Excellent food, very flavorful, didn’t drift far off the beaten path and stayed with the Pad Thai, turned out to be a great choice. Service was good, great atmosphere!

Very nice Thai inspired/themed décor. The classic jazz playing throughout caught my attention, but it’s perfect for making the mind and body relax. I tend to always try a Thai restaurant’s Papaya Salad. However, and it turned out to be a perfect decision, I opted for Bamboo Café’s MANGO Salad to start. It was lush and fruity-sweet. Better flavor than green papaya. Insanely addictive — I’d eat this dish every day, thank you very much. Two goals with this evening Thai meal: 1) try something new, and 2) make sure the dish has a good array of veggies. So many veggies offered for #61, and it was new to my tongue, so it won out. This dish has a good amount of small pineapple pieces(all be it, I think, based on the shape, they came from a can not freshly chopped). It was a good yin to the chicken and brown sauce’s yang. 100% elated with all the veggies! Yes, I agree with many that the price is slightly high for the quality/quantity. If it were a bit lower, I’d be in serious trouble. But, I can see myself stopping back here. Shoot, I’d come back for the Mango Salad alone!

I thought this place was pretty good. The inside is filled with bamboo and other Thai decorations which feel pretty relaxing. I ordered the red curry rice with the tom kha soup. The red curry rice was flavorful and spicy. The tom kha soup had a nice mild spice.

Being there several times for their green curry rice, very delicious. The different curry in different color provides different degree of spicy taste, so even people like me who can barely stand spicy food can enjoy it. The service there is also very good. Worth a visit.

I’ve been here twice and my food the first time was a 4 this time a 3 so since 3.5 isn’t an option I’m going with a solid 3. I love pad woon sen, something about those glass noodles really rocks my socks. The first time we dined in, everything came quickly in and was flavorful. I love spicy food, asked for a level 8 and they really spiced it to that level. the noodles were good and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. The Thai Iced Tea like always was a hit. I ordered a second time for carryout and while everything was good the meal fell flat. It was NOT spicy at all and the flavor was just ok. I will keep it on my list because it is a solid place and if I have more experiences like the first I will happily dole out that other star

I don’t understand why the reviews for this place aren’t higher. I’d give it 4 ½ stars if I could. The Tom Yum soup with Shrimp was very, very good. No shortcuts taken here, as was evidenced by kaffir lime leaves right in the broth. And it didn’t have the odd sweetness that the Tom Yum at so many other Thai restaurants in the area do. The Pad Thai with Shrimp was also excellent. The noodles weren’t overdone. The sauce seemed fresh and house made. I could’ve used a few more shrimp in it, but the shrimp tasted good, at least — not like chemical-laden farm-raised shrimp. The Thai Iced Coffee was sweet and delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly. Overall, a very nice lunch spot!

The tom yom fried rice with tofu(extra spicy) was so spicy my whole face was watering — yet at the same time, I couldn’t stop eating it, it was so delicious! My stomach burned for the entire afternoon, and the next morning. It is a testament to how flavorful and yummy this place was that I didn’t even regret the pain — all I kept wondering was, «When is the next time I can go back»? Adorable décor, wonderful and warm service, generous portions, and perfect price. I will be back soon for more sweating and suffering!

We’ve been here twice now and left both times very satisfied. The menu is extensive and there are plentiful vegetarian options. I’ve found the portion sizes to be just right for me – I never leave overly-stuffed, nor do I need a box. And I think it’s a great value at lunch. They do tofu just right, and their sauces are delicious. I would caution that I recently ordered the ginger tofu, and, when asked how spicy I would like it, requested«spicy»(options being mild, medium, spicy, and very spicy). I like spicy food, but«very spicy» likely would have melted my face clean off, so I’m glad I went with regular ol’ spicy. The ginger really sings in the dish, with perfectly prepared veggies and tofu. Service has always been immaculate. I love any place that still does cloth napkins, which is a great touch. My only qualm(if this can even be considered a qualm) is that, on our last trip, our server was almost aggressively eager to give us more water. Like, «Oh, you took two sips, here’s more water.» And I’m one of those people who likes to say«thank you» every time the server comes to the table, so it’s mildly distracting. Like, dude, just leave the pitcher on the table and stop interrupting every 2 minutes. You are waterboarding us with icy cold refills. All in all, I really like this place.

This place is tucked away off of bethel rd in a strip mall. Never expected to have food so good. We started with the fresh spring rolls which were very refreshing and light. We then proceeded to have the Red curry and pineapple fried rice. The curry was excellent and I could really taste all of the ingredients. The pineapple fried rice was exceptional. It was the perfect amount of sweet and savory. I couldn’t stop eating it. I will be back again very soon.

