I had a fun time here since I was with my group of people. Went dancing upstairs and it was as crowded as a club should be. I would rate the price on drinks $$. The crowd here is quite mean though which totally put me off. They come here just to pick a fight or be plain rude. That dampened my mood so much. The bartenders seemed pretty nice. Quick service and good drinks. I would recommend going here at least once. I’m more inclined to not go back here though just because of the crowd.

Fun place and awesome bartenders. But the bouncers are the definition of a piece of shit. Some of the most rude people I have dealt with. Second time an event was there and the bouncers told several of us to «fuck off» and was very aggressive to men and women. I will never have another event here.

We got a table and bottle service. In the middle of ordering a 3rd bottle, the waitress walked away while we were talking and when we got her attention she ignored us. I know she saw me because we made eye contact. Worst bottle service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I am from Seattle, WA and take a lot of trips to Las Vegas. I know the difference between good table service and bad table service. We were treated really badly and ignored. We even waived her down and made eye contact and she ignored us. She walked right by us. I know she looked at me. We had to get our friend to get her attention. We paid in cash for the last bottle. She came around asking if we need anything else after we paid for the bottle. No tip because she is the worst hostess. This is the worst bottle service I’ve ever experienced. If I can give 0 star I would.

Apparently the upstairs is a dance club, and not much for a bar downstairs. Being from out of town, we were looking for something a bit quieter. At 10pm, it was nearly empty. Our conversation with the waiter began with: Do you have pitchers? — No. Do you have buckets? — No. What do you have local? — We don’t. Ok. Dissapointing selection, but we ended up with some domestics. We had a very friendly conversation with the owner, and had some tasty blueberry lemonade shots. Our friends ended up returning later in the evening, and the place was packed! So, go there for the dancing, not for quality of beer.

Excellent atmosphere inside and outside on the patio! Not too crowded either. The music isn’t deafening, just loud enough to still have a conversation. One of the best nightclub venues I’ve experienced in Columbus.

This place sucks. The bouncers are on some kind of high horse about letting people in and I don’t why. The rooftop does not make up for how horrible the employees are. If you like spending money in a place that does not care about the service you get, this is the place for you.

Went here for my birthday with a large group and we all had a blast! There’s a floor/atmosphere for every type of person here. If you’re looking for a place for a group outing or special occasion, this is it.

Is there anything this place doesn’t have? I started downstairs watching the NBA playoffs with a beer. TVs everywhere. The pizza is really good btw… highly recommend. The upstairs is like another world. DJs spinning on the dance floor and out on the rooftop patio. The patio might be the coolest spot in the city for a drink! If you don’t have a fun at this spot it is clearly your own fault.

I don’t get how they are an Irish bar other than a few things on the walls and the name. If you want to experience the closest thing to an Irish bar out side of Ireland go to Fado’s at Easton.(also what silly location for it… but anyway). The crowd is what you’d expect from the Arena District scene. so no surprises when you stop in. Sometimes it is more quiet than the rest so that is always nice. The servers have always been friendly as well so that is bonus.

Probably my own fault for coming here the Saturday before Saint Patrick’s Day as the last stop of a bar crawl. Also, I was sober, and this is definitely not a place to go if you are sober. However, I can only write about my experience right? This place was pretty gross. We went to the upstairs patio because thats where there was space. Its mostly the OSU student crowd and they were drunk beyond belief. People were crashing into each other spilling their drinks all over people and the floor. Boys were bashing their heads and seeing who gave up first claiming its an «Irish tradition.» During this there was no regards for others around them. The music sucked too. I don’t need to listen to Journey’s «Don’t Stop Believing» at 5 pm. Especially at what is supposed to be a St Patty’s Day party. Also, there were lots of lights of every color flashing all around which I guess was to make it feel like a dance floor or a club but it was far too crowded for that and were just nauseating. The worst part of all was that despite how gross and cheap this place was, when I managed to work my way to the bar to order a Guinness, it was $ 8. Yeah, this place did not earn the right to charge that much for a pint. Oh well, after 20 minutes I left.

Alright place to have a drink or two on a Saturday night but not to spend a whole night. Drinks were average but not too strong. The layout is awkward and there is nowhere to sit in there.

