The Face Place

The Face Place… the place where you enter stressed from your daily grind and leave as if all your problems have disappeared.
The Face Place is located just off of Snowden Park way next to Bön Fresco. It looks small from the front, but they have plenty of rooms and space in the back.
From the time you enter to the time you leave they do a great job job of making it a true relaxing experience. They first start you off in a relaxation room, which is nice. This allows you to start the process of winding down, putting the phone away and just centering yourself. Then the masseuse come and takes you to their respective room.
I believe my masseuse was JoAnn and she is amazing! One of, if not the best massage I have gotten yet. She worked knots that no other masseuse found! Also the room was perfect from the music to the temp, it was inviting, warm and relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed the massage and will be back for many more! Look no further for your local Massage place!
Also, The Face Place offers some group massage learning classes. These are great as well, JoAnn does an amazing job teaching you hands on techniques and allowing you to work on your partner.
Overall, The Face Place is great, I would highly recommend it to everyone! Enjoy and Shh! turn your phone off

I had an appointment schedule for a spa pedicure. Two hours before my appointment I received a call asking if I could reschedule for another day. When I said no I heard a sigh and the attendant said well if your already scheduled I guess we can make it work. I promptly cancelled my appointment and rescheduled at the Pearl Spa in Maple Lawn. I will not be back.

Nicole at face place had done very effective hot stone massage for me and relieve my shoulder tension so easily. she is amazing practitioner with great skills.

Unfortunately I can’t evaluate the services here since my original appointment was accidentally erased, but the response from the staff — including the owner — was well above average and I am impressed with the attention to customer service I received. They made every effort to find me a new appointment but because I live out of state and was visiting on a short-​term basis, I was unable to re-​book.
The interior is well-​appointed and quiet — nicer and more spa-​like than other facilities I’ve visited in the area. I’ll have to return to see if I can give the fifth star for the massage/​facial quality!

I come here once a month for a massage. Love the atmosphere and the staff is amazing, always friendly and welcoming. I’ve recommend trying one of the body wraps. The oatmeal wrap makes your skin silky smooth. Always good for the winter which can be so harsh on skin. I would recommend this place to anyone who need to relax and unwind for bit.

I really, really want to like this spa. Having worked in the spa industry for years, I was excited to they them out since their website and reviews are enticing.
That being said, I found it odd that upon arriving for my facial, I was directed to wait in the lobby rather than a client lounge, nor did anyone instruct me to the changing room facilities. More odd, and slightly alarming, was that I was never asked to fill out an intake/​release form before my peel. The aesthetician never asked if I had an allergies, what my daily skin care routine consisted of, what my concerns were, or if I had even received glycolic previously (I had). Like I said, I’ve worked in the industry for years, and I’ve never experienced that level of unprofessionalism. Maybe it was an off day?
The facial itself was very nice; Her technique was experienced and confident, and overall demeanor was friendly. And the price was similar to what I’ve paid elsewhere. I’ll probably go back in a month or two to see if things are more up to par. I still really want to like them.

Not much to look at on the outside, but don’t let that deter you. Upon entering, your hit with an immediate sense of serenity — soft hued lighting, muted walls, calming music, an herbal scent and lemon water. This place is lovely and if you lead a stressful life; it’s complete heaven coming here.
This visit brought me to Nicole, where she provided reflexology — a first for me. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Seriously, how can a foot be a map to one’s body? As she rubbed her way into my foot, starting with the top of my foot/​my head, I would flinch as she stroked/​prodded and rubbed. Nicole knew exactly where my body sore spots were and she was spot on. My right foot was in agony, as it should have been, for I just had two nice sized kidney stones removed. When she started on my left foot, I was sleeping like a baby. This gal knows her stuff and is worth every penny! I’m a gabber, and she gabbed back — explaining which foot part corresponded with my body. She knows when to be quiet too, though.
This place has all sorts of wellness experiences and right around the corner is Bön Fresco — best sandwiches ever! Grab a friend, unwind at TFP & grab grub at BF.

