift wrap everything in craft paper and adorable colorful poppies.

The best art/​craft store in Columbia. Don’t buy that cookie-​cutter chain store jewelry, go to Poppy and buy something original, unique, and beautiful. All my gifts for women I buy here: mom, wife, etc.
Many of their items are made by local artisans. Their wall-​art is also fantastic. You could decorate your home very well shopping at this place.
And I can’t forget to recommend the Poppettes, the young ladies who work at Poppy. They are always very helpful and knowledgeable about the items Poppy sells. They also model the jewelry for the store, and do a great job of it. Also, their window displays are always unique and attractive.
If you want to buy some beautiful unique jewelry for a woman, or give your home some more color, or buy a unique item for a new child, go to Poppy and the recipient of your gift won’t soon forget you.

Any gift for any person of any age can be found at Poppy. They have great jewelry, cards, clothing, furniture, fantastic baby gifts, and some of the most unique chachkis you can imagine. I have a million of their mugs, aprons and dishes, and I can’t stop. I live in Chicago and I’ll have my mom get gifts from Poppy and send them to me to give out. You’re sure to have something original, and you’ll find it in your price range. I can’t praise this store enough.

Does walking in this store make me less of a man? Perhaps. This is not a hardware store, that’s for sure, but who says a guy can’t respect some of the stuff they’ve got here. It’s like a halfway gift-​store/​art-​gallery, and they constantly rotate the local artists they find, so you can be surprised when you check out the wares from month to month. In fact, I did find something really functional there, a loofa scrub-​sponge for the kitchen. You know, after you go out and hunt a big animal and cook it up on the grill? Yea, you need loofa sponges to clean up the grissle. Anyhow, it’s a nice place for all genders.

I love this store! I can find a gift for anyone here including myself! I probably did half of my Christmas shopping here. Poppy has unique Missouri crafts without being «in your face Missouri style.» They have the cutest baby toys and accessories, a large selection of home made cards, funky jewelery, and really cool pottery. They have some great nontraditional Christmas ornaments during the holiday season as well. My favorite thing in the store is the giant United States wall hanging where each state is made out of it’s own license plate-​just go in to admire it!

I can’t go downtown without checking in here — aside from the cases of really neat and original jewelry, there’s offbeat furniture, art, wine holders, handmade cards, and various other trinkets you’ll find if you look around. One of the owners is almost always there, and the entire staff is really friendly and helpful, not to mention the fact that they tend to model their own jewelry! This is one of the best (and there are several) places to go for nice gifts for a girlfriend or a host or pretty much anyone who enjoys the original and yet beautiful. I need to repeat, the jewelry alone keeps me coming back to drool all over the cases.
