This place is brilliant — once you find it :-), great down to earth owners with a keen eye. Easy going relaxed atmosphere, good beer, large bottle beer selection and you can even go to the races without leaving the place! I encourage those of you in Madison to make the effort to come up and take a look around. it wont disappoint. Nick

I love, love, LOVE this place! It’s something different than your average Wisco bar. Great atmosphere and there are conversation pieces galore. Good craft beer selection and great cocktails. Snacks and frozen pizza available. If you are there with a good sized group, make sure to ask the owner if he’ll run the horse race for you. Ideal place to go for a tasty beer and good conversation with friends.

We took a drive to Columbus to see Badger Motor Car Company on a recommendation from a friend from Illinois. He said«You guys have to see this place, you are going to absolutely love it!» Wow, was he right! We found it pretty easily, as it is just a few blocks off the main street in Columbus. The building was a former Casket Factory. We weren’t sure what to expect when we first walked in to the little entryway which has a reception desk and a few«old» things to look at. It seemed like we entered into just another antique store. But then we walked into the main room… super cool. You’ll see cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and all kinds of great old collectibles set up throughout the area. The most eye-catching is the old popcorn wagon next to the bar… yes, the bar… score! Not only is this place filled with all kinds of great things to look at, you can do it with a beer or cocktail in your hand. Darvin, the owner, is super. Laid-back, passionate about not only his place, but the whole town of Columbus. After wandering around his place while enjoying a couple of beers and good conversation, Darvin gave us suggestions as to what streets we should walk in Columbus to see the beautiful homes and businesses in the town. The different styles of architecture are really stunning as is the bank designed by Louis Sullivan. He also suggested we come back after we wander around as the place starts to get jumping later in the day. And we did… and it did… We especially enjoyed the horse races. Check it out for yourself, it is definitely worth the drive to see one of Wisconsin’s wonders.

This place is a feast for the eyes and a must-see for collectors and history enthusiasts. It’s a bar housed in an old casket factory whose owner has filled the place with classic cars, motorcycles, signs, and knick knacks. They don’t serve food but the very gracious owner will happily recommend places nearby. Definitely worth an excursion from Madison.
