This is a great repair shop! Reasonable bench fee and the work was outstanding. I had a damaged tone arm wire that needed fixed while installing a new cartridge, and Michael got everything fixed for less than $ 100 — that includes the bench fee and the partial hourly rate. He also set up the new cartridge/tone arm and everything now sounds incredible!

Straightforward and honest. I blew an internal fuse on my amp. They said it would be about $ 40 for the bench test and a month to fix. They called me back in just under a month, and said it was only an internal fuse and that the bench test covered the costs. Definitely much friendlier than Stereo Lab on Indianola. I only wish Audio Wright had better hours… it is not easy if you have a job with regular office hours to make it for a pick up or drop off.

I’m a bit of an audiophile. I don’t drop $ 5,000 on an amplifier, but I try to buy good gear when I buy it. I’ve had a Yamaha amplifier and carousal-style cd player since 1992 – 93 which I bought when I was stationed in Germany with the Air Force. I spent about ¾th of a month’s pay to buy those two, not counting the Klipsch speakers I bought to go with them. So when the amp started having a crackle in the audio years ago, I tried everything I could think of to clean it. I used to work at an audio parts company and still had friends there, so I purchased cleaner and gave it my all, but the amp was just not to be fixed. So they got stowed away for the better part of 6 years. Recently, I pulled out the CD player and hooked it up only to discover the tray would no longer eject or move at all really. After that I spent some time thinking about getting rid of my old audio gear, but then I realized they were nearly antiques and that made me really want to get them working again. I found Audiowright on Unilocal, called them up, and dropped off my equipment about a month and a half ago. I didn’t have high hopes as the gear was old. How could you find parts for any of this? Well the guys at Audiowright recognized right off that my amp had been one with a faulty selector switch. And promised to give my CD player a good look over to see what was wrong with it(a broken belt). There were parts to be ordered and shipped from Japan and a lot of cleaning to do, and they did a great job of pulling it all together. $ 200 later I have my two favorite pieces of audio equipment back and playing in pristine condition. Listening to Radiohead and Miles Davis, I would swear they sound better than when I first bought them and rocked the block during balcony parties at the dorm on Sembach Air Base. Some may balk at the cost, but I absolutely got my money’s worth. If you love your electronics the way I do and only buy quality stuff, Audiowright is the place to take it when it needs some tender loving care.

You’re certain to miss this place the first time you set out to find it, which is a shame because this is the finest electronics repair shop that I’ve dealt with while living in Columbus. I purchased a Panasonic home theater system for Best Buy right before I moved to Columbus about 5 years ago, and of course it decided to start acting up on me about a week after both the manufacturer and Best Buy warranties ran out. For whatever reason, the audio from the optical input on the back that I had my computer wired in to would cut about 15 minutes after I started playing it. After that it would start to make this hissing static noise that would be unbearable to listen to. the problem only got worse over the next couple of weeks, and soon enough it stopped working entirely. I searched on the internet to see if this was a common problem, but the only results I found were tomes of PDF manuals that offered little help on the topic. After bringing the receiver in to Audiowright, the guy behind the counter knew exactly what was wrong with it just by looking up the model number on his computer. As it turns out, the unit I got was part of a bad batch that had been having this same problem in perpetuity ever since it was put on the market some 5 years back. He was surprised that mine had held out for so long, as most of them were either recalled or subject to a free refurbishment at wherever it was purchased. Anyways, the problem was a simple fix that only required a small and common part from Panasonic and a little bit of soldering. I came back two days later, picked up my stereo, and it’s been working perfectly ever since. Seeing as the work was such a simple undertaking for them, they only charged me around $ 5 for the part and $ 25 for the labor. Not too bad considering the stereo cost me over $ 600 when I bought it new. Although I hope I never have to come back here again, Audiowright will certainly be the first place I take any electronics that need repair work.
