I just get the spicy wings when I go here, they are the best in town. Drinks are good and inexpensive too.

I feel like China Phoenix has been around since God made the earth. No lie LOL! This spot will get you lit real quick off just 1 zombie then sobered up real quick off 1 order of chicken wings and fried rice. Like I have had fried rice at many asian businesses but their rice taste just like the rich flavorful ingredients as a Brooklyn chinese carryout. Not many places know how to whip up the rice like this. Every time I fly home I make sure I stop here! They never fail and I always have a good time. One zombie drink will get you right but two will get you like a smooth criminal. LOL. 5 stars every time.

7WORDS: Truly Traditional Chinese /Clean /Filling /Tasty /Pricy A RAINYNOVEMBERHAPPYHOUR Me and my regular foodie friend Art decided on China Phoenix, an east side standby that has survived the near demise of Hamilton Road restaurants and venues. The parking lot was crowded — and so was the bar area. That’s always a good sign. The restaurant was nearly empty, but it was 330p — so that’s to be expected. We were quickly seated by the hostess and greeted by the waiter, who took our order as soon as we were ready. I ordered a pork with mixed veggies dish while Art got the Shrimp, String Beans, and Veggies. Both of us also added a Spring Roll and a drink. Our orders arrived in two flights: appetizer and main dish. That was good. The Shrimp Rolls were both delicious and crisp — that was great. Luckily, my drink did not come with the«straw condom» which is so pervasive in Asian restaurants — and something that makes me more worried about germs than a piece of dried food on a plate. Getting an ordinary glass of soda was good, too. However, when Art ordered the lemonade, it was to be served in a can and no refills. That was a little bad. The main courses came out with traditional metal serving lids(nice) and were ample portions. The fried rice was without flair — traditional rice-a-roni look and taste of the original flavor — no punch. However, the dishes were both really tasty, even if the string beans were actually cut green beans according to Art. Stil, we both had enough for take-home after we got full. That was great. The total bill(at lunch/happy hour) came to 28+ without tip. That seems a little high for one seafood dish, two Spring Rolls, and two non-alcoholic drinks. Still, we did have leftovers, so it’s not horribly high and that’s the only sticking point. Would we return? In a heartbeat. Would love to explore their extensive list of things that are not named Moo Goo Something, General Something, or Wor Sue Something…

I loved China Phoenix for their chicken wings and zombie drinks… but…they have roaches and they are nonchalant about them. A couple in front of us found a couple of roaches crawling on the wall and alerted the waitress and she said okay no charge. When the customers complained to the manager, the manager said he knew about the Roach problem. DISGUSTING! I won’t be back.

Pretty good food– Super big portions! I was able to get 3 meals out of my leftovers. I did pick up and the food was ready on time, and service was great. Probably will eat here again seeing as it is close to my house.

Been one of my favorite Chinese places for years. Prices are reasonable, portions are good sized, love the fact the larger food containers do not have any metal and can be placed directly in the fridge. Try it if you get the chance.

Food is great. Service SUCKS! The servers are so rude to its customers. Just horrible but like most people, the customers keep going back.

I have been driving past this place for 5 years and my in-laws have been talking about a mixed drink this place specialized in called the Zombie for years. I always assumed it was a shot but to my surprise it came out in a wine glass with a fruit skewer. All I know for sure is that it has a shot of 151 rum but the other ingredients are still a mystery. We all had two each and I definitely understood why they were called zombies. Luckily, the restaurant was a half block away from my in-laws house and in walking distance. Talk about the walking dead! Lol. The owner knew my brother in law by first name and we didn’t even have to order. The place was ornate and had open seating. My 2 yr old was even able to run around and it didn’t seem like an issue. I haven’t had any of the food but my brother in-law raves about the chicken. I definitely plan to come back again.

Came in on Saturday about 3−4pm. it was very quiet and pleasant. I only had a coffee but I was with a group whom had ordered the chicken and crab Ragoon. It all looked mighty scrumptious just as they eluded. It was too bad I had already ate or I would have slammed down some general tso or egg rolls. I’d recommend this place if you want a good meal

I came here with a friend just out of curiosity. I ordered their Shrimp fried rice and my friend order the Kung Pow chicken. My shrimp fried rice was consistent with other shrimp fried rice, that I’ve had anywhere else. Nothing different or special to report, here! Lol My friend’s Kung Pow chicken is where the disappointment came in. The chicken was soggy and had a strange texture. The sauce that they used lacked any flavor and it looked similar to chicken broth. Again, it tasted nothing like a Kung Pow chicken. My friend ended up picking all of the chicken, out of her dish and only ate, the rice with veggies. I wouldn’t come back to this place again but if I’m ever in a pinch, I would order their shrimp fried rice.

