Had a great meal with son during parents weekend; tomahawk chops and stags leap… great waiter! Ambiance is not good… wall to wall carpet with low ceilings and stark white walls. Not what a great steak house should be! Felt like we were in a basement…

A group of six of us went to Ruth’s Chris — Columbia for dinner last night. Let me preface… we go to Ruth’s Chris in Tampa, where we r from, all the time. The food is always extremely good, service is superb. Since we were in town for my daughter’s lacrosse tournament and it was Valentine’s Day weekend, her and her boyfriend, the in-laws, and my husband and I thought we’d go have a wonderful meal at Ruth’s Chris. Wow, this is the worst Ruth’s Chris. We walked up and I got a cow, which was really cute. Our Ruth’s gives roses for V-day but I thought wow, a cow is so cute, this is going to be great. Then, on the menu, they have a mixed grill. We don’t have that in Tampa and it had all my faves on the plate. I thought this is so awesome. Then, the food started coming out! My plate looked dirty. In fact, my 19-year-old daughter looked at me and said wow, I hope this tastes good because they sure don’t take any special effort in plating the food. Zero presentation. The steak had no flavor, the chicken was dry, and the crab cake had shell. My mashed potatoes were cold. I’d say the best thing there would had to have been the bread. It was nice and hot. Afterwards, I asked about the $ 25 card that u receive for booking on V-day. I had received it in an email. Well, apparently they r not part of the main franchise and do not have the same benefits as other Ruth’s, so I couldn’t get the card. Do not waste ur money. The two stars are for my cow! Lol

My husband brought me there for Valentine’s Day. It was nice and we had a great time but mostly because we were determined to celebrate. I’ve been to many other Ruth Chris Restaurants. When comparing this one to other RCs, I would give it a 3.5 out 5 stars. It may have been because they were so busy but our waiter was missing most of the night and were missing things that we requested or that was supposed to come with our meal. Initially we ordered wine, drinks, and lemon to go with my water. Then we ordered two appetizers. The appetizers came out way before the drinks and the shrimp cocktail was missing cocktail sauce. When the waiter finally brought our drinks we asked for the sauce and a 2nd request for lemon. The sauce for my husband’s shrimp came out after my appetizer was nearly gone. Our plates were not cleared from our table when the main course came out and our waiter never came back after our main course was sent. I asked the person that brought our food for another plate that was never brought out to me. I had to flag down another waiter to request our waiter. By the time he came back we were finished with our meal. I had to ask my husband if he wanted another drink with the waiter there since the waiter didn’t offer. No water refill either. This was disappointing and not the level of service you expect to receive for the cost or brand. Otherwise, the food, wine, dessert, and my date were awesome!

This place is amazing. Yes it is expensive but the food and atmosphere is well worth it. The side dishes are huge and can feed 3 people, the steaks are some of the best steaks I have ever had. This place is great for special occasions and if you want to treat yourself a little. Parking is a little ruff but if you can get a spot I would highly recommend this place. Happy Eating!

This is a review for brunch only*****the brunch is really, really average. We had a breakfast coupon for free but, even so I would have rather paid to eat at Panera across the street. For the regular price I expected an omelet station and waffle station and it seems to be similar to a Hampton inn breakfast instead. Staff was nice. Sorry I think they need to better for a full service hilton.

Dined here during Restaurant Week 2016, to save a little $$$$. The food, flavor, atmosphere was very pleasing, much to be desired, presentation of the food was Excellent. Not a huge menu, but offering something for everyone. My husband enjoyed the beer & my Martini’s were on point, actually everything we had was a Delicious option! The shop was both clean and tidy, having plenty seating. The hostess/waitress was attentive at all times. Staff members there greeted us in/out when we left. The food was more than filling, loved all the dishes thus far. We will certainly be returning soon and would recommend this facility. My husband and I loved this place. The best steak I have ever had… Yasssssssssssss!!! Jan 26, 2016: Update forgot to post the Delicious meals. Keylime Martini, Huge Onion Rings, Filet & Shrimp, Scallops– Corn, Mac– Cheese, & Greens, and chocolate cheese cake… all cooked to perfection!!!

