We visited this steak house and bar while visiting family. Reminiscent of the 70’s era, the food and service was excellent. We both had steaks which is served with a small side of au juice which we enjoyed. Home made rolls and a relish tray are included. They have a magician who performs there once a week. The bar is at the entrance and the large dining area is in the back. Some locals say the were a little put off by that and the dim atmosphere, but we saw families there with children. Great good and service.

I just love this place! The Old Fashioned Sweet is a favorite of my husband. We love the Supper Club atmosphere and of course don’t miss the Magic Show!

We stopped at this classic supper club on our way through Columbus and were welcomed by a warm staff of smiling faces and kind hospitality. We had a drink at the bar and enjoyed a relish tray with some great potato skins and cheese. We decided to sit in the bar area to enjoy our supper as the Badgers were playing. They do however have a nice dining room atmosphere. I had a special order and they accommodated kindly. My husband ordered the signature Capri filet medium rare as well as the chicken soup with a hash browns and creamed spinach. Both our meals were spectacular. They cooked his steak to perfection and with seasoned palates from our expansive dining all over the world, my husband said this was one of the top cuts of meat he has had. Our server Missy was attentive and very kind. Doc entertained us with some funny jokes and a warm welcome. A job well done at Capri, we will definitely return to experience this gem.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I went with a group of 6, we all ordered different dishes, from fish fry to steak, and we all loved our meal.

I always enjoy going to The Capri. Prices are very reasonable, especially the bar, and the staff and owner are wonderful. Cannot believe the owner actually remembers our names from past visits. This is such a throwback to the old supper club days and I absolutely love the feeling I get here

Ok… just keep on driving. This should not be called a «steak house». My husband ordered a medium rare ribeye steak. They brought him a well done piece of prime rib. When we sent it back they insisted it was a ribeye. They agreed to make him a new one and within 5 minutes it was out. Sorry you cannot cook a ribeye in 5 minutes. Also I have never seen a ribeye with seasoning around the edge. Come on people it is prime rib. I ordered the Capri scallops… which is supposed to be 6 jumbo scallops with bacon and parmesan. Well that is not what I got… I got 8 tiny WAY over cooked scallops. Chef Ramsey… we got a kitchen nightmare going on here in Columbus, Wisconsin. Don’t stop… save your money.

I really like this place for a few reasons: 1. It looks like it hasn’t changed since about 1958 or so. 2. The staff are some of the most interesting characters, and very accommodating(I’ve gone with a party of 11 on a busy Friday night and the hostess did everything she could to squeeze us all in – it was quite the party!). 3. The German fare is HOMECOOKED. My favorite is the saurbraten with spaetzles – not quite as saur as my grammy’s, but darn good so far away from home! 4. There’s the corniest magician who wanders around and performs for people on Friday nights. How kitschy/fun is that?! Fridays and Saturdays are a bit crazy, and they’re not as well-staffed as one might like at the bar. That is the ONLY reason I’m giving 4 stars. If you don’t mind waiting 3 songs for a drink, then you can go any night of the week. Otherwise, I’d say stick to the school nights. :)

Went for our first time after reading good reviews and having a bucky book coupon. It did not disappoint! Great bar experience with stories from Doc and good drinks. Bar also has snacks which include fried potato skins with house made cheese spread. Those skins are so good i almost didn’t have room for dinner! Then dinner, prime rib for my husband and scallops for for me. Excellent! Best supper club we have been to in a while. We are not fans of our own town’s supper club. This 20 minute drive is sooo worth it.

It is time for a major update to the décor and to the menu. Nothing seems to have changed in 30 years except it gets more dire with each visit. Food is bland, needs seasoning or better supplier, atmosphere is red velvet walls reminds one of the former Gobbler in Johnson Creek. Have been here many times but have no plans to return again unless there are changes

We came in on a Saturday night. I ordered the fried asparagus, fish soup, and the deep fried walleye. My food was amazing. Everyone else I went with ordered the prime rib. They all agreed it was ok. A little bland. The waitress was nice. The prices were a little high but not bad. Would definitely go back.

Dining here is like traveling thru time. The décor is a time warp for sure. The food is decent, I’ve had better elsewhere, but this is a complete experience! The staff is super friendly and the place is extremely clean. You won’t be sorry for giving it a shot.

This place gets 4 stars for the experience. It’s not the best steak I’ve ever head, but it’s still pretty solid. We were there on a Wednesday night so it wasn’t busy and the service was great. Where else can you get a glass of wine for $ 2.95? We’ll be taking some friends back again — it’s the classic Wisconsin supper club experience and we loved it. They have a magician on Friday nights and there are cards stuck to the ceiling.

Older historic building, nothing special on décor, but this is your true supper club. Food was really good, prime rib done perfectly & hubby’s shrimp was tasty. Nice touches like a relish tray before the meal along with warm rolls. Drinks didn’t skimp on the liquor. Wait staff was friendly & attentive. Will visit again on the way to Madison.

Capri was a great place to eat when we first moved to Columbus in 2006. We took my parents there for their anniversary last year after telling how great the place was. OMG what a huge change. The food was horrible! Service was still great but I was so embarrassed for taking my parents here to celebrate their special day.

Ahh The Capri. When I came to town 8 years ago, the food was awesome. Somethings don’t get better with age. When you walk in, you’ll notice the old style décor. This place looks just like it did in the 40’s and 50’s. Even though it’s old school, the place is sparkling clean. The big band/jazz music on the CD player in the background is an awesome touch. Drinks are stiff and cheap. The older staff mixes them up good. You get a relish tray with every dinner. On this old time plate comes crackers, cheese, pasta salad, pickles, and a medley of other vegetables It’s awesome. A real piece of nostalgia The dinner salad features a glass plate of wilted produce. Brown lettuce, a stale onion, dry tomato and 2 croutons complete the experience. Of course, who could forget the thimble full of dressing they give you. So generous. The soup is AWESOME. Get the french onion smothered in cheese. Always a hit, and no matter how lousy the salad is, the soup will cleanse your palate in a positive way. The dinners are just an OK value, but in the last year have jumped in price considerably. The once 15 dollar sirloin is now 19 dollars and the taste is bland. You’ll need A-1 on it, however most of the clientele are over 70, so they probably like a boiled, bland, flavorless small hunk of meat. After dinner drinks are a good choice. Grasshoppers are large and well worth the 4 dollars. All in all, the Capri will give you a ho-hum feeling of saticfaction. The wait staff is very nice and does a great job keeping your glasses full. The town old folks line up for a meal. However if you are a young folk who like a quiet dinner, you won’t be alone. The décor is totally retro and cool, the sides great, the main course not so much. I’ll go the Capri if I have too, but there are local places that serve a better steak.

Probably the best steak around. Some might call this place a supper club, because that’s how you feel inside. Long narrow establishment serves steaks, chops, chicken and fish like a good Wisconsin restaurant should. Great relish tray too. A bit of a flashback to the 40’s or 50’s in this historic town.
