M is one of the best restaurants in Columbus. Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and great service. It’s a great dining experience for a special occasion. On the flipside, M is the most expensive restaurant operated by Cameron Mitchell, and therefore, is one of the most expensive restaurants in Columbus. You can easily drop $ 100/person here if you get drinks, apps, salads, sides, and dessert. I dined here last weekend with my family for father’s day. We ordered 1 beer, 1 cocktail, 1 kid’s meal, 2 salads, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. After tax and tip, we paid $ 150-ish… and that was AFTER we used a $ 50 coupon that we got via email! So yeah, without a coupon, it’s $ 100/person. You could theoretically get away with $ 50/person, but then you’ll leave feeling like you didn’t get the full experience. At this point, I’d like to take a detour and make an analogy between Cameron Mitchell restaurants and the Porsche 911 sport car. The base 2017 Porsche 911 has 370 horsepower and costs ~$ 90k. Even with«only» 370hp, it’s a sexy car that’s likely too fast for your own good. Or you can pay ~$ 190k to upgrade to a 911 Turbo S with 580 horsepower. So while the 911 Turbo S is clearly more powerful, whether you’re willing to pay an extra $ 100k for an extra 210 horsepower… is another thing entirely. And that brings us back to M. M is clearly the best Cameron Mitchell restaurant in Columbus. But is it worth their cost premium over some of the other nice, but less expensive, Cameron Mitchell restaurants in town? That’s a conversation you’ll likely want to have with your wallet. Some people want the best, regardless of the cost. Some people would rather have something that’s still really nice, but much more affordable. If I was a millionaire, I think I’d be the type who wants the best regardless of the cost. But alas, I’m not a millionaire. So I’ll likely have to wait for the next $ 50 coupon to come along before my wife will let us splurge at M again.

M is one of the few very high end«luxury» restaurants in operation in Columbus. The type of place that exudes exclusivity and opulence. A dress code enforced type of place where you expect to see a dining room full of business people brokering deals, and old money«blue hairs» eating their routine Friday dinner. It’s very upscale. The cocktails are outstanding. Top notch crafted mixology offerings utilizing creative ingredients. Yes, the price point is high, but you have to expect that before walking in the door. The food really is great. A blend of modern American techniques with some classical French. A food program operating in this format demands excellence, and they deliver on the payoff to the guests. There is a small room for improvement, but nothing egregious. The service was close to the best I’ve experienced in Columbus. Nigel is one of the finest severs I have had the pleasure of dining with. Extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the menu. A very professional and pleasant delivery in communication. The young man takes his craft seriously, and I appreciate his skill. M is lucky to have him on staff. Overall, it really is a very nice restaurant and consistently meets expectations. Highly recommend.

This place has been on the list for long time since we love Ocean Club, their sister restaurant.(We think Ocean Club is the best restaurant in Columbus). My wife kept telling me «M is supposed to higher end than Ocean Club» so our expectation was high(or as high as Ocean Club”) 20 min after we were seated, nobody came to take our drink orders so I was about to complain to management then a server who was serving near by tables noticed and followed up with us to see if we have been helped. After I mentioned no, he said«let me help you out then». According to him, there was no clear table assignment so he wasn’t sure who was serving our table so he just stepped in for us. Throughout the night, he did a good job but food deliveries were so slow to the points where my wife and I were looking at each other and saying«wow… It is so slow here…» Yes, desert delivery was slow as well which was confusing because we thought they were pre-made. Quality of the food was good but not as good as I remember at Ocean Club. I knew it was going to be expensive(when four of us went to Ocean Club, it was a little over $ 300 including tip). At M, it turned out to be closer to $ 200 with tip for two of us. Per person base, it was more expensive than Ocean Club and I had been trying to figure out why there was a huge difference but it is a mystery… Our conclusion is to keep going to Ocean Club and not to come back to M.

I had high hopes for this place. The biggest disappointment was the lobster mashed potatoes. They came out with puddles of oil on top. Kind of gross actually. The appetizers were decent. Service was friendly. Some of their drinks are actually quite good. I was neither impressed nor disappointed with my snapper or my girlfriends sea bass. My rating reflects price versus quality. In general, I think the seafood is mediocre for what they charge. I dont mind paying a lot for dinner, but I expect to be impressed.