So, I have been coming to The Face Place since before it moved, I frequented it often because they provided awesome services at reasonable prices. I stopped going because I felt like it lost some of its spa like qualities and some of the staff seemed not to care as much.
I’m so happy that I returned, what I experienced was The Face Place of yore! HA! Okay so its new location is off of Oakland Mills Road. It’s in the first shopping center to the right going away from Snowden. You can’t really see it from the road, the signage is a nice size, but if you are a first timer, there may be some difficulties.
The waiting area is nice, and if you arrive early you can partake in the relaxation room. Upon my arrival, my esthetician was immediately available. I went in specifically for the glycolic facial and I swear it was one of the best that I have had in a good long while. My tech took total care of my skin and was pretty particular about everything that I did. My skin felt so great once I left.
I’ve always dug getting massages there, and I’ve learned that the masseuses can provide massages for specific problem areas. This is the only place in the area that I know that provides this service.
I’m not sure how long they have offered the eastern medicine techniques, I don’t recall them having this at the old location. I recently tried something new, and was throroughly pleased. I can tell that the staff really enjoy what they do, and truly care about the client.
I will certainly become a regular again and I can’t wait.
Oh yea, for you frugal fanatics they offer packages that will allow you to receive monthly services for a discounted rate.
Can’t be beat.

I bought a Living Social a few months back for a foot soak and reflexology. I honestly forgot about it. When I got a reminder to use it, I went online and booked my appointment for the very next day. I arrived a few minutes late. The ladies there made me feel very welcome and offered me a cup of tea, upon arrival. I was taken back right away where they immediately went to work filling up the foot basin and making me feel comfortable, with a hot compress for my back. I enjoyed my tea and foot soak, while looking at magazines.
The place is very Zen, I felt very calm and relaxed during my stay. They did not rush through the service despite the fact that I was a few minutes late. I would definitely come back and have other serviced there.

I love this place! When you walk in, everything is calm and beautiful. The location is clean and neat and everyone is very friendly. The waiting area is cozy and has snacks along with tea and coffee you can have while you wait.
The girl I see for Brazilian waxes moved from another salon to this location and as a loyal customer, I came to check out this place. The prices are great and I will continue to keep coming back for more services. My next thing I want to try is a facial and I look forward to returning to the Face Place in the future :)

This spa is absolutely amazing! I feel like I’ve been looking for something like The Face Place and I’ve finally found it! I saw Harriet today for energy healing and had a wonderful experience. Some of their services are a bit pricey but some are amazingly affordable! They offer classes as well as services and the drop-​in rate for the classes is $ 10. I will be back to see Harriet in a couple of weeks!!!

Wonderful atmosphere and talented practitioners! Every service I’ve had has far exceeded expectations. I took family members for a spa day who were equally pleased.
Finally decided to get a membership after going for several years. Very reasonable rates

Best holistic spa in Maryland. The décor is perfect and very relaxing. Everyone is friendly and inviting. And Nichole gives arguably the best massage and reiki in the world. Definitely worth one of their membership packages, or even just a visit.

I had a pre-​natal massage here and it was great. I booked with Joanna. She’s a really nice lady and does a fantastic job. This was my first pre-​natal massage so I worried that it wouldn’t be deep enough, but she still got out the tension from my neck and shoulders. One of the features I like is that you can book online, I was able to get a same day appointment which I greatly needed. I will defintely return.

I’ve only been here a couple of times for pedicures, but it’s always a very nice experience. The staff is *mostly* professional, but could use a refresher on maintaining that professionalism even when you think there are no customers around. The most important part, though, is that my toes always come out looking perfect!
Beautiful, relaxing décor, convenient location, and decent prices makes this my new go-​to for spa services.

Joanna was amazing. I went in for a 60 minute prenatal massage and it was absolutely fantastic, I sincerely thought I had gotten a 90 minute massage! All my achy spots and stressed muscles were pampered and worked out until I felt brand new :). It was well worth the $ 85 I spent and I will be going back. I was particularly impressed with the slippers and the relaxation room while I waited for my appointment. It seems to be getting quite popular because I can’t seem to get any more same day appointments!
