Bob’s Bar is the best dive bar in Columbus. I always hear it come up in conversations regarding what is the best bar in the area. There is plenty to drink and see. Bob’s is not much to look at from the outside. The sign always makes me crack a smile. It sits unassumingly near the Graceland Shopping Center, seemingly untouched by the nearby renovations. Inside, you will find some of the best beer selections around for pretty good prices. They have a surprising craft selection, with beers from all over the world. In fact, you can even earn a mug after completing a huge list of beers around the world. Those wanting an easier way to get a souveneir can buy a tee shirt. The atmosphere is also fun. It has its share of local regulars, and newcomers wanting to see what the fuss is about. The bar is also located next door to the fantastic Pita Hut, so you can eat some falafel to soak up that beer. It seems to have something for everyone. This is a place those looking for cheap and interesting beer need to check out.

Hands down, my favorite dive bar in Columbus. Bob’s has one of the best beer selections in town, and, if beer isn’t you’re thing, the bartenders made a damn good cocktail too. The pours are generous, and a double is definitely a double. Head down on a night when Pauly is behind the bar and you’re guaranteed a good time, or at the very least, a few laughs. There are a few parking spots out front, but if they’re full there’s always parking down the street adjacent to the bar. Pool is $ 1.25 a game, with a change machine handy inside the bar, which accepts dollar bills. No ones on you? Just tell the bartender to add a dollar to your tab and he’ll hand you one.

Real cool place on the north side on Morse road. Great beer selection of drafts & bottles. Bartenders knowledgeable about their beers. Can be hard to get a seat sometimes and no real good place to stand. The major down fall is the prices are super $$$ expensive. The bar is making a killing, but guess they can get away with it. Lol

A definite, unique, awesomsauce neighborhood bar! Lots of «regulars» frequent here. Sometimes I think they need to expand. But then again, the homey vibes this joint gives off totally solidifies why it should always and forever stay small! This establishment has a HUGE, and I really mean BIG, beer selection. Lots of locals, and the not. I personally like how they seem to always have at least one or two fruity wheat beers or ciders — better chance that I’ll find something that meets my likings. The staff knows their schtiff. Polite, friendly personalities. The few pool tables and jukebox hales back to the 80s! Not a lot of parking; drive down the side street and you’ll usually have no problem. Also, since there’s no food here, Pita Hut(right next door) is always a good option to bring over!

Talk about keeping it real. Bob’s is the real deal. It is hands down one of the best dive bars in Columbus. One of the best beer selections in the city, two pool tables, great jukebox, golden tee and good company. The staff knows beer and adds a fun vibe to the place. They are also Browns friendly which is a bonus for this Cleveland fan. Drink your way around the world to earn your place of honor and a giant beer mug that can be filled for a great price.

Bob’s is fantastically dive-y they have an impressive amount of beers on tap and some great craft beers. Happy hour domestic drafts were $ 1.50 and plenty of tables to shoot some pool. Never judge a book by it’s cover!

What I was told was — «You haven’t experienced Columbus yet until you’ve been to the Cultural Hub of the Midwest» — AKA Bob’s Bar. We didn’t quite know what to expect — is this just a funny way of saying«this bar is super gross and full of strange people, but it’s a right of passage in Columbus?» We were pleased to find out — no! Yes, it’s a small bar, but it’s full of the young professionals crowd. Drink prices are reasonable, and yes, there are quite a few options. The best part for me was their playlist and sound system — it was a great mix of favorites from 70’s-now. The guys in our group had fun with the darts board — although, one of them has definitely seen one too many darts games — the darts would hit the board and fall out almost instantly. There are two pool tables and plenty of standing room in addition to bar stools and tables. My one complaint is that the smokers crowd the front entrance, so you’re greeted with a cloud of smoke as you enter the Midwest’s beloved Cultural Hub. Oh, they also have TV’s galore, so your guy can catch all the games. Check it out!

Uhm, what the hell? There seriously has to be some kinda spell on this place. From outside, it looks like your basic, hole-in-the-wall bar. Small area out front for smoking, very minimal parking, nothing special. Then you go inside. Sweet crackers! TONS of craft beers, a shocking amount on draft, and a barkeep on par with that fantastic Marcus from Out-R-Inn. There’s a gent with a majestic beard and the knowledge of a God about sudsy treats. Really nice and helpful, and a fan of Game of Thrones, so that’s a bonus. Plentiful seating, televisioning, and a TouchTunes jukebox. And when you’re done drinking, pop across the street to Tee Jayes for a well deserved Barnyard Buster!

As others have said, Bob’s has a solid beer selection and service is usually decent to good. Parking out front is limited, but(and this is coming from someone who hates parallel parking) the street parking situation isn’t too bad. Atmosphere can be really hit or miss, though. Sometimes it’s dead quiet and really chill, other times it’s loud and packed with bros. The past couple of times I’ve been in it’s smelled a little… sewage-y, so I didn’t stick around for long.

Looks can be deceiving. Looks teeny tiny and like a hole in the wall from the outside. Huge beer selection with about 30 craft beers on tap. There are another 50+ craft beers in bottles, small and large. They also have a few domestics if that is what you like. Nice jukebox and it sounds pretty good, not too loud that you have to scream at your friends. They have a couple of pool tables and a dart board. Don’t forget the 6TV’s to watch multiple games and keep everyone happy. Tonight it is packed with regulars and newbies(including me). I got the Great Lakes Christmas Ale… Awesome:-) I will definitely be back to try some more beers.

