Great selection of running shoes, dress/​work shoes as well as hiking boots/​sandals. If they don’t carry what you’re looking for, they can order it and get it in quickly. Excellent customer service too!

Below the Knee has a great selection of running shoes and works great to ensure a proper fitting shoe. Their prices are comparable, but their service sets them apart. They will assess your arch, walking gait & running gait. If you prefer a different shoe, they’ll work with you to make sure you’re happy. They’re smaller than others, but are just as good for everything you need for running shoes.

Below the Knee was the first running specific shoe store in Columbus, GA. Mike is a great guy and very knowledgable about feet and running. The great thing about Below the Knee is that it is focused on running and helping anyone get started or improve if you’re already an accomplished runner.
They offer running groups on Columbus’ Riverwalk if you’re into that. Also, if it’s not in the store, Mike will order it and have there ASAP.