Worst experience ever! Short story: I was celebrating my birthday, bar-hopping in the Short North area, and walked in this bar around 1 a.m. with 7 friends: Law school students, ages between 25 – 30. Huge crowd inside, so the majority of us went ahead and walked all the way to the roof top to get some air. In the meantime, 3 of my friends stayed downstairs to get some drinks. After about 5 minutes I noticed that my friends had stayed behind, so I decided to go downstairs to get them, and tell them that we were upstairs. In my intent to reach my friends, I got stopped by one of the employees, before I could even take the stairs. He did not let me to go downstairs to get my friends, or would not even let me go downstairs for any reason. Did not let me explain him anything, and then all of the sudden just demanded me to get out of the place, called the police, another security guy came(big male, like 7 inches taller than me), almost spitting on my face, demanding me to leave, without letting me say a word. I felt so insecure, assaulted and very scared that these guys could have just hit me or get violent with me in any moment. The police came and took me out. They would not let me go talk to my friends to tell them I was leaving, did not let me explain why I was going to go downstairs… it was AWFULL. This people have no notion of what RESPECT or customer service mean. I would never come back to this place again and will not recommend it ATALL.

Douchebags are free. Bud Light drafts are $ 6. My god. It’s half an hour later. Why am I still here?

Wish I could rate Zero stars. Better yet, negative five stars. Just a terrible place. You’ll be made to feel like a piece of sh*t for spending your money there, and they’ll overcharge you, berate you, and then double charge you, and refuse to fix anything. Mind you, I’m not one of those drunk fools at 2am arguing a tab, this was 9pm and we just wanted to get out of there(because it sucks, and the later after 9 it gets the worse and worse it sucks) The manager refused to even speak with me, and then the bouncer, just because he didn’t like my professional demeanor(I’m a thirty year old professional who feels customer service is still a thing, I guess that means I’m not welcome) asked me to literally«get the hell out» like a tough guy, and then proceeded to tell a passing by cop outside(after I calmly walked out) to make sure I stay away, which was entirely unnecessary. I was flabbergasted by how terribly I was treated. Luckily I was able to charge back the bill to them and get my money back, along with their $ 20 fee they’ll have to pay. Seriously, the worst experience I’ve ever had. The reviews are not exaggerating. Besides how terrible the place smells(vomit in bathrooms also) and how much of a pub it is NOT, the staff are just complete a-holes. Ashamed that people who may come from out of the area have to experience this place, hopefully not for much longer. I’ll say, Corso and Gallichio’s places are head and shoulders above this dump.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at any bar in Columbus. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a terrible and complete rip off.

Was not impressed. First off, went with a group so we had a special space set up. They had a drink on the shelf that was not in stock and instead of giving me the bottle with some ice they said no. So I got something else. Two drinks that were $ 9 seemed like a lot considering they weren’t that great. Then there was the DJ. He did not listen to any of our requests. We went up to him and pretty much said if you have anything by so-n-so please play it. Instead, he played another person.

The rooftop deck with views of the Columbus skyline is truly beautiful. I marveled at the Nationwide building. Then people started to line dance. They knew every step. There were about 20 people dancing in synchronicity to terrible line dance rap music. I wonder if they all practice the moves together or by themselves at home. Then my friend Lil C-Style ran up on a nice group of ladies and started C-Walking in between them all. At that point, it was realized that it would be a good time to leave Callahan’s.

A friend of mine had the perfect description for this place not too long ago. Quite simply: «It’s a meat market». Shenanigan’s has 3 totally separate atmospheres and environments – and one should suit your mood. None will be the best of that kind. First floor, pretty average bar. Not too loud, no dancing; just a large bar with a handful of tables and room to move around. If you get dragged to Callahan’s by your friends, and you hate the upstairs, you’ll probably be content with the downstairs. Upstairs, inside – this area is sort of disgusting. It’s trashy, dirty, loud, dark and sweaty. It honestly kind of sucks, but to each his own. Some love it – I hate wading through it to get to the outside. Upstairs, outside – this area can be great, or it can be pretty obnoxious. Lately, if you get there after 10:30 — 11:00 you’re gonna end up waiting 15 – 20 minutes just to get outside(even if you just want to go in and use the bathroom – you’ll end up waiting to get back out and join your friends). When the weather is nice though, the outside is pretty nice and enjoyable. It always seems to be relatively busy and take a while to get a drink – but that’s to be expected I guess.

So there are better bars on this street compared to Callahan’s. Honestly, Callahan’s isn’t too shabby, it’s just only a 2-star compared to the other bars around. The places feels like your super typical bar– it’s dirty, it’s big, it’s got loud music and a drunk crowd. I would definitely come here again and wouldn’t dissuade anyone going… just that there’s nothing too unique about it that stands out. oh, the music is also WAY too loud. i did hear that the rooftop is pretty sweet. i didn’t get to go up so maybe my ratings would’ve been a bit better.

If you’re drunk, in college, and want to dance to a terrible DJ and drink shitty beer out of plastic bottles, this is your place! The highlight of our brief stop at Callahan’s was the most amazing outfit choice I saw the entire weekend. Let me describe the look, from head to toe: gelled hair, sunglasses, tie, black button-down with a popped collar and angel wings screen-printed on the back, red sport shorts, white socks, and black patent-leather dress shoes. Resplendent.