It may be because I am a regular here, but I love this bar. I won’t give you a wordy description, full of great adjectives, instead, I will describe Bob’s in a simple manner and in Bob fashion… bullet points, short and sweet. –Its name is Cultural Hub of the MidWest –Plenty of rotating beer selections –World of Beer tour(which ends in a mega glass) –Amazing, no fluff bartenders –Bobs shots(they’re big) –It is a bar, nothing more, nothing less –A couple regulars, but never obnoxiously crowded like those«hip» bars get And before I start to sound like an old grumpy man, I will stop here. But seriously, come in, you may even see my ginger face there!

A double is a DOUBLE in this place! You definitely get all the bang for your buck here. TouchTone has some good songs on it, free darts and a couple pool tables in the back. Plan ahead, the parking is mostly on the street just south of the building.

I will say Bob’s Bar really rocks… Every time I go into this place I always come out with more Facebook friends, white friends, black friends, hipster friends, and any type of person you can imagine. Bob’s Bar draws a cross section of America and then some. Its a must visit on a Friday or Saturday night if your ever in Columbus because the beer list is very good.

Ah Bob’s. This place rocks. And not in the usual, third row at a Rage Against the Machine concert kinda rocks. This bar rocks as though Jimi Hendrix descended on a flaming chariot to close the show at a Led Zeppelin reunion tour. First off, it’s a bar. Just a bar. No food, or light show. Just a bar with televisions. And a pool table or two. But why does this qualify as awesome? The beer selection here is beyond amazing. There is a better bench of amazing craft beer here than almost anywhere else in Columbus. And the kicker? The staff actually KNOWS about good craft beer. That is a rarity with any other speciality craft beer bar in this town. When I feel a need for amazing beer boil from the pits of my soul, Bob’s is the fix.

The cultural hub of the midwest doesn’t have much culture. But aside from that exaggeration of a tagline, it’s a solid bar. I am fairly certain the tagline is in jest anyway. I mean, I doubt it literally intends to suggest the opposite(which is the truth): that only white people, most of them men, hang out here, but I also don’t think they literally intend to suggest that this is a melting pot of culture. Anyway, that’s way over philosophizing this Beechwold bar. They have a decent draft list, nothing too crazy compared to the wider options available further south, but for the area, it’s one of the better ones. The prices, even at happy hour, could be better. Again, I think location is a factor. Downtown, if you aren’t doing 50% off happy hour or close to it, you probably aren’t getting much business. Up here, you can get away with worse. The bartenders are pretty exceptional when it comes to service. They are fast, no frills. Don’t expect a bunch of chatting. The bartenders are, with few exceptions, male. You can actually see bios of their staff on their website. Or could. The high volume of male bartenders made me think this place probably attracted a lot of females. Not really the case. Sure, ladies do go here, but not in numbers that outweigh anywhere else. So the bartenders are just here because they’re good. I’ll take it. There are two pool tables and two dart boards, so it’s good for that. Seating anywhere other than the bar is a bit tight. It can be a bit cramped as it’s more of a long, thin bar. Parking sucks, as does the tiny smoke filled patio. If you picked this place up and put it somewhere else, it might garner another star. One of its biggest selling points has nothing to do with its own operation(neighboring Pita Hut with its amazing food). That’s all I have to say about that.

Not a fan. Parked on the street, because there wasn’t any parking in front of the bar. There were a few people being rowdy in front of the bar. Lots of smoking and loud conversation as we walked in. Walked into a relatively empty bar. One of the first things I noticed was some trash on the floor; straw wrappers, maybe? I know this bar is known for their beer selection, but the atmosphere really ruined it for us before we got there. Probably wouldn’t come back.

Bob’s Bar entered my radar screen last week when a long time college friend invited me to take part in a monthly happnin’ called«Beer Friday». I didn’t make it but two things put me and Bob’s at the nexis of cocktails. One was my prep for Beer Friday. I had to look up Bob’s Bar to find its location. Easy enough, just a hop, skip and jump north on High Street from Morse Road/East. Bob’s sits on the west side of High. Two, friends of mine in Clintonville called me on OSU vs FAMU Saturday saying they were at Bob’s for cocktails and my reply was, «Oh, Bob’s? Sure I know where it is!» Be right there. The basics. Bob’s Bar is local semi-dive,… no,… dive bar(good kind) with two pool tables in the rear and a long, long bar running almost 2⁄3 of the room which is skinny. There’s a crude outdoor patio on the front for smokin’ cigs that has a cover(in case it’s rainin’ outside and you still need to puff up). No parking — none. You’ll find ample parking on the side street and no walk is too long to have a go at Bob’s Bar. The patrons on an OSU gameday were college and college+10 or +20. Again, it’s a local haunt and a favorite. Loads and loads of beer selections and the bar keeper is matter-of-fact about getting you drinks. Miss his call and you’ll wait … so pay attention b’cuz he darts back and forth like a tongue on ice cream. From the outside,… you’ll take a pass on Bob’s Bar. I say find a parking spot and stop in for a cold brew. Bob’s Bar is what it is which is A BAR! Do it.

Staff wasn’t all that nice and welcoming but he was responsive enough. There’s about four tvs to watch… although when I was there they were showing the nature channel and, more specifically, a goat being eaten alive by an alligator… oh so very entertaining that was(sarcasm). The bartender let us taste a few things before we committed to drinks, so that was awesome. And we were able to eat food from an outside establishment here, which was also nice. I noticed that they had some OYO(local brand) vodka — very cool. I would go here again… it just wouldn’t be all that high up on the list. I remember visiting this bar one other time with a group and it was jam-packed– just horrible. So be thoughtful of which day you go(maybe avoid on the weekends if you’re not into crowds).