I have been visiting this place for over three years and they are not consistent. Every time I go the portions are smaller and the prices are higher. I often have to tell them to rinse my shrimp because it occasionally taste like it was not stored properly or cleaned. Customer service tends to wax and wade as well. No where on earth except here do they charge you $ 11 for six whole chicken wings. That is like 115% mark up. I would love to walk through the kitchen to check their cleanliness. Instead I just pray. If they had any common sense they would expand the bar area.

We were looking for a new local Chinese restaurant because our old one was under new management and pretty terrible. This place had decent reviews so we tried it. Excellent take out American Chinese food. Lots of variety and fairly priced. I recommend this place if you’re on the southeast side of the city.

One of my favorite Chinese places in central Ohio. I prefer the General Tso’s Chicken, although the flavor is sometimes a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s bland but others it’s perfect. I think it’s the one cook they have that’s been their forever who cooks with the original flavor of what I can remember tasting when I was a kid. The Egg Rolls with sweet and sour have an unmatchable taste. Some of the best egg rolls I’ve ever had. The service is amazing… All the servers know me and my girlfriends order by heart and always bring out our drinks before we even get seated. The only two things that are bringing my review down to a 4 star is the un-consistent flavor of the chicken as well as the sometimes unpleasant loudness from the bar and other uncaring patrons when your trying to enjoy a nice dinner with your loved one. Overall a great restaurant, I definitely suggest it!

Here today for a slightly late lunch. Not busy at all on a Saturday at 1PM. I had my faves; eggrolls and Wor Sue Gai. Friend had sweet & sour chicken. Wonderful service. This time the waitress actually thought I was ordering two eggrolls by accident and was pantomiming long and big around. :) Told her I knew. :) Again blistering hot, a little bland but better than most. I’m again promising myself a trip to Ding Ho’s for sometime in the future to see if their eggrolls are still as good as I remember. Wor Su Gai again a winner. Hot, hot. hot in the metal server. I never met a gravy I didn’t like, so theirs was a plus. Got 4 eggrolls to freeze for later. Friend said her S&S Chicken was excellent. Enough left over to have another full meal. Hope they stay around for a while.

This was a fun place to eat, but a tad on the pricey side. The service there was absolutely amazing, our drinks were always filled and the servers very polite. The food taste was a bit off, no real distinctive flavor but the portions were absolutely gigantic. One entrée could easily feed 2 if not 3 people. This probably isn’t a place we’ll frequent much, but it is a good stop for the occasional change.

Very strong mixed drink. If you’re ever looking for a strong drink for the low, China Phoenix is the place to. The chicken wing topped with scallions are good too!

This is a decent Chinese food joint that we frequent due to them serving ham-fried rice. Being from Cleveland, ham fried rice is pretty much a staple on the Chinese food menus, but here in c-bus, you mostly find pork fried rice. Still the fare here is decent. Portions are ample and the variety of selections are wide. You get a 10% discount for carryout orders, which works, because the prices, especially for the area this places is located are a bit high. Service is good. I recently had a mishap where I was not given the correct food with my take out order. It is a 20 minute drive from my home here so I drove all the way back and the staff was apologetic and gave me the right order. I would have appreciated some other customer service gesture, but I was just happy with a thank you and the sincerity of their mistake. They do have a small bar area that always seems to be hopping, even with people not seemingly being allowed to smoke on earth, the bar area is still very active, with a wide selection of standard drinks. There is also a board with dinner/lunch specials and the overall ambiance of the place is decent.

I have been a fan of China Phoenix since I moved to the Southeast side of Columbus nearly 5 years ago. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. The place is not much for«atmosphere» but they do have a nice little bar, and that seems to be a pretty hot spot during happy hour. It’s a little out of the way, but noted in other reviews, there aren’t a whole of Chinese places on this side of town(minus the buffets). Not a bad place if you want to order carry out.

This is reasonably priced Chinese food but a bit on the bland side. We got an order of General Tso’s Chicken and Orange chicken to go and we couldn’t tell which one was which when we got them home!
