Captive Born Reptiles

As I walked in the door, an overwhelming stench hit me in the face. It was absolutely disgusting.
The guy working was on the phone, offering some medical advice over the phone, (pretty sure that’s illegal since he isn’t a veterinarian) and called the guy on the phone an idiot after hanging up.
Most of the cages were covered in dried feces which had been there so long it was white and caked. Most of the animals had bone dry water dishes. Some had moldy bedding. There was a rotten mouse in one of the snake cages. A lot of the animals were too large for their enclosures. Those animals shouldn’t have to live in filthy conditions.
The animals were also over priced because «they breed them themselves».
If you need a reptile, or reptile food I would avoid this location.

I really love this store. They have a great selection of reptiles, their prices are fair, and Terry, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable about these animals.
Terry has been through a lot over the years, including a raid of his stores. During this raid, one of his beloved pets was brutally abused by two of the Columbus Zoo’s reptile house keepers and then died a few days later. However, through this and much other opposition he continues to do everything he can to erase the general public’s misconceptions about these amazing animals. He puts on educational programs at schools and also fights uninformed state legislation that aims to restrict the rights of Americans to own certain reptiles.
Terry and his employee’s knowledge of keeping these animals healthy in an Ohio climate is incredibly valuable to anyone who owns reptiles in this state, and they are glad to be able to share this knowledge with anyone who asks. I have a friend whose leopard gecko was getting sick, and after following Terry’s advice, the little guy was back to normal in just a few days.
You should visit this store if you ever are looking to buy a new reptile, or if any of your current reptiles are looking unhealthy or just not acting like themselves.

I have spoken with Terry, the owner, and his wife several times… They are extremely knowledgeable and most helpful. We own a bearded dragon, two salamanders, a taranchula, and a corn snake. I shop here frequently and highly recommend them.

This. Store. Stinks.
I would never consider any sort of reptile as a pet, but I walked in here one time out of sheer curiosity, and the stench hit me like a fist. A fist that hasn’t been washed in a long time. I know nothing about pet reptiles; maybe that’s just how they smell. Maybe people who own reptiles are used to it. But I find it hard to believe this store will attract the business of any would-​be reptile owners based on first impressions.
Maybe someone who knows something about snakes and lizards can comment on the animals and supplies offered, and counteract my review. I did take a quick look around and they have quite a variety of animals, including some snakes that rivaled the ones at the zoo in size. Also, I did like it when the store owners used to walk an alligator on a leash outside the store to attract attention… but since Toys R Us closed down, there aren’t too many eyes to attract in this shopping center.
