Oh my, way too expensive! Mom and I stopped here during Memorial Day Weekend after seeing some eye-catching«everything must go» and«wall to wall sell-off» type signs posted around East Palestine the day before… and we were duped. Plain and simple, Mercantile on the Square is a relatively pricey shop consisting of legitimate antique and vintage items mixed in with some newer and mass-produced merchandise. It’s a fairly large space and carries items ranging from fancy/classic to eclectic/quirky. I suppose Mercantile on the Square is worth a stop, but don’t expect to find a diamond in the rough for a discount. I certainly don’t consider 30% off a few already-way-overpriced items here and there a big deal, especially when the ads in East Palestine would lead one to that believe deep and store-wide discounts are in store. Thumbs down for false advertising.