Excellent choice for a business dinner. Came here for a meeting in their private room, maybe 25 total attendees. The service was spot-on, and request were handled promptly. Valet parking was convenient, but(–1 star) because there was a charge for all attendees even though we had just spent over $ 1000 on dinner. Columbia is not a big enough city to charge for valet parking at this type of upscale restaurant. Would definitely recommend, but be sure to bring along cash to pay for and tip the valet.

Would not go back. Ordered Caesar salad, filet mignon and mashed potatoes. Caesar was average. Filet was inedible; horrible cut of steak. Sent back filet and offered a dessert. Mashed potatoes tasted like the butter they were soaked in. Left hungry with $ 60 bill.

We stayed at the Hilton for 4 nights during Christmas. The bartenders were all extremely nice… came here 3 times actually. The BURGERTHOUGH… even though they overcooked it(well-done…) it was SOGOOODDDD. The ahi tuna appetizer was amazing! Ravioli’s were slightly on the heavier side… but yeah… good drinks, too!

I am currently sitting at the bar with Brittany and Carolyn as my bartenders. This is some of the best service and drinks I have ever had. I prefer and old fashioned and I will always come here for them. AMAZING. I had a Caesar salad and it was awesome and full of chicken, as expected. Awesome service, awesome food, awesome mixed drinks, come here… Staying here or not, come here!!!

Kindof random they put this steakhouse in a college town, however it is the only good place to satisfy my red meat craving whenever I’m in town for business. Went with the dry aged NY strip, can’t complain :)

Great steak and good service. The steak comes cooking in their freaking hot plates. It was pretty cool seeing my sexy perfectly seasoned filet minion cook on that plate. The shrimps on my steak were good too. I love everything here. And the service was good. Everyone was nice and professional.

I’ve been to this location several times and have always enjoyed myself. The staff is very knowledgeable and always makes great suggestions for dinner. My most recent server, Blake, paired fantastic wines with our dinner. He was very attentive and funny.

I’m giving this place 5 stars to balance out the person who ordered a well-done steak then complained about how it was cooked. Only a sociopath would order a well done steak in a steakhouse.

We went this week for a birthday celebration after being unable to find a local(non-chain) establishment that wasn’t booked up. It took nearly an hour before we were even asked to place our orders. Another hour to arrive. Another hour and we finally had to be very direct and ask for our checks. My salmon was overlooked and leathery on one side — unappetizing. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day with this place. This isn’t the first time I’ve been to this location and left under-impressed, but it will be the last time. I should add that our server was always friendly, he was just never around…

So I came here with a group of people last week and we had a great time and enjoyed all of our food… until we got home and 3 people who ate the creamy soup got food poisoned and could not go to work the next day. This was my second time here and i gave it a 5 last time but i have to say we all wanted to call the food inspector after we experienced that. I just hope they don’t serve old expired creams and etc because now I am afraid to go back and order a soup:(