From the moment you walk in til your check the service here is on top of it. Coat check, the quick refills of water, the very very attentive waitstaff. I can tell that the waitstaff is trained very well to look for your eating cues. For food I had the tomato bisque with goat chese crostini, the 3 cones, the ahi tuna seared with foie gras and truffle reduction, and lastly the lemon crème brûlée. As I am writing this I slippin into a food comatose already. All of the food was very well balanced in taste. The soup was poured table side. It had some sort of green flavored oil and a crostini in it and very hot soup poured live. My only tiny little gripe was that I was I had maybe just goat cheese mousse quenelles itself off the crostini. The 3 cones are were had lobster topped with 3 different kinds of caviar(wasabi tobiko, ikura, and classic caviar) and on the side was chopped hardboiled egg with house cured salmon. The taste was on point with this dish. It was a little difficult to eat because as I ate the cone, it broke into several pieces. For my entrée the ahi tuna was seared to my liking, came with a truffle reduction, and the acompaniements of vegetables and foie gras were a nice addition. It was nice to have a mild truffle flavor. There are many a times where too much truffle is added where it overwhelms the rest of the ingredients. Again, well balanced. For dessert I could not pass up the lemon crème brûlée. It came with blueberry compote and some small dessert bar that I forgot. Having the blueberry compote gave it a nice tartness so that you weren’t overloaded with sweetness. It tricks your tastebuds into thinking you can eat it all. Then when you eat it all you regret how much darn food you ate.

This is an upscale restaurant. As you drive to it you go through an impressive gated community type of entrance, and the restaurant sits in the building on top of the long curvy driveway. Valet is probably your best bet at parking here, and like other places in Columbus, valet is cheap($ 7). You then enter through what looks like a high-end corporate building(actually, I think its a residential building), and the restaurant is on one end. The ambience is upscale and swanky. The view of the bridge in the back at night adds to the appeal. We waited for about 15 – 20 minutes at the bar while our reserved table was being made ready. I didn’t mind that too much since there was plenty of seating at the bar. The bar table top had illuminated lights underneath, which gave it a very modern chic look. Once seated, the server was very attentive and helpful. We ordered the foie gras(for some reason they call it only foie) and the spicy tuna rolls as appetizers. The foie gras was delicious, but very tiny, difficult to share among four. There were 8 spicy tuna rolls, good but quite ordinary(nothing that you can’t have at an ordinary sushi place). For dinner, my wife ordered the Ahi tuna and I ordered the steak in a bowl Rossini style(which was a 10 oz fillet with foie gras on top). Our friends also ordered the steak in a bowl. I ordered my steak medium rare, and it came out close to medium well, so I sent it back. One of my friends ordered her’s medium well, but it came out well done, and she was too hungry to send it back. They re-prepared the steak for me, and this time around it was done perfectly. The fois-gras on top went really well with it. My wife’s tuna was tasty but we’ve had better. When the bill came, they didn’t charge me for the steak, which was a very classy move, but one they really didn’t need to do. Still it was pricey — over $ 200 a couple, but we did have two bottles of wine. So, based on just the food alone, I wouldn’t give it very high marks. However, the ambience, the service, and the overall atmosphere is well worth a visit.

This place was. so. delicious. My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s dinner and everything was excellent. Started out with a glass of Sauvingon Blanc that was excellent while my boyfriend had the vanilla old fashioned(which I refused to taste, but he said was great!). I had the dragon roll as an appetizer and it was very good. For entrees, I had the salmon with gnocchi and lobster. It was probably one of my favorite meals ever! My boyfriend got the chicken which came with two ginormous chicken breasts and was also very delicious. For dessert, we had the chocolate lava cake with caramel ice cream which was a perfect end to a wonderful dinner. Absolutely love this place! If you are looking for a fancy night out in Columbus, I definitely recommend this!

