Always good food! They have great wings and a great atmosphere. It’s not just normal bar food either, they always have great specials. Sometimes the service can be pretty slack, but overall it’s pretty good. Will recommend and return time and time again.

The huss puppies are delicious. Food came out fast and the quality was good. Music wasn’t to loud and environment seemed welcoming. Sweet potato fries are also good. Enjoy.

I am a fan of the Publick House. It is close to my house, has a decent selection of craft and import beers, and their wings are the best I have had in Columbia. Service is good, atmosphere is relaxed. I occasionally bring my kids here, and they aren’t the only ones, which makes feel better about taking my kids to a pub to eat. Not all the food items are winners(I’m looking at you fried zucchini) but my wife and daughter like the chicken fingers and I get the wings every time. Both the regular fries and raw fries are good as well.

Good food, but annoyed with the fact that condiments do not come with 30 wings! I ordered take out, because I heard the wings were good, but noticed in the car they forgot my blue cheese. I ran back in, and was informed dressings are $ 0.85 each. Not the end of the world, but I just think it’s cheesy, cheap, tricky or whatever … Does including one serving of blue cheese really kill their price points?

2.5 stars Came here after a long day of football watching and drinking, so our group was a little rough. We were all starving and in need of food asap. Found this spot and decided to give it a go since it was more of a bar atmosphere than restaurant. I’m pretty sure our server hated us. Not that I blame her, we were a big group and a few of the guys were annoying and I could tell she was not in the mood to deal with them. However, she appeared to be the only server, so she was stuck with us. Or maybe she wasn’t, since she pretty much avoided us. The menu selection is ok, bar food and sandwiches. Decided to split some wings, fried zucchini and mozzarella sticks. Nothing was really spectacular, but wasn’t horrible either. The problem was we waited so long for our food, they could’ve put really anything in front of us and we would’ve been happy. The drinks were good though, good selection of beer and liquor. So maybe this is more a place for after dinner drinks and to watch a game rather than food.

Generally yummy food. The fried pickles and wings are always spot on. We are comfortable bringing our child for a meal, and no one blinks(she adores the fish and chips!) Had one unfortunate experience with lemon pepper fish on salad that was far too heavily seasoned, but that was a one-off. Good service that doesn’t diss us for having the youn’un along like some«hip» places seem to do, We will always be back!

Have been consistently satisfied with this place. Good food, great and reasonably priced beer selection, what more can you ask for? Place can get busy/loud but definitely a good place to get some wings and beer and relax with friends.

Great food. We eat here almost weekly. Consistency is the key. Other places may have great wings once in a while, but Publick House’s wings are consistently great. They’ve got pub food down to an art. I also like the philly whenever I’m not in a wing mood. Décor is cozy and wooden, with a touch of Irish and a hint of dive. The place is usually just the right amount of busy but can be a madhouse occasionally. The beer selection is sufficient for any beer lover but the table menu isn’t always up to date. You’re better off checking the chalkboard over the bar for specials.

Love the atmosphere in here, food options are fairly standard and lack in diversity and creativity. My only dislike is the fact that they don’t post prices on beers except for what’s on special.

We stopped by for a late night dinner. I was headed for the Fish and Chips which is always good but, the waitress mention she still had their special of Lamb Sliders. They were awesome! I have noticed the specials at Publik House are above standard«Bar Food Fare». Definitely worth a look!

Awesome wings but raw fries were a bit soggy. The atmosphere here is awesome as well. Darts, pool table, etc. Great place for a chill dinner

white supremecy? lol, hahaha! not so much. i said that because our friend who came to meet us there got to the publick house first and texted us(me being asian and my hubby mixed) that the crowd wasn’t a «normal mix» of people. We asked, «like crazy young college kids?» then found out he meant a lot of white people. haha. so what? I think he was just being worried and definitely for no good reason. we still went and when we got there it was just a lot of people who were all having a good time and of course with the awesome southern hospitality. Everyone was nice and we enjoyed ourselves. We had laughs, beers, and some of us played some darts and pool. How can you not have a good time? We didn’t try any food but judging from the look of plates we saw around us i’d say it looked pretty good!

I had been wanting to check this place out for some time now and finally made it. Heard their wings were ooc(out of control) and they were! I wish I hadn’t gotten the sweet stuff and started with the traditional BBQ stuff but nonetheless they were great! We got the guiness battered shrimp as well and they were damn good too! I don’t think I’d go back on a Friday night(way too crowded) but I’ll be back for sure!

I love this place. It’s a really great, darkly lit pub with a great beer selection, really good food, and nice people. There are pool tables and dart boards. We love the food. The chicken salad melt is awesome, and the wings are nice and crispy. This is a really great place to grab lunch, a late supper, or a beer after work.

After a pause of a few years, we stopped back at an old favorite place to eat and drink. The place still was the same. Great wings, awesome raw fries and tasty beer. The bartenders and waitresses have changed but oddly it still was the great place I had come pretty much weekly for years.

Great place to eat. Great wings! Good service! Chef made me grilled chicken and veges. It wasn’t on the menu but he made it for me anyway. So Yummo!

Well it comes as no surprise as on on a Sunday afternoon we were treated to the newest beers in SC and offered samples of other regional beers. I always enjoy coming here and noticed several restaurant owners drinking here today. That mean it’s a great place to come out and relax from the work week. Publick House has continued to go above and beyond in providing me with a great outing with friends in rye five points area.

Good food, good beer list, and great pub feel. It’s barely out of five points, but I think that is a good thing. Pour a good Guinness. Have good wings, and service is great. A++

The good: Great place to meet friends, grab a few beers, play a game of darts or pool, or eat. Pretty good wings, I didn’t think they were anything to marvel over. Try the lemon pepper! The Pterodactly was nice and saucy if that’s your thing. Skip the spicy teriyaki, the hot was more flavorful. The bad: The service is a toss up. They always seem to be understaffed with only a few bartenders even on the busiest of days but the ones that are there are nice and helpful. If you’re ordering take out, be sure to double check the order because on more than one occasion they’ve mixed it up. The ugly: I had a server literally grab my shoulder and push me out of the way. It was busy and the bar is set up so you pick up take out orders where servers get the drinks from the bar but I was appalled. I would have happily moved if she had used her words.

Trivia on a Saturday night? What? Now, I might imagine trivia happening on a Monday. Or a Tuesday. Or a Wednesday or Thursday. Heck, I can imagine trivia occurring on a Sunday night. But a weekend night? Yet here it was. The beer was good. The british style french fry«chips» were greasy and crunchy and delicious. The wings were okay. Cool vibe here. Great spot for meeting friends and not so loud that you can’t hear yourself think. I’m still wondering about that trivia, though…
