Tonic

I don’t know that I have ever given a single star on any of my reviews. But, I have never been less impressed with an establishment than I was with Tonic. I was so hopeful, too, because the reviews were pretty positive. From the first phone call, I should have booked my appointment elsewhere. I am a working mom and had a SpaFinder gift card given to me for my birthday back in May and I rarely get time off during the week, but I had a day off scheduled on a Wednesday and was thrilled to get some «pamper me» time. I called because initially I had Tuesday off and when I called to book a massage and facial I was told that the massage therapist doesn’t work on Tuesdays. Long awkward pause… I guess I was expecting the receptionist/​appointment setter/​front desk woman to invite me to take advantage of another service or see if I could come in on another day… But, no, nothing. I simply hung up feeling a little off about this place. But, I happened to switch my days off and was so excited – again, so hopeful… I called and scheduled a facial at 11:30 AM to get followed by a massage. The day before, I was called by the spa to confirm my time. I was thrilled! Posting on social media «Best Day Ever tomorrow!» …So, there I am at the Garners Ferry Target, wasting some time before my appointment when at 10:30 AM, I am called by the no-​personality whatsoever receptionist to tell me that my appointment time has changed to 12:45 and that it would start with the massage and then the facial. I wasn’t asked, I wasn’t given any other options… Um…In what planet does this person work in customer service? I told her I would have to gather myself and call her back because I had plans to pick up my daughter from daycare early and take her for ice-​cream (again, my day off plans were specific and important to me)…Having everything pushed back for an extra hour and fifteen minutes didn’t correlate with my time. So, I called and told her I would go in for one service (the massage). When I arrived, I was whisked into the massage room and felt so rushed and so unimportant that honestly, I wish I had just walked out. The massage was nice, so there was your single star effort. When I was finished and about to check out, I was told by the idiot front desk girl that my $ 150 spa finder gift card would only be good for a single service and stared at me like I had three eyeballs. Again, it was not my fault I couldn’t use the entire card for two services b/​c I wasn’t the one who had pushed the time back. All in all, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IN GOING HERE. I wasted $ 150 for an hour mediocre massage and no chance in hell that I would ever go back there — even if I had bothered to contact the manager to tell them my experience. (Which, if you are reading this, don’t bother to post an apology… do yourself a favor and fire your front desk person.)

My daughter seriously needed a manicure and pedicure pretty bad, so we went and found this place. This place was pretty cool. Very modern. Great customer service! We got hooked up and my daughter was super pleased with the service. She loves it! Everyone is so polite, professional, and really make you feel welcomed.

I really love coming to this place and I’m so thankful it’s so close to where I live. They have a hair salon and a day spa. I could live at the day spa.
The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I highly recommend Beverly for your manicures and your pedicures. She does a wonderful job.
Also Rebekah is who I use for my massages. They are so nice and relaxing. I never want them to end.
This place can handle all your spa needs. They also sell makeup, skincare products, nail products, and some other cute items.
They run a lot of great specials, especially during the Christmas Season. That’s a good time to stock up on the gift cards.
I highly recommend this place. It’s a great place to come and relax! Reservations are required.

Very nice salon. Staff was friendly and helpful. Took a 10 year old for her first pedi and she loved it. Would definitely return.

Awesome place for Brazilian wax. Their staff is extremely nice and place was extremely nice.

I used to travel 30 minutes away to get a brazilian wax. Once I find someone I like, I will travel no matter how long the drive. I have moved now and I miss this place. The staff was always nice. It was nice to have it near target and a dew restaurants.
