The tattoo shop is kind of hard to find if you don’t know you’re looking for it. It’s a smaller shop, when I was there only a few artists were present, BUT my artist, Matt Johnston(aka Howlin Hard) was amazing. The tattoo hurt, I picked a super sensitive spot, but Matt was a champ about how I was handling it. He gave me plenty of time to breathe and prepare for the extra sensitives spots and he was good about talking to me and answering any questions I had about the process. He did the sketch and I was so pleased with it and I am even more pleased with the tattoo. It’s beautiful. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to do this tattoo. It still needs one more session, some color work, and I can’t wait to come back into the shop. Btw, this shop only takes cash, BUT they have an atm in the lobby.

I just got my first tattoo at Red Lantern, and I luv, luv, luv it! MATT Johnston(aka Howlin Hard) was great. Being my first tattoo, I’m sure I was squirmier than others, but he was really good throughout the process from beginning to end. He answered all my questions and made sure I was ok in every step. Matt communicated well with me while he was doing the design. He sent me pictures of his work, as he was making sure I loved the design before we moved forward. He’s definitely an awesome artist. He took what I gave him and made it much better than what I could have ever imagined. I am very, very happy to have this tattoo for a lifetime. I found Matt by sheer luck… or maybe it was fate. But, I hope this review will help other tattoo hopefuls or enthusiasts go in the right direction.
