It’s sad when the nice lady who brings you food turns out to be really rude to you and tells you that you don’t know what your talking about when I said my milkshake was nasty and tasted like cigarettes… I’m not even lying. She told me I was crazy and she didn’t offer to do anything about it when I confronted her Nicely she just said «well I used the same milk I always do, your just picky». I will not be going to smash burger ever again and it’s a shame because I normally go about once or twice a week.

Always friendly service with very reasonable prices. I usually get the avocado club grilled chicken and veggie frites, it never disappoints. My wife usually gets the spinach, cucumber, and goat cheese. There are plenty of much pricier burger joints that are almost as good. What keeps me from giving this place a 5 star is they used to give a free drink to Military being right down the road from Ft. Jackson. Literally, almost every place nearby gives a discount. I know that may sound like I feel «entitled», but don’t give something than take it away. I hope management hears me on this one.

Just ok. The fries were difficult to eat, which is strange, but true. Basically for the price you can go to 5 guys and get a much better burger. And fries. That are easier to eat. That is all

I have been here before twice. I didn’t remember why I didn’t come back.
After eating here today I remember. The burgers are very good. I think they are way over priced. The fries are good and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. I guess my only complaint was the price for a hamburger and fries. When their are other good burger places around Columbia that is cheaper.

Burger was ok… The smashfries i thought were rather taste

I went to Smashburger for the first time. My first impression was mixed. On one hand, the burger meat did taste very good and was of better quality. On the other hand, the fries had absorbed more grease than normal. When the oil temperature is not high enough, the food will tend to absorb even more oil. Their menu is packed with fried options too. Expect to gain weight faster when you eat their food. I’m giving a 3-​star rating for the quality of the burger. The night I went, the restaurant was pretty messy too with litter on the floor. It’s not a place I’d want to go back to.

One of my favorite burger places. I always order the baja burger with a chocolate milkshake and the smash fries. Everything is so good. I always eat the milkshake with my burger because that’s the best way to eat it. My secret dipping sauce for the fries are the truffled mayo with a tiny bit of ketchup (if u put too much ketchup u won’t taste the truffle mayo). One of my favorite burger place in cola.

I online ordered my lunch from here. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with regular fries and a large drink. Online ordering was a breeze, which is important to me. When I went to pick up my lunch at 1 (when you order online they estimate how quickly it will be done) my order was ready and I was promptly tended to, even though they were absolutely crushed (which is a testament to good food). When I returned home with my meal, it was still got and absolutely delicious. I will definitely do this again, but next time I’ll be more adventurous with my order. Efficiency is very important to me as is good food, and Smashburger met both of those requirements.

I came here for lunch with the boyfriend. I had to try to see if this place was comparable to Five Guys and Shake Shack. I ordered the avocado club which is a bit on the lighter side compared to their other burgers. I liked that it wasn’t too heavy compared to Shake Shack and Five Guys. Their Smash Fries were delicious with the Sweet Tea. I think Smashburger deserves it’s own category of good burgers. I can’t comment on the service because there weren’t any other customers around so I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to get my own burger or wait for it. I think because I am a New Yorker and I expect fast service, but I forgot I was down south and went to the kitchen and picked up my own order.

Overall, for my first visit, this was a total bust. I had high hopes for this restaurant. For the money I paid, I expected a lot more and got a lot less. I was hoping for a delicious burger for lunch, instead I received a less than average tasting slab of ground up meat. Half the size and less flavor than the competitors for the same amount of $$. And the drink machines were almost out of everything non carbonated. I don’t drink sodas, so this was very frustrating. No lemonade or Hi-​C. I doubt I will be back. The customer service was ok, but the food quality was horrible.

Smash Burger is delicious, experienced it the first time in Louisville! Great selection of burgers! Very convenient just off if the Interstate! Crazy good seasoned fries!

