Campus Corner is your basic convenience store, but it gets five stars because of the people! Compared with any convenience store I have ever been to, Campus Corner has the most friendly employees. Everyone who works there makes pleasant small talk which makes a routine visit to grab beer actually turn into an enjoyable experience. They have everything one would expect to find at a corner store and at a reasonable price. If you value a good shopping experience, then Campus Corner is your store.

OK, i know not everyone has spent the same ridiculous amount of time and money as me in the campus area, but there is nothing new about Campus Corner. Sure they may have remodeled the place a little and put some new fancy crap on the outside(probably required by Campus Partners) but this the same crappy little convenience store that has been overcharging me for candy bars and Snapples since, well… since I drank Snapple. Now they overcharge me for candy bars and Vitamin Waters instead of Snapple but otherwise the place hasn’t really changed. The foreign lady behind the counter has vastly improved her English vernacular through the years, but the place still pales in comparison with some other Co No Sto’s that I have come to know and love. I recommend hitting tobacco international on 14th and High for a better selection and price.

Campus Corner is a convenience store — with all that it entails. The selection is so-so, the prices are high and the space is cramped. Don’t expect any surprises. There are better(and cheaper) places to buy beer too. However, if you’re a student in need of an item or two, this place does the job. There are fewer places to pick up random snacks or toiletries on campus than you might think. At least Campus Corner is new. Check it out if you need to… but then there’s always that CVS a few blocks north.

For a basic convenience store in an area that has more than plenty, Campus Corner does a pretty good job of holding its own. Given its location, it would probably be just as popular if it sold nothing but pens and toilet paper. Fortunately, they have quite a few more of the essentials covered to better serve the highly-populated off-campus housing area that’s directly behind it. The beer selection seems small at first, but it usually has what you’re looking for when you’re making a quick run to supply a pregame get together or just a lazy evening with friends on your porch. Being a malt liquor connoisseur, I found their selection of 40s to be somewhat disappointing, but 12-packs of High Life bottles for 6.99 will do just as well in most occasions. The snack section carries everything from candy to protein bars and just about everything in between. Again, nothing here will be surprising and out of left field, but when you’re looking for a quick snack to tide you over until you get a break between classes to get lunch, Campus Corner has more than enough options. They also sell money orders here for $ 1.50, which is incredibly convenient when it comes time to pay rent. Stop by the bank next door, get a money order, drop it in the mailbox out front, and you’re good to go. On top of it all, the staff here has run the place for years and is always friendly and familiar with its regulars. They understand when you’re in a hurry and always do their best to get you in and out as fast as possible. In other words, Campus Corner is everything a convenience store should be!