Under new ownership! Beware. Menu is the same… food is NOT! It is the end of an era. Went in to order my favorite, the #90 noodle bowl with spring role. Yuck! Not the same. We miss Min and her mother and will never return!

Bamboo Café is the only place in Columbus where I’ve found Thai food I’ve liked. They use the right kind of Thai soy sauce and broccoli(accept no substitutes) and the prices are reasonable. The Phở is also quite tasty, though I always seem to end up defaulting back to Pad See Ew. The portions are a bit on the small side, but it doesn’t stop me from going back.

If you want a nice setting with Thai food come here. I came here the other day with a friend of mine on accident and we were glad! Order the thai fish with rice. I can’t remember the name of it but I think it’s the only fish on the menu. It was delicious.

If you desire tasty entrees in an intimate, stylish setting served by pleasant staff – then the Bamboo Café is an excellent choice. Often, I find it challenging to find a restaurant that has good food where you can feel comfortable – but, is not too crowded. In addition, the décor is pleasing to the eye.

A very small place but the interiors are good. Good for a family of four. Not good for parties. The service was really quick which made me think they are trying to move people out so fast so that they can accommodate more people in. The chicken Satay is good. The fried rice needs some improvement. 4⁄5 for decoration, 3.5÷5 for the food. You should try once.

Pad Thai is bland, more bean sprouts than noodles. Chicken egg rolls are dried out and nasty. Would not recommend.

Decoration: not bad… there was plenty of bamboo in the restaurant. Food: I tried the yellow curry(in «simmered» coconut milk) with potatoes, onion, and chicken. The curry was light(or runny) and didn’t seem too simmered; I appreciated how they didn’t overdo the curry powder and make it gritty. The curry sauce tasted good! I didn’t really mind a runny curry because this means it can flavor more rice. Unfortunately, the meal only came with 1 scoop of rice. I asked for a second scoop of rice which cost $ 2. (-__-) …(°°) It was ok… but they might have gotten another star if a second scoop of rice was more like $ 0.50

Perfect as always. I got the fresh spring rolls and some Phad Thai. My tea was clean and smooth flavored as well. I asked for my Phad Thai to be extra spicy and the chef really knew the right level to set it at. It was a pleasant burn. Back in the kitchen they do a good job managing quality and flavor and this place continues to be my favorite. The serving staff remembers me and know what I like or suggests things that may appeal to me. I cannot wait until it gets colder so I can start back into Phở season :-)

Lunch: My friend and I got a chicken curry dish as well as the pad kee mao with beef. For the price, I don’t think the portion was worth it with the pad kee mao. I really enjoy noodles, and I felt like there were only a few large pieces in there, it was mostly vegetables. There was a only a few pieces of beef which weren’t that good either. The curry was lacking in depth and the chicken in it was a bit dry. I had been here a few years back and remembered the curry being better than this time. Not sure if I would go back after that… a bit disappointed…

This is an absolute JEM of a place. I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. Décor — sophisticated & simple, Service — friendly and knowledgeable, food — nice variety, fresh and presented well, bathrooms — better than some fancy restaurants I’ve been in. Not a large place but not too small either! Bön Appétit.

I’ll be frank with you. I wasn’t planning on coming here the other day as I wanted to try Jiu Thai’s Phad Thai per Linda E.‘s recommendation but they are closed Mondays. To make a long story short… I’m not on the fence about the Bamboo Café anymore as I stated in my first review. I’m taking a liking to this little hole in the wall and I’m bumping it up to an almost solid 4 stars.(3.8) The Phad Thai at the Bamboo Café is among the better dishes I’ve had. There were some great flavors here with a nice balance of noodles, vegetables, shrimp, sweet, spicy and heat. I opted for shrimp, medium spicy plus and they pretty much had it spot on. There were several big, good quality shrimp mixed in with the noodles. Although it tasted very good, I added a little extra fish sauce and some of the left over peanut sauce from my spring rolls and that brought it up a notch to about perfect. Some hot Jasmine tea and a couple Viet Namese spring rolls rounded out my lunch. The spring rolls by the way were medium sized, freshly made and had three shrimp each in them. They came with some peanut dipping sauce which was very good. A big additional plus here is that the ladies are so nice and polite. They really make you feel welcome. The only con: One thing that is keeping me from going all the way up to 5 stars is the portion size. Once again, while the food and service are excellent, the portions are not too generous for the money.
