African Euphoria Braiding

This was the worst place I have ever been too. Crazy thing is I have been here before and received good service. Not sure what the case was Sunday. First off I called and booked an appointment the day before. I got a call that morning asking to come in early, which was fine. I got there at 10 am my appointment was at 12. They acted like they forgot they just called me! so they were doing two girls heads and 4 people where there. They told me one minute. While I waited, there was a baby in the shop throwing chips on the ground and eating them, they were screaming and yelling in French. Little did they know, I AM VERY FLUENT IN FRENCH and understood every word. Let’s just say they have a lot of problems between them all. They finally sat me in a chair because I got up to go smoke. They didn’t want me to leave. It was 12:45 pm and no one had touched me ! WASTE OF TIME ! I left and got my hair done elsewhere

Absolutely nothing fancy about this place. Matter of fact, the salon is in poor condition. The waiting area seating is torn, damaged flooring and ceiling panels along with many other building issues. I would not say the place is dirty, just dated and unkept.
This is truly a typical African braiding salon. You will get braids and nothing else. No shampoo, flat iron or styles, just braids. They braid well. From cornrows, box braids, two strand twist to all the other braid styles. The prices are comparable to other places — $ 175.00 for box braids, with two stylist. I believe it’s $ 40 cheaper with one stylist, but that will take 9 hours verses four.
The customer service is friendly, but their is definitely a language barrier. Bring your own entertainment because no one speaks in English, rather no one talks in English while doing the customers hair. You feel a little left out, according to my daughter.
Besides the poor condition of the salon, the only other issue I had was the form of payment. There is a sign clearly on the front door and inside the business plus a credit card machine that lets you know credit cards are accepted. The stylist insisted that I pay in cash. Maybe I looked untrustworthy?! She apologized and said that was her preference. Oh well, a run to an ATM is not the end of the world, a minor inconvenience.
So for a no frills salon visit, painless — rather semi painless braids done in a decent amount of time, here is your spot.
