They have some of the best Mexican food ibn the planet! Everything is made fresh to order! They were backed up a little today but the management took time to come see our table and comp is our food! Austin was the cashier and walked to our table to make sure we were good ! This is some of the best customer service I’ve had in years ! We need more places like these! U would eat here everyday if I could!

I saw where this was a new restaurant and thought I would try it out so my wife and I came here. They have craft beer which is a huge plus. The tacos, are flour or whole wheat tortillas which is another huge plus the food was really good and the staff was extremely friendly. Service was fast. They have a hot bar that has a huge selection of hot sauces that you can try. I will definitely be back

I was so excited to try this new place. I heard it was Tex-Mex, HA! Living in San Antonio, TX, for many years, I know what Tex-Mex is & you could not be more off the mark! Very disappointing. This town need a Chevy’s Tex-Mex! I won’t go back.

this is awesome food !!! I first tried these in Clearwater florida. I was so bummed when we moved away but now I’m stoked that they are here in Columbia which is a hop, skip and a jump from where we live in Lexington and I was also stoked to learned they have more shops planned for all over… yeah !!! This food far exceeds most tex mex places here in Columbia… if you have not tried Tijuana Flats, you are missing a treat. Get there soon. I also wanted to add this, the ladies room is painted really cute with shades of pink and purple.

Cute little restaurant in the new complex right on the corner of Forest Drive and Percival. It has a cool Hot Sauce Bar and a happy hour. The place is clean and staff was really friendly. They greeted us at the door and explained how the restaurant works as far as the menu and how to order and such. Food was also pretty good and made to order.

I would give TF’s 3.5 stars. The service was OUTSTANDING! Manager even came to every table asking if anyone needed anything And the food was tasty. The only downfall I had was only every other bite of my chimichanga had steak in it. My other bites were just of tortilla and since they don’t anything else inside, it lacked luster. Next time I’d get ground beef or chicken and maybe it would be more proportioned.

My husband and I are in our late 20’s. We live in Forest Acres, and we heard about Tijuana Flats for some time now. I had seen they opened and went in with a coupon I received in the mail for a buy one, get one free deal. I have to say, we frequent Moe’s, Chipotle, and also authentic Mexican style establishments quite often, so adding a new one to our list was a no-brainier! The location, staff, environment were all quite appealing and made it an easy process. I did notice there were no trash cans near or around for me to throw away garbage at the hot sauce bar. That was the only critique I had for the experience. As for when I got my order to go and came home, I was a bit disappointed to see how small of a portion my Norrito was. I had to add items at home to simply make it as full as the ones I get from other Mexican fast casual restaurants. Though the prices are decent, and luckily I got the buy one get one free deal, because otherwise, I would have been pretty perturbed to spend the full dollar amount on very little product. Being competitive in this market is tough, and I hope that Tijuana Flats can make some quick adjustments for their future in the area.

I had the«wet» burrito with the spicy chicken. It was fantastic. Probably the best Mexican food in Columbia(if you count Cantina 76 as cantina food). Chips very flavored with some delicious seasoning. There were like 30 different hot sauces to try or take home at the hot sauce station. Ordering and receiving food was slightly awkward, but I’m sure after a few more visits it would be no trouble. Just a little confusing that you order at the register, but end up with a server bringing your food and being the only option for drink refills. I guess that puts this restaurant somewhere awkwardly between ‘fast-casual’ and ‘sit-down’. My girl got the floutas, which were basically mini dipplable tacos with different sides to dip them in(queso, guac, etc). The food is for sure the reason to go back. Service was nice, just an awkward process.

Well to be honest having located in this location I didn’t give this place much of a chance at all. Some time went by and noticed some of the positive reviews start to roll in on Unilocal. So since I park 30 seconds away I pass this spot everyday going to work. After getting some people to go dine with me for lunch we arrived and were told teachers and military and fire dept personal get a discount on their food, so far so good with me on that. Then we were greeted with about two waitress that asked us if we had any questions and the menu or the chain. I opted for the blacken chicken w retried beans wet burrito as queso is smothered atop it for an extra dollar. Then I sampled several hot sauces to put on my chips. The sweet chili had to be my favorite sauce a lot flavor little heat. But all in all everything was good and I’ll probably be back real soon try more items on the menu.

Horrible. The hot sauce bar Is a fun idea, but we waited over a half hour for the food to come out and not only were both orders slightly wrong but they were cold. Waited another 15 or so min for them to replace my meal, that was also cold. At that point I took a box and I’ll heat it up at home. I did notice the steak burrito had hardly any meat in it. The guacamole was pretty tasty however. They brought that out fairly quickly and did warn us that they were a little behind today

If you’re not eating here, you are wrong! Dead wrong! Having lived in Colorado and having spent lots if time in Texas, I’m pretty picky about Tex Mex! I really wanted to wrap this place, because I did not like the ambience. I also like to criticize these types of places. I really couldn’t find anything wrong with the food, the friendliness of the staff, or the value! The beef chimichanga was fantastic. It was not at all greasy, and even though it was fried, everything tasted very fresh. It was very filling yet I didn’t walk out with any and gastrointestinal problems! The chips were very tasty too without being over Saul good. I strongly recommend paying a little extra and getting some queso and some guacamole. I sampled some of the homemade sauces and they were all excellent. To be honest, they really weren’t that hot, but they are good-and available for purchase. I finished my meal off with a Churro. Good choice. This was lunch and I wasn’t hungry at dinner time. I don’t like to give any place five stars-maybe this is been graded on a curve-but this place deserves super high ratings! Forget Moes and Chipotle! This is your place!

Alright, I was a huge fan of this Florida based company when I was living in Tampa Bay for 10 years. I am so glad they’ve expanded and made it to Columbia! There’s also one in Charlotte. What I loved about this Tijuana Flats is that it had a lot of the same quirks and qualities that I was so fond of. I love the hot sauce bar and friendly staff. The manager came out and asked if our meal was delicious. And she knew it was! I like confidence and they know they are doing it right. As soon as you walk in, someone is there to let you know their system. You order, then sit down because they bring everything to you. In the meantime, you can get your sauces ready! I had chicken soft tacos with black beans on wheat. They were perfect and not too small! A 3rd taco would have been too much food. They come with everything so make sure to leave off what you don’t like since it doesn’t come on the side. Lots of good stuff like fresh jalapeño, l + t, onion, sour cream, and cheese. Leave room for the churros. If anyone messes churros up there’s a problem, and TF got it perfect! Also, where can you get a local draft beer for a $ 1 upcharge on a combo? They have happy hour from 4 – 7 and daily specials. They are fast casual and budget friendly and will not disappoint.
