My brother recently turned 21.(Heaven help us all). I was coming back to DC2 days before his actual birthday so my mom planned his birthday dinner on my last night in PA. It’s a tradition that she make lasagna and everyone comes over to our house. As we were planning and making sure we had enough of everything, the brother realized we didn’t have enough beer. In PA, you can’t buy beer on a Sunday, so I was elected to cross the border to Jersey to pick up some beer. Smitty’s Liquor has been around forever and is usually the place of choice to pick up alcohol. The guys who work here are pretty friendly, however none of them offered to help carry the bottles of Leinenkugel, Yuengling or Miller to my car as most of the other places I had been to always do. However, this wouldn’t deter me from returning. All of the beer and liquor was decently priced in my opinion and there was a good variety for you to choose from. I wouldn’t expect that from such a small place but I was pleasantly surprised. They also have a little deli inside and open early so that hunters can drop in and get a quick bite to eat. Smitty’s isn’t some fancy schmancy gourmet place for booze, but it will get the job done when you’re in a pinch. I’m sure I’ll be back here whenever it is that I’m back home in PA.