Yum! My husband and I went for our anniversary and had a great time. The valet was quick and attentive, ladies at reception greeted us warmly and wished us a happy anniversary. We were a little early so we went to the bar. The drinks were delicious and served quickly and the bartender was friendly and talked about local breweries with my husband. We were seated by the window with a city view. It was nice and dark and romantic! We got the cones for a starter and they were amazing. I got the scallops, which were cooked to perfection, and my husband got sushi. He said the surf and turf roll was the best he’s ever had. The lobster mashed potatoes were to die for, with huge chunks of lobster in them. We split the coffee and donuts for dessert and they comped them for our special occasion. The waiter also gave my husband a free stout for dessert since he’s a craft beer enthusiast. We didn’t really look at prices when ordering and were expecting the bill to be around $ 250 but were pleasantly surprised that it was only $ 125(my husband had several fancy pants beers included in this total). I’d definitely recommend for a date night and we will go again.

We dined here during restaurant week. We waited about 40+ minutes for a table past our reservation time. We found a table at the bar to wait and the host was very professional in checking back with us and apologizing for the wait once a table became available. We ordered from the prix fixe menu with wine pairings with some additional items from the full menu. Ambience — The place is a little swanky. I felt like we were in Manhattan or Los Angeles, not Columbus. But that’s okay. It is nicely finished and it is great to have this type of «escape» once in a while. Great views of the city as well. Food — Ahi sushi roll. Okay, good, nothing special. Can order similar many places, should have selected something else from the menu. Roasted tomato soup with goat cheese sandwich. Good, nicely done. Salmon entrée with gnocchi and haricot vert. Great flavor and presentation. Beef short rib with red wine reduction. Again, great flavor and presentation. Cameron’s always does this dish nicely. Lobster mashed potatoes. Highly recommend sharing this side dish. Lave cake with caramel ice cream. Great. Lemon crème brûlée. Great presentation and taste. Yum. Service — The host, server at the bar, and our server during dinner were all very professional and get two thumbs up. The wait however for our reservation and somewhat slower service during dinner take this review down a star. Please note that our server during dinner provided impeccable service, very well trained, very cordial, it was none the less slow due to the number of tables he had. This place is a must see for the Columbus foodie. I recommend putting on your bucket list and checking it out at least once.

I have been going here for years, and there’s a reason for that. Top notch food, great service, and cool atmosphere. The latest visit was a major disappointment. Full disclosure — it is restaurant week, the week where restaurants overbook themselves and under-deliver. Reservation was for 8pm, was seated around 8:45pm. No comp for the drinks, no big deal. Our waiter was clearly more interested in other tables. This was an agonizingly slow experience from start to finish. I have to say, the food was not quite on point with what I am used to. It was certainly good, but just felt a bit generic(restaurant week, I guess). Just because you pay slightly less for a special week should not indicate less effort, quality, or service. As a process engineer, how can one of the best restaurants in Columbus be using their wait staff to bus tables concurrently during the busiest week of the year? The last thing I want to see is my waiter bussing endless empty plates off a table while my empty plate sits in front of me. And then, closing and paying the bill. I didn’t think it was going to end. Not once did anyone ask how my meal was, etc. until we got our coats. The guy asked us how things were, I told him it was terribly slow, and he didn’t even react. The whole experience made me think that they despise restaurant week and couldn’t wait for the night to end.

Only a good restaurant and it only deserves a total of two stars due to the waiter and staff. If I give you my drink ordered in a certain way, why would your bartender serve«her» own recipe? Only after serving four drinks the waiter says they were out of two ingredients which leaves only two ingredients to make my drink. I understand there are various ways to make an Espresso Martini. But do not charge someone for partial drink and call it complete. This is why I have my own card with the printed recipe. Now that I have that off my chest, the food was delicious but lukewarm. It was as if the food was done and then was put into a warmer until the whole table was ready to be served. Overall, slow service all the way around. Menus were not seen for twenty minutes and I had to clear my excess used glasses from our table. Our celebration for my son’s birthday was a dud. For that price, we could have gone to another place and had a lot better services.