Dined here on a Saturday night in the bar area. When we arrived the valet area was a huge mess, both guys were busy so some people just got out of their cars and wondered around, all you had to do was wait patiently for a few more minutes people. We have dined at Ruth’s Chris before(in Virginia) and were not at all impressed with the food, cost vs. quality. We decided to go here for date night and order a bunch of appetizers instead. Service wasn’t great. We were greeted as soon as we sat down and asked if we wanted a glass of some(name here) wine, we asked to look at the wine menu instead. Our waitress didn’t return for another 10 minutes. So we ordered some wine and the fried calamari. The wine came in a few minutes, the calamari in 10. The calamari was very good, a large portion perfectly split between two people. It came with some roasted red pepper pieces that when combined with the calamari tasted like a sweet cocktail sauce. Next we ordered the barbecue shrimp, steak skewers and chips. I’m not sure why they called the shrimp barbecue because there is nothing barbecue about them, from what I could tell. They were not grilled or served with a bbq style sauce, they were instead baked I think and served with a warm, butter based cream sauce that was excellent. The chips were seasoned great but unfortunately really floppy and soft, they also came with ketchup for dipping. We originally ordered the chips with the calamari but they never came, we had to ask for them again when we placed our second order. The steak skewers were cooked well and came with a creamy cajun dipping sauce that was really good. After this we ordered a second round of drinks, the side order of potatoes au gratin and another order of the chips. The potatoes au gratin came like 30 seconds after I placed the order which was awesome. They were piping hot and creamy. They were good, but I don’t think I would order them again, after a while the cheese and cream became over whelming. The chips again, took forever to come. When our waitress(finally) came by to check on us we told her to forget about the chips, but she said they would be out in just a few minutes. Finally the chips came and they tasted completely different then the first order, they had no flavor and they were almost burnt, and came with no ketchup. Overall we enjoyed our meal but won’t be returning by choice to dine here. Also, I assume because it’s linked to the hotel they are slack on some rules, ie proper dress and letting children into the bar area. There was a small child, 6 – 7 years old sitting at one of the bar stools, the mother also had the bartender make two smoothie drinks for the child, I overheard her saying the child didn’t like the first one. I thought this was taking advantage of the bartender and causing him to waste his time on her order rather then the other 25 adults in the bar area. Not to mention that when the gentlemen whose seat she was in came back she switched to sitting on her mothers lap… who 3 minutes later sent the chair toppling over in the middle of the floor.

Ehhh to be $$$$ I wasn’t impressed. It is attached to the Hilton. The 5 employees that greeted us at the hostess stand were very polite… they confirmed our reservation and my phone number and said they’d text us once our table was ready(we arrived 15mins before our reservation)… I’ve never been before but it was packed(there’s a carolina/kentucky game this weekend and we think the players were staying in the hotel), which added to the crowd for the night. Our server was also very nice and even greeted me by my name(nice touch). We ordered the fried calamari(didn’t like em, they were tossed in a sauce and by the time we received them they were soggy and lukewarm). I ordered the 3 side veggie plate — really reminded me of baby food — none of the items were hot(didn’t finish any of the sides or take them home). My bf ordered the shrimp and grits, he loved the fried grit cakes… but again nothing to write home about — again not hot. I’m assuming they’re famous for their steaks and since I don’t eat meat… I’ll never find out. We did see the head basketball coach for Kentucky and Carolina’s former baseball coach Ray Tanner dining in… so I guess with the«celebrities» Ruth’s Chris is on point!

The service(waitstaff and bartenders) is just about as good as their food. Their crabtinis are delicious and so is their shrimp cocktail! You can’t go wrong with their lobster, petite filet, or pork chop. For their sides I recommend their spinach or au gratin potatoes. Their chocolate moose was so good too… but rich. I recommend sharing it. Update: So today one for breakfast and it was great. The server was a little slow but nonetheless efficient. There was a pretty decent selection of food at the buffet. They had biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage, waffles(waffle maker), oatmeal, grits, cereal, fruit, bagels, toast, and assorted pastries. I’m sure I have forgotten some items but that’s the gist of it. The price was well worth it. They also have a menu option, but according to the server, the only real difference was that on the menu there was an omelette option or salmon platter.

What an awesome bar and bartenders at Ruth Chris in Columbia SC. Chad mixed a delicious Ruby Red Greyhound cocktail fir me, and Raul mixed a super delicious Mai Tai for me and my friends to share. Raul even let us watch a portion of the USC v Kentucky game on his phone while sitting at the bar. I would highly recommend Ruth Chris in Columbia to friends looking for a safe, happy fun bar.
