Tropical Smoothie is a fantastic choice if you are interested in a more healthy option when you are out and about in the Harbison Blvd area. The staff are typically young but friendly. I’m giving this place 4 stars for the smoothies(+5 stars), but would not recommend the food at all(–1 star). Most of the sandwiches are pretty mediocre, but will do the job if you are really hungry. Parking is plentiful and free. This restaurant is located within an outdoor mall. Overall, highly recommend. PROTIP: Call your smoothe order in at least 10 minutes before you get there to prevent waiting on your order. They put it in a special freezer /cooler, so it is ice cold when you pick it up.

They need better training of their employees. Not well trained and only one person taking orders. 12 people in line.

The tacos from here are 100% better than they have any right to be. Chain smoothie place(not even marketed as a restaurant), in a shopping center, and worst of all, they’re a health-oriented type of establishment. In fact, i would usually ignore a place like this, much less stake an entire meal. But a friend suggested the tacos, and i am a fiend, so away i went to the smoothie joint. Normally I am suspicious of any taco that hasn’t been fried up with some butter on the tortilla, and coated in a shower of cheese. These were relatively undramatic, small and clean-looking tacos. I eyeball them suspiciously, noting the healthy helping of kale over the top of one of the steak tacos. Kale cannot be trusted in a general sense, it is a harbinger for tasteless experiences. However, my first bite of taco shocked me into a fugue state. I ate a steak taco in three large bites, and my world was reeling. A decent taco? Seared, fresh steak and fresh avocado pieces, creamily meeting the cool refreshing cheese? I forgot who I was. The room spun, I stared at the tacos, trying to figure out what dark magic made these pedestrian tacos in borderline-genuine foodstuffs. People milled about the shop, ordering and receiving smoothies, having no idea that there was a secret taco stand behind the blenders. How to proceed? How to explain to them that they were living a lie? Every hallmark for the things that indicate quality in a restaurant is defied, it’s not secluded, it’s on the busiest road in the entire city, it’s not even really a restaurant for that matter. It is inexplicable. But the tacos speak for themselves.(Get the steak. You’re welcome.)

I don’t care what Tropical Smoothie Café I go to, it is always delicious! This time I got the Island Green smoothie along with the turkey wrap. This was my first time trying any of the food. The wrap was very tasty. I also got the peanut butter banana crunch flat bread and saved it for later in the day. All of it was delicious!

Simply awesome. Great food at affordable prices. An excellent value. We had a watermelon mojito, an Acai berry boost and a rocking raspberry smothies. We loved them.

If you are in a hurry don’t bother. There have been three customer complaints with no resolution in the last 30 mins. The food is sub par for the price. There was limited to no hummus on my veggie wrap. My advice, don’t go. There was a problem with my smoothie and when asked if there was a way to get something else because I was a first time customer, I was told that their policy stated that they only replace stuff if it’s their fault. My bad– I’ve never been here before and I happened to order the one the that didn’t have sweetener in it so, it tasted bitter and was not what I was looking for. And just a side note, how do I know if it’s your fault or not because I don’t know what it’s supposed to taste like, because I’VENEVERBEENHEREBEFORE. Eventually they agreed to sweeten my smoothie but my problem with this is why are you not educating your new customer on which smoothie are sweetened or unsweetened especially since I recognized myself as a first time customer when I got up to the register. After asking for the manager on duty because the«shift led» did not resolve the problem. She explained the policy again, which as a customer I don’t care about, I just want you to fix the problem. My girlfriend informed her that we had not had a great experience with the first person we asked for help from and with great hopes of a resolution the end of the conversation resulted in us being told never to come back. No worries, the lack of customer service, the sub par food and the unwilling to just remake a smoothie ended in a verbal assault by the Store Manager. I will not come back. Your slogan is eat better, feel better– neither of which happened.

So I was really craving juice. Not apple juice or orange juice but the kind of vegetable juice you get from juicing. I called Tropical Smoothie and they said they do have those types of drinks with an option that is made with Kale. I got excited and headed there immediately thinking I would be gulping something yummy with kale and maybe even ginger! Well when I got there the girl at the register did not know what juicing was and was confused when I told her that all I saw were smoothies on their menu but on the phone they said they do offer vegetable juices. Long story short, they do NOT juice here, they offer a variety of smoothies here(hence the name«Tropical SMOOTHIE Café!»), including one that is made with spinach and kale called the«Island Green Spinach & Kale.» Since I was already there I went ahead and got that and asked for it to be made as watered down as possible. The barista did do her best and I have to say considering it was a smoothie, it was a valiant attempt at being juice’s cousin. The flavor was good too. The size was huge. I think I got 32 oz or something comparable, easily enough to fill three standard glasses! The price was high, $ 5 for a drink. I think smaller sizes and cheaper prices would be better. All in all it’s a solid venue to offer a nice range of smoothies and the space is cute.

So glad this reopened! I enjoy all their smoothies, especially the mango magic and blimey limey. They seem pricey until you realize just how large of a smoothie you are getting. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised with the food here. It is FAST and tasty. My favorite is the Thai chicken wrap and all the flatbread sandwiches.