Ok this has been my Cameron Mitchell’s go to place for years. I love the ambiance and the whole awesome vibe of this place. I mean I can’t say enough about how awesome the bartenders are and they have my favorite martini the Black Orchid. One if the things I love is that their menu is ever changing so I’m never sure what treat I’m in for. I pretty much get something different every time I go. It’s a place where I can have illusions that I’m in the upper two percent of income earners if only for a night. I’ve never had less than impeccable service and the food is always out of this world. Celebrating my birthday and Veterans Day we outdid ourselves once again. We started off with the lump crab meat and crostini appetizer and it was off the hook. Omg the crab was so fresh and tasty as was the perfectly toasted crostini. I ordered the sea scallop dinner and my hubby got the salmon dinner. We also got the lobster mashed potatoes. We both enjoyed our entrees but the lobster potatoes were off the hook. I mean the best I’ve ever tasted in this city and that’s saying more than a mouthful. Yup my taste buds will be leading me back here in the not too distant future!

It becomes increasingly hard to impress her on her birthday thanks to all those great restaurants we enjoyed around the world. But M Restaurant is the one in Columbus. Noticeably, a birthday notice was spread from the host to the server and then to the kitchen as well. Ambiance As part of our late night privilege and their hospitality, we were seated in a private circle booth with gentle pink lighting and romantic long curtains from the ceiling. We arrived at 10:00pm, and it was expected that the restaurant was quiet and spacious, which provided a better mood to enjoy the night view of Scioto River and Columbus skyline. Service Our server Josh was definitely an exceptional guide and help. He offered excellent recommendations and pairing suggestions. An birthday dessert and a personalized birthday message were also delivered to our table by him. Great knowledge and hospitality! Food It was obvious that chef made each plate with care, details and creativity. Sea scallops were undoubtedly among the best we’ve ever had: fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Veal were also well prepared, cooked, sliced and served. Crème brûlée with a gift dessert and birthday card was her favorite! Menu was clear and efficiently highlighted. Ask their knowledgeable servers for wine recommendations, and make sure you try their signature blossom cocktail, ladies! Overall M is truly a fine dining in Columbus, with romantic and artistic touches. I’ll definitely come back and will spread the word.

This place is just beautiful. Very upscale and relaxing. The service was great. Me and a good friend of mines went there for restaurant a while back. The food was great. Let me just say the Lobster mashed potatoes were out of this world. That alone will make me go back. It’s in a great area. We ended up walking around the Scioto mile afterwards and got to enjoy a free concert. Amazing entrée with great presentation. Our waiter was so great.

One of the best restaurants we’ve been to in Columbus. The atmosphere is relaxed and upscale, the service is attentive and friendly. Our server gave us detailed and accurate recommendations based on our questions and all the food was well thought out and perfect. Everything is made in house down to the ice cream and bread. Even the bartender was creative and made a delicious a virgin drink for me on the fly that tasted just like my favorite pair martini! For an appetizer we had the foie gras which was perfectly cooked and a delectable Fetty pillow of deliciousness. For salads I had a smartly paired goat cheese mousse and red beet salad with pistachios and my husband had a classic Caesar salad that was well done. for dinner my husband had the Seabass that was perfectly salty from the Mirin and was moist and melted in your mouth. My on he tuna was rare in paired with a delicious reduction that was complex and even the mushrooms in carrot ribbons were perfectly cooked had deep levels of flavors. For dessert we had the honey pie which tastes similar to a pecan pie without the nuts but a dominant honey flavor that was complicated by homemade vanilla bean ice cream and apple compote. It was a perfect portion and not too heavy after a lengthy meal. Overall, exceptional, genuine service, upscale atmosphere, thoughtful, well-crafted and skillfully prepared food. Not the absolute best meal of my life but very delicious, and the best I’ve had in Columbus. We will definitely be back.

I came here tonight for an Anniversary dinner with my boyfriend and it was phenomenal. M did not disappoint us one bit. Service was awesome! Our server’s name was Nigel, he was super friendly and always had a smile and great suggestions. As weird as it sounds, but I’m a huge person on the quality of water and may I tell you, M’s water is THEBEST water I have ever tasted. On to the more important things. THEFOOD — We started off with the Caterpillar roll, best sushi I’ve had in a while. The ginger that came along with it complimented the sushi perfectly. I got the Scallop entrée and it was okay, but the price was a little too high for just four scallops. My boyfriend got the Chicken entrée and it was delicious and filling. Would definitely come back! :)

My husband and I came for an early(5:15) dinner Saturday night for restaurant week. We arrived a bit too early so we waited a few minutes for valet, but had no problem with that. We were seated right at 5:00, which is when they open. They have a patio but we forgot to ask for that. We had been here once before, for an anniversary several years ago. It’s very pretty here. We were fairly dressed up, since it is an upscale place. Side note: It’s always disappointing to see other patrons in a) shorts and t-shirt, and b) a ball cap. Bill E. had the same meal I did, and his food descriptions in his review ring true. My husband and I enjoyed our meal very much. Our cocktails and wine were delicious. Our server(I am sorry I cannot remember his name) was wonderful. We enjoyed talking to him and he did a great job. I posted pictures but unfortunately ate the crème brûlée before I remembered I wanted to take a photo.

