Wonderful living space! :) Lived here for 2 years in a two BD/2BA while attending U of SC for grad school. Saved a lot of money(only $ 420 rent split between my roommate and I). 12 min drive to school. Maintenance fixes issues promptly. Everything in working order. You can put in requests online.(Last few weeks before I moved out they did charge me $ 10 to fix blinds that I requested and failed to fix porch light but for 95% responded quickly). Rent payment easily made via online. Bill sent through mail(along with trash and water bill) Super easy. Lawn care/grass upkeep good. I came home feeling relaxed and welcomed. Lived in the 2nd floor so there were only light big issues, more in the summer, less so in the winter(ants mostly). Only complaint were neighbors, because the area is somewhat shady, they can’t help to avoid some drama. Depends on who you neighbors are. Some are respectful, some less so. Most of the time I felt safe. Gate helps keep out unwanted people but is usually more of a hassle when you have guests. Usually a working gate. Punch in code that goes to your phone number. Oh, and when you have packages, they go through the front office if it’s too big to fit in your mailbox. If you catch it on time(before they close), you get your package day of. Otherwise, you get your package usually the next day. Not as convenient time-wise but they make the best of the situation. Office will give you a slip«you have a package in front office». More honesty: pool is relatively good, tennis courts need an update, I had to rent out a washer and dryer while I was there(didn’t trust the apt community laundromat), and gym is small but has a few good machines. Staff very friendly. Plenty of parking. Quick access to the freeway, Harbison shopping, cheap gas stations, and dollar tree(student budget). Thank you St Andrews for making my temporary move from California to SC a memorable one!

I lived here for a year and it was a wonderful experience at first with the maintenance being very attentive and nice office staff. Even though they have new management I have continued to have a terrible experience. They started with redesigning the apartments and center, which meant that all of the amenities for the apartment were unavailable, including the pool, gym, and clubhouse; even though they continued to charge rent the same. The redesigns and changes were suppose to be done for a considerable amount of time and kept getting pushed back. The front gates were always broken and one of the amenities of this complex is suppose to be the added security. The trash was always overflowing and was rarely compacted. I had loud neighbors with arguments outside all the time and little done by management to reduce the noise or people randomly hanging out in the laundry room with alcohol late at night. Additionally, I have moved out of the apartment and continued to get billed for rent and utilities at my old address. You can never get ahold of someone in the office and I had a terrible time trying to get anyone to help me with moving out, as they would only do it on certain weekdays in the middle of the day, even though I had already moved out of town. I would never recommend this apartment to anyone.

I noticed the bad reviews, and wanted to put it out there that they have changed management since then, because my experience here has been wonderful. The maintenance staff are always very helpful and responsive, and they have fixed every problem I have had very quickly. I don’t interact with the office staff much, because we pay rent online(which is also convenient and helpful), but when I do talk to them they always seem pleasant. A landscaping crew comes every Monday and keeps the grounds really beautifully managed, and my neighbors are quiet and friendly. There are horror stories for any apartment complex, but my experiences with St. Andrews Commons have been extremely positive and I am considering resigning the lease, despite being a student and living farther than I’d prefer from campus. I definitely recommend this place!
