Great restaurant just off the side of the hotel Blackwell in Columbus Ohio. To be honest, i’d visit this restaurant even if i wasn’t staying at the hotel. I was little worried when i walked in, it was about 7pm and the place had about 12 people in and about 60 empty seats. However i’m happy to report a great dining experience. As the hotel eatery they of course do breakfast and dinner with daily dinner specials. I went off the menu and had a wonderful caesar salad, just the right amount of dressing and served with warm bread with oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. Yummy. Dinner i had the chicken schnitzel, cooked wonderfully with a little pancetta added served atop roasted potatoes and arugula with a lovely lemony dressing. All in all a great dish, well prepared. Prices are reasonable(although i have no other nearby places to check prices on, just basing this on the quality of food, restaurant state and service) Service was excellent, friendly, courteous, respectful and knowledgeable, not sure if they are students from OSU, but if they are, they are a credit to the school.

Went for NYE dinner. Very slow service, there were two servers on the floor with about 4 tables total, so totally manageable. I think there was only one chef, because it took a long time for pad thai and a soup and salad to come out. A large table came in and we noticed a third server, but no one came to check on us after we received our meals or to offer a second glass of wine. We were ready to go but we sat for honestly about 20 minutes without any attention. Servers would attend to tables around us who had just been seated but would not even look on our direction. We were about to get up and go to the host stand to pay, but someone happened to be bussing a table next to us and asked us if we wanted our check. Food was excellent but service seemed really unprepared for what is typically a big night for restaurants. Will not be back.

This is a regular haunt for faculty at The Ohio State University. It is very conveniently located on campus. The morning breakfast buffet is just okay with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and some fruit and cereals, although no omelets. The afternoon buffet is generally a hit or miss, but one can always find something edible to eat. They have a couple of different types of salads and various toppings including croutons, potato salad, tuna salad, eggs, … They also have at least one vegetable dish(usually cooked green beans, broccoli, or zucchini/squash, and a couple of entrees(usually some combination of beef, chicken, seafood, or pork). They also have a decent dessert bar. The carrot cake is pretty good. They also have several salads and sandwiches from the main menu as well as some entrees like pad thai, etc. Their hamburgers are usually pretty good. I think the servers are mainly students and they are usually polite and try hard. Overall, it is not a bad dining experience, but try to order from the main menu instead of the buffet.

Haven’t been here in a while so thought I would give it another try since I had a meeting at the Blackwell Ballroom. I made a reservation for myself for breakfast at 10. When I arrived, I waited 3 minutes before the host showed up to take me to my table. It wasn’t busy and I made eye contact with servers hoping they would call someone over to seat me but they just went about their business until the host finally arrived. I was not in the mood for a sweet breakfast but I was intrigued by the orange ricotta pancakes on the menu and asked if I could order a smaller order to try on the side. The server said it was not possible and I respected that. I ended up with the Blackwell Eggs which consisted of two poached eggs over Canadian bacon and English muffin with a hollandaise sauce. This dish was good but not great. The sauce came in a gravy boat and was almost too thick to pour. I ordered sausage links on the side and those were excellent. The coffee was on the watery side but drinkable. Server was very nice but never refilled my coffee until I asked and took a long time to get me my check. Overall, it was an ok experience but nothing more. I’ve had much better.

So the food isn’t bad, the service was ok but the prices are high even for hotel fine dining. One thing I really did not like when I visited here the first time is they gave me the menu for the student dining plan. They assumed because I was young that I was a student and not someone who was just staying in the hotel. Second issue is they placed me in the tightest corner booth they could cram me in and refused to move me even though there were only 3 groups in there. Again I think this is because they assumed I would be young and rowdy. Not a great place but not horrible either. Could use some customer service improvements but it wasn’t bad.

As a Fisher student, it’s a convenient place for me to have dinner with my classmates. What’s more convenient is the OSU blocks are acceptable here. Also, the price is affordable for us. The food is nice here as well. I ordered a Soup du Jour and Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. The soup was really delicious, but the crab cakes were a little bit overcooked. Anyway, it deserves the price.

Dined at Bistro 2110 with colleagues before a meeting at Fisher College. Location was very convenient(2 min walk) to Fisher admin building. Food was great — I had the salmon. Veggies were a little heavy on the oil, but that may be because they were accommodating my dairy allergy(which, by the way, they were very helpful, kind, and discrete about). Everyone else had the buffet which had quite a selection and they enjoyed the food. I read some negative reviews about staff beforehand so I was a little wary but our service was great. Maître d was professional and attentive. Our waitress answered questions, was good with keeping our drinks full without being there every time we took a sip, and as previously mentioned, discrete and accommodating with my special request. The restaurant was empty at 11:45am but completely full by 12:10pm so if you’re in a time crunch, make a reservation and/or go early.

It was a nice break from the tailgate stadium fun and we relaxed and enjoyed a cocktail. I recommend the Mascapone Lemon Gnocchi, it was amazing. The wonderful staff was attentive and Lori was especially nice to us! We recommend this place for sure!