I came here with my VP and her husband for dinner on Thursday night for restaurant week and M didn’t disappoint. We were greeted promptly and seated promplty in David’s section. He went through the restaurant concept and allowed us to peruse the menu. When it came time for ordering David made several suggestions and they were home runs. The bread that was brought out was a sourdough with softened whipped butter and smoked red sea salt. First course for me was the tomato soup with a mini goat cheese sammy in the bowl, the soup was very good, it had great tomato depth. My vp ordered the sushi and loved it and her husband ordered the Caesar and proclaimed it was one of the best he has ever had and he wanted to buy some of the dressing. Main course I ordered Salmon which is what David suggested and it was delicious, perfectly cooked with house made gnocchi and more, it was the perfect portion and paired greatly with the wine David suggested. My boss and her hubby ordered the short rib and it was so tender accompained with roasted root veggies and mushrooms. Dessert was divine two of us ordered the Lemon crème brûlée and the other ordered the chocolate cake. The lemon crème brûlée had a nice size portion was cooked perfectly with a nice burnt sugar crust and accompained with a linzer cookie. I had parked in the garage since no street parking was open, I asked if M validated parked and even though they didn’t David found a card to get me out of the garage free. The regular menu reads very well and we all commented M is a gem in Columbus. I highly recommend M to everyone.

Celebrated my birthday with dinner at M, and overall it was a good experience. Our reservation was a 8pm. When we arrived at 7:57, I joked with my boyfriend that they wouldn’t seat us because we were 3 minutes early. Turns out, they were having a busy night. They asked us to have a seat in the bar, and they would come find us. 10 minutes at the bar and we finally got a drink menu. 10 minutes later and the bartender returned to get our order. An additional 10 minutes go by before our cocktails are delivered, with apologies. So… we’re 30 minutes behind our reservation time and still not seated. I ordered the Black Orchid, and it was very sweet but perfectly delicious. He ordered a bourbon concoction from the menu which he also enjoyed. 40 minutes after our reservation time, we are asked to follow a hostess to our table. Our server was with us promptly, and proceeded to give fantastic service the rest of the night. I ordered scallops, he ordered the«steak in a bowl». I also ordered wine, requesting that the staff make a pairing to go along with the scallops — it was spot on. The«steak in a bowl» was phenomenal. The scallops were better than OK, but not the best I’d ever had. Desserts were fabulous as well. I had the chocolate lava cake, and my boyfriend ordered the coffee & donuts. Overall, the service was fabulous and the food was very good. Negatives were the 40 minute wait past reservation time, and the super bro-tastic douchenozzle berating his wife all evening at the table next to us. While that’s not the restaurant’s fault, it certainly didn’t help the evening along. The review is short of 5 stars because of the extended wait past the reservation time and the slow bar service to start the evening. A perfect place for celebrations, and we’ll likely consider going back in the future.

I had been waiting to try M for three and half years now so my expectations were high. The dining room is beautiful. Sheer curtains divide the larger room into smaller spaces. Our table of 6 had its own space overlooking the river. Spectacular! Our waitress was very friendly and helped us decide on cocktails. I had to try the Black Orchid. The cocktail was tasty but very sweet so be prepared. I had the salmon feature which was the traditional menu salmon prepared with bamboo rice and frisée salad. It was full of flavors and textures that lived up to my expectation. The chocolate lava cake with in house caramel ice cream was divine. What a great way to end the meal! Will try happy hour next time I visit.

