I can’t count how many times we’ve driven by here and since we parked halfway between here and the other gaggle of upcycle shops nearby, we decided to finally hit it. We were bum rushed by a noshing toddler and a quick ‘hi’ with an overwhelmed looking father holding an infant in his arms. The toddler was pointing things out to me to which I would smile, nod or try to answer what I thought she was saying. I could feel the hubs getting very uncomfortable and he called me over to look at a print they sold. I assume the employee(owner?) that came in was the mom as the toddler tore over to her, she checked on the infant and dad was done.(If this was the owner, she didn’t even bother to say hello, look our way or say goodbye when we left) As we tried to look around, all we could hear were the exhausted tone of a guy who said he could get nothing done trying to look after the kids and she was wanting to leave to go elsewhere and leave them with him. When the shrieks and screams kicked in, we were done. We would’ve had a straight shot to the door but given the baby’s diaper was being changed in the MIDDLEOFTHESTOREFLOOR, we had to go around and avert our eyes. Look, I’m not a heathen… I know sometimes as parents, you do what you’ve gotta do when you’re running a small business but this was just so unprofessional. If you need to change the baby, you take them in the back, not sprawl their bits out in front of customers. Given this was our first time in there, it wasn’t quite the experience I was hoping for. I didn’t find anything I needed to have anyway but it was just very distracting and uncomfortable. I realize(hope) this is not the norm for daily operations but I doubt we’ll be rushing back anytime soon.

Biiiig fan of Branch. My boyfriend and I spend every few weekends doing the Clintonville High St antique store/furniture revival loop to continue furnishing our new apartment. There are so many great shops within blocks of each other that are selling great stuff, and they all bring something different to the table. We had bought a gorgeous dresser down the street from Branch at Cottonwood a few weeks before, so when we saw Branch one day and stopped in, we were surprised to see the same woman who had sold us the dresser sitting behind the counter. We found out she owns both, and she does such a great job at finding fantastic pieces and bringing some back to life, leaving others in their original state. The store isn’t too full or stuffed with… stuff as some of the other shops nearby. The prices are extremely fair, dare I say, you’ll get a steal. We were so pleased with the kitchen table we bought and it was only $ 52! It has two drop leaves PLUS a leaf insert so it can be pretty large. It’s very sturdy with a white painted top and red painted legs — such a functional and versatile table for a great price. The dresser we bought has faint color from the stripped paint, and great details, and was around $ 90. We are always stopping in looking for decorating ideas or something new to make our place cozy and stylish.

Husband and I decided to hit the antique stores to find a nightstand and this was the first stop. Very open and clean — no clutter and no dust. They have furniture pieces of various sizes. The Facebook page gets updated with new items. Want to see a 10-foot toboggan? They have a nice one in the back.