Wow! How do you mess up a ham and cheese omelet? Well, they managed to twice. First they forgot the ham, second time around they folded it the wrong way so as you ate it the first ½ had ham and the second half didn’t. Biscuits were so hard and dry and they replaced those too with the exact same ones. Yes, please serve me hockey pucks for breakfast, that sounds great, no thank you! I asked the waiter are they normally like this as I tapped them on the wire basket. His response, I don’t eat them, I’m not sure. Really? Of course hockey puck biscuits are not normal, duh! And the hash browns were burnt black on the top. The waiter was apologetic, I’m sorry I’ll let the manager know but the manager never walked out to address the issue until the end when we asked him to send his manager out. What the heck happened to I’m sorry let me take that off your bill, not this place it’s more like, yes we know your meal was crap, pay up and have a good day. The hotel is fantastic, the bistro is blah and they have no interest in having a customer visit more than once. That was clear by their actions!

I had buffet this noon and food in Blackwell is pretty good. It’s definitely a nice place to eat on campus. Besides, OSU students can use blocks there! The buffet doesn’t serve too many kinds of food but the quality is satisfactory. There are fish, chicken, salads and desserts. I particularly love the cheesecake!

Bistro 2110 is a nice option for eating on campus. It has a bit more of an upscale ambiance than the other options, what with the white tablecloths and servers. I visited with a large group(15) for lunch, and we had a good experience. There is a daily buffet option for lunch, as well as a menu that offers a variety of salads, sandwiches, soups, and more. The desserts looked amazing too. They have a small gluten free menu that offers several choices, with basics like salads to more unique options like a lettuce-wrapped duck quesadilla. Our group tried a number of soups, sandwiches, and some of the pasta dishes, and seemed to enjoy all of the food. I opted for the Blackwell Salad with chicken off of the gluten-free menu. It had a nice blend of flavors, with berries, roasted corn, and pecans. I especially enjoyed the grilled chicken — it was a very generously sized piece that was cooked to perfection — juicy and flavorful, and served nice and hot. It went really well with the salad and bulked it up quite well for a filling lunch. The manager came around to check and see how we were doing and how the food was, which was a nice touch. I would visit again.

After multiple visits to Bistro 2110(many with my family during admissions-, orientation-, or move-in-related events at Ohio State), I have decided to give this establishment 3.5 stars(rounding down). If you’re an OSU student, then don’t try using your meal swipes at the Bistro 2110. The staff will treat you rudely, your food will be terrible, and you will be asked to wear nicer clothes should you eat there next time. But if you plan to spend for your meal with a more traditional form of payment, then you’ll have a wonderful experience – how weird! :-/ Maybe once or twice the food was a little too salty, *but it’s still quite upscale with quality ingredients.* The servers follow a script, probably as part of some hospitality class, but their presentations are tolerable. With that said, I have had the breakfast here as well, and it has all the goods. :-) Also, the décor is lovely(despite the dining room’s occasional fruit fly). Edit(7÷29÷12): I forgot to add that the bar food at the Bistro’s «lounge» SUCKS. It’s essentially leftovers, so just opt for drinks if you ever head there.

I’ll admit, I probably ordered wrong having the chicken fingers but my server said they were his favorite and the lunch buffet was getting ready to close and I really didn’t feel like eating luke warm food that had been sitting out. What was wrong with the chicken fingers? They were a gross over-friend hot mess. The dipping sauce that came with it was gross too. Had it not been for the pleasant server(a college student) I would have given it one star.

I stayed at the Blackwell while in Columbus for a meeting. I normally don’t expect much from food at hotel restaurants, but the Bistro 2110 was great! My colleagues and I were hungry and just wanted something to eat as soon as we arrived. They got the lunch buffet, which they overall liked, and the dessert was great(I stole some from them) — especially the chocolate toffee cake. I ordered the Sun Dried Tomato and Arugula Empanadas, which were delicious and filling — even the decorative squash on top was yummy. The butter for the bread was amazing — obviously handmade and well worth the taste. At dinner, I ordered the gnocchi, which was… interesting. That was the only questionable food choice at this place. It had been seared and had a weird consistency, like it was made with corn and not potato. Everyone else, though, appeared to really enjoy their meal, so I will consider the gnocchi an abberation. Desset was this sinful wild berry mousse-filled crêpe that had been wrapped and the ends dipped in chocolate. I would have licked the plate if it hadn’t been bad manners. The restaurant also catered our meeting, and the food was definitely up to par, despite the large number of servings they had to make. Fantastic tomato soup, delicious salad, and out of this world cheesecake. Breakfast brunch was overall good, though they had a crème brule french toast that I had to try that was really delicious, but waaay too rich and I had to stop after a few bites.

This review is solely based on the breakfast buffet that was included in our nightly rate at The Blackwell. If it weren’t included for free, we would’ve asked for our money back; we were more than underwhelmed. The lowlights included: limp, under-cooked bacon, biscuits with separated sausage gravy, dry scrambled eggs with an odd metallic overtone, and breakfast potatoes so saturated with oil they were translucent. I won’t even attempt to describe the ‘bread pudding’. The coffee urns remained empty during our visit. The sausage links were passable, as were the limited selection of pastries, cubed fruit and individual serving size boxes of cereal. The service was deplorable, likely because the breakfast voucher includes tip(however, we’re not skeezeballs who wouldn’t tip in addition — which we did, although it wasn’t deserved). With how extremely satisfied we were with our stay at the hotel, we expected much better from this restaurant. Based on this experience, we will not return.

The food was pretty good, although I’m not much of a «fancy diner.» They had a moderately large selection on the menu. Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was upscale but welcoming. They take Buck-ID food swipes too, if you are an OSU student.