We went here for a celebration dinner. Its a little bit outside of downtown. Just follow your GPS. There isn’t much else around it so you aren’t likely to get lost. We went in. Its a very pretty place. More typical for a place in a city like New York or LA to me than Columbus. It was almost completely empty on a Thursday night. The bar area was very nice and we want to back to try happy hour. The good: Our table of five was seated in a little area that was surrounded by white curtains so we had some privacy. This was awesome. We also had a view of the river and city. Also awesome. The drinks were very fun. My fiancés had a flower inside of a giant ice-cube!(Its their signature drink) and everyone at the table tried a different cocktail. All were good and all were fun. We split sushi appetizers. Typical sushi but actually a reasonable price. The entrees were all very pretty(see pictures). The mediocre: My ahi tuna was in cubes. It was over seared on every side so to get to the rare/medium rare tuna in the middle(the good stuff!) I had to get through a lot of wasted over cooked fish :(. Entrée was still good though. The bad: When we parked($ 7 Valet… I think this was the only option), they said they were so non-busy they would just park in front of the restaurant. He took my car and literally drove it 100 feet to park. Literally. Convenient to get out, but still cost $ 7. Its an expensive place. Expect to pay. Also, the bathrooms are outside of the restaurant. Not a big deal. Just odd. Great restaurant for a special occasion or if you feel like you want to splurge. Probably not worth the money for me to go back outside of happy hour(and by not worth the money, I really mean, I don’t have the money).

M at Miranova goes above and beyond expectations! It may be easy to miss when you’re driving, parking garage isn’t as clear either but those are just minor details. Upon arriving, it was freaking beautiful! The ceiling, the paintings as well as the layout of the restaurant is creative and remarkable. The employees are great, they know their products really well and love to talk to you about whatever you’re curious about on the menu. Even the manager comes around just to make sure everything is going well. As for the food, best salmon I’ve ever had! The salmon is seasoned and cooked to your order. We also ordered the chicken. The sauce the chicken was covered in was excellent. The proportions were reasonable so you won’t leave hungry. We still ordered dessert even though we were pretty stuff. The crème brûlée was a great way to end the meal, make sure to ask for their sugar cookies. The sugar cookies topped off with some crème is heaven on earth. We definitely plan on going again, enjoy yourself!

Superb service. Mildly pricy for content but it’s worth it for a special occasion or a treat. Tuna is amazing and the Chilean sea bass is to die for. Subtle and tasty as hell. Cones for starter — very varied and a nice light option. Drinks are varied and the cocktails are truly impressive. The margarita is spicy and the smoked salt on the rim is worth a mention on its own. Valet parking or a garage two floors under. Go. It’s worth it.

COLUMBUS, OH: Excited to try this innovative New American restaurant with soaring ceilings and intimate details. Greeted by a friendly hostess and server. I had the fortune to try several menu options: Foie:(4.5 stars) This was a pairing of foie and pork over lentils. The lentils were nothing special, but the foie and pork were exquisite. Scallops: 5 Stars-perfectly cooked large diver scallop on a spicy ratatouille and pea purée. Three Cones: 5 star presentation/3 star taste, like a seafood salad in a sweet wafer. Lobster Mash Potatoes(3 stars): these were buttery and very plain whipped potatoes with a generous helping of lobster on top. Felt a little lazy. Truffle Mac and Cheese(5 stars): These were delicious, but I didn’t taste any truffle; the rosemary overpowered any other seasoning. I like«rosemary Mac and Cheese» so I enjoyed the dish, but I didn’t detect any truffle taste. Service and ambience were 5 stars! Excellent!

This review is long overdue. I actually went here, or should say was happily taken here, for my birthday a couple months ago. It was amazing! From the moment we walked in, we had a fantastic experience. The maître d’ knew it was my birthday and asked me how my day was. He then escorted us to a private booth with a great view of the restaurant. We ordered a medley of dishes and were not disappointed. Each dish was better than the next. My favorites of the night were the black orchid martini(beautiful to look at and wonderfully sweet) and the coffee and donuts dessert(which was complimentary for my bday!). One of the donuts fell during transport and the server brought us two more! We were beyond stuffed by the end of the meal but in the best way possible. It’s a bit pricey but this is one of those places where I can, without reservation, say that you get what you pay for! Some of the dishes are probably more worth it than others(the king crab, for example, was delicious but probably not worth $ 29 for an appetizer). Overall though, I give this place a solid 5(+).
