Caffe Amici

Why aren’t more people here? We had great service and the food was good. The kids portions are appropriate. I had the carbonara sauce on angel hair pasta. More food than I could eat so I took some home. One of my children had the spaghetti and meatballs – the meatballs were pretty tasty and homemade. I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this but they have a very good tiramisu. It is homemade and very light. Tiramisu should be served fresh and theirs was very fresh. We ordered one to share and I wish we had ordered another one. I am not from the Columbus area and live in a very large metropolitan area. The food at Café Amici is good and fresh. We will go back when we pass this way again!

They have really god authentic Italian dishes for a reasonable price. Between three of us we had eggplant parm, chicken parm and a vegetarian pasta dish which is the house special. I added chicken it was really good. Everything was fresh and the portions are HUGE. I would go back.

Definitely the best kept secret in Columbus, I do agree! The prices aren’t…terrrible, but it’s worth it. Smells, etc??? I don’t know what you’re talking about, but okay… I love Carrabba’s, and like Olive Garden, but this place right HERE, ni**a!

Great service, the food brought be back to Venice/​Padua. Loved it. I would suggest this restaurant for anyone wanting to go out for a nice dinner, kids and all.

A solid Italian restaurant in Columbus. The food was good and the service was great. Will be back again.

Very good food. I had the carbonara and my daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo. Both were very good. I will be returning again!

The food and service are excellent. The prices are reasonable. This is the best Italian food that you will find in Columbus.

The best thing about this place is the service. The food was reasonably priced and portions are smaller at lunch. The food was just ok. Personally thought too much garlic was being used. Recommend carrying gum with you if dining at this place LOL.

How does this place have an average of 4 Stars? It’s not terrible or disgusting, but it is so drab, glum, and bland that I can’t imagine why you would choose this place. The service was slightly below average (server failed to pay attention to requests, was a little awkward, and just overall odd). My wife and I had cheese tortellini with bolognese sauce and it was so bad I didn’t even finish or ask for a box. That has happened maybe 3 times in my life — I either finish or save enough for later. This time I had no desire to even finish my meal and waste the calories. Server saw and didnt bother to ask about how the meal was since it was obvious we were not happy. I am such an unpicky eater too, that;s how bleh it was
Bottom line: this place is not great and if you are looking for an unimpressive place to go then this is your place. Sorry — just the truth.

THE BEST ITALIAN IN COLUMBUS!
I cannot say anything bad about this restaurant. Having lived many places (including Europe) we have been able to try Italian food from authentic to terrible. The food at Caffe Amici is about as close to authentic that we have found since leaving Europe.
We have tried every app on the menu, and they are all wonderful. The calamari is our favorite.
We have also had many of the main dishes over the years. My favorites are the Rosa and Tortellini alla panna.
The kids’ options are not the usual junk that you find other places. They get the same quality just a smaller portion.
They also have great desserts.
Finally, the service has always been outstanding. I couldn’t ask for nicer people. It has been a joy every meal we have had there.

Just tried to go there for dinner. Walked in at 5:15pm. There was no one in the restaurant and no employees to be found. So we left.

We decided to have dinner on a Friday night for my girlfriend’s birthday. Having read several good reviews, we were looking forward to having a good Italian dinner at a non-​chain restaurant in Columbus. I am a well-​traveled foodie and enjoy supporting local restaurants. We made reservations for 5 pm which is the time they open for dinner; upon arriving, the restaurant was empty except for two tables, yet the hostess sat us in back by the restrooms and kitchen which was unusual since the restaurant was not occupied. We ignored this and started to observe the environment and look at the menu which looked to have a good selection of entrees.
The service started out fine, our drinks came out quickly as did the calamari appetizer, but after placing dinner order, we began noticing an argument in the kitchen during which a server and then the manager/​owner (?) came out continuing the argument, then our server came out apologizing that the garlic bread was going take awhile because the oven was not warm enough. After 25 minutes (mind you, the restaurant was not at all full) our dinner was served. My girlfriend had the eggplant parmigiana and I had the penne rosa. The eggplant varied in temperature seemingly between cold and hot (!), but had a good flavor, there was no side dish served. My rosa was pretty good, a nice mix of sauteed ham and shrimp in a vodka sauce.
Overall the food was not bad, but the ambiance (inexpensive furnishings, lattice and faux brick walls) was drab and the atmosphere was not conducive to a nice dining experience. Not sure if they were having an off day, but it dampened the birthday mood. We do not anticipate returning and have honestly had better experiences at the Carrabbas up the street.

I am a big eater and love food. This place is fantastic. A well deserved 5+/5 for excellent food. Service was wonderful as well. Noël was great and helped with suggestions and choices.
We ordered the bruschetta $ 5 (very fresh and flavorful tomatoes) and calamari $ 10 for apps…

I loved the rosa. It was phenomenal. Another review recommended it and it was an exceptional choice. The sauce is amazing.
Portions are good and they give salad/​bread which helps fill you up.

The most Authentic Italian Food that you can get in Columbus, GA. Absolutely the best food I’ve ever put into my mouth. The restaurant is beautiful and the Owners are the BEST People you could ever hope to meet.

Oh my!!! This food was sooooooo good! I wanted to try everything on the menu. Instead I settled for the carbonara and pollo Romano. The both were delicious! I will def return to sample more on the menu. My only complaint was my salad. The lettuce was brown and wilted with one tomato. I ended up tossing it out. I will def return minus the salad!

We had 4 different pasta dishes and all were great-​carbonara, meatball, salsiccia, and alle panna. Had both the theme brûlée and tiramisu. Mm good

Off the beaten path, hidden gem, worth looking for and finding. Very enjoyable. If you have you kids a kids meal give enough to split. Great portion, great food.

This is our favorite place for special occasions. I have never had a meal here that I didn’t really love.

I haven’t been here since 2003 and Café Amici did not fail to impress. By far the best Italian cuisine I have had since we lived in Italy. Great service, fair priced and very comfortable atmosphere. We’ll be coming back for sure.
I highly recommend this café to anyone in the area.