We had never been to Smash Burger before and we were driving through on our way to Charleston. We wanted something quick, but good and this was the perfect pick! The burgers were excellent, and I loved all the choices for sides. My boyfriend had the Colorado burger and fries, I made my own and had onion haystack for my side. The onion haystack was awesome, as was the rest of our food!

Without a doubt my favorite hamburger place in town. Their burgers are good. If you are looking for a good hamburger eat here.

Burgers are amazing! Grilled, juicy and fresh ingredients for the entire burger from top to bottom! You can go all out here with a burger that is sure to clog a few arteries or you can go way healthier with options that are veggie friendly and gluten free! Wow! That covers it for me when you are in the mood for an amazing burger that I would say is in the gourmet category! Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Best Hamburger I’ve ever had… the Truffle Mushroom Smashburger! Along with the Smashfries (with rosemary and garlic).
I’m a huge steak-​n-​shake fan, Culver’s fan, but Smashburger’s mushroom truffle smash burger beats em all. My wife and i loved the regular Smashburger and we usually would go and order one regular and one Mushroom Truffle burger and split each one… since we didn’t know which one we liked best. This went on for about four months and now we’ve basically decided that the Mushroom Truffle Smashburger has won the taste test. Along with the Smash fries that have the rosemary garlic on them. We try to hit Smashburger about once a month if we can. I’m glad we don’t live closer or could see this becoming a very regular place of eating!
Great food, good quick service.

Burgers are so so… Service is fast, the establishment is clean, and the people are super nice. They offer a small selection of craft and domestic beer, which is always a plus in my book! In the super competitive burger world they are an okay try…

I really love the burgers (more specifically the «classic smash burger,» and the smash fries). I was anxiously awaiting their opening on Devine (having seen a location in Charlotte, but never getting a chance to try it).
As usual when something «new» comes to Columbia, things are a bit chaotic for the first week or two, so I waited for the crowds to die down before stopping in.
The customer service I received on my first, second and even third visits were very good (owners, and managers expo-​ing food before they went out to tables and left in Togo orders)… meaning attention to detail was on point!!! Toppings were correct, extra sides were correct = happy camper!!!(there’s nothing more annoying than having to remind someone what should or shouldn’t be on/​with your order when the ticket attached to the bag clearly states it!)
I’ve tried the classic smash, spicy baja, spicy black bean (would not order again, was flavorless and paste-​y IMO — which is a disappointment since I’m going meatless now), smash fries, sweet potato fries, veggie frites (had a rubbery texture), and haystack onions.
I’ve talked to numerous people that aren’t a fan and like to compare it to 5 Guys… I do think the burgers taste completely different (both good), but Smash has more gourmet options (sauces, cheeses, buns) which I love!

My husband and I ate here for the first time a few weeks ago. By far one of the best burgers I have ever had. It was juicy and the cheese was oozing out of the sides. It was hot and fresh when it arrived at our table. It came with onions, lettuce and tomato. I would have given it 5 stars but we were not a fan of their fries, they were very skinny and tasted almost over cooked. We ordered the standard burgers and fries. They have a lot of unique combinations on the menu that we will try in the future. The service was great we didn’t have to wait long for our burgers to arrive.
We also ordered an Oreo milkshake to go that was delicious! We will definitely eat here again!

The food at Smashburger is definitely worth dealing with the less than stellar staff.
When we arrived they were busy but not full. We didn’t wait too long for our food. The burger was very tasty… the meat was flavorful and hot, melted cheese and the toppings were fresh. The presentation was also nice. The Smashfries were also delicious! I like the variety of side items and burgers. I thought it might be on the slightly pricey side. We paid about $ 18 for 2 burgers, 2 sodas and 1 fry.
The staff does leave something to be desired. A couple of people were nice but no one really interacted with us and the girl cleaning the tables was obviously not happy to be there. She was the Debbie Downer of the Dining Room. The lights in the small parking lot were also not on so it’s pretty dark.
I’d go back but I’d probably call ahead and pick it up to go.
