I visited the Columbus Singles office in July 2015. The office was tastefully decorated and I first noticed the member success stories streaming across the large screen TV. The receptionist greeted me at the front desk and notified the manger of my arrival. I met with one of the Relationship Specialists and we talked about my personal life as well as everything Columbus Singles had to offer. I was quite impressed with all of the services available, as well as the staff’s commitment and willingness to go above and beyond, for the members. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone who is serious about a committed relationship!

I, like the other reviewers, believe that Columbus Singles is the one and same company as Great Expectations going by another name. When I talked to them I had to clarify if they were part of the Meetup group by the same name. They aren’t, so don’t get fooled. Years ago I had a bad experience with Great Expectations where I had to threaten them with going to the Attorney General’s Office and the BBB in order to get my money back. In the end, I did prevail and they did credit my card back. This was back in the early 90’s. Fast forward to this year. One of their service reps kept calling me after I had filled out something on-line thinking they were the Meetup group. After I had done my homework, I found that they were the same as Great Expectations. I told her that I was not interested, that I had other avenues. She was professional and gracious about my telling her this. The very next week, another rep calls and this one was very RUDE and unprofessional. Asking me all kinds of questions and countering me with the fact that she has never heard of the other dating service… bullsh*t. I hung up on her because she was so rude. I called them right back and got the other rep that I had originally talked to. I told her about the other rep, she of course apologized. I have blocked their phone numbers thru my service company so that they can’t even get thru to me. Even though I have not had any experience with what their actual dating services are all about, my recommendation is to stay away from this company. I have not seen anything good about them at all. And please do not mistake them for the Columbus Singles group that is on the Meetup web site. This group is NOT associated with the company and is affiliated with A-List Introductions. Unfortunately, having the same name might keep folks away from the legit and safe avenue of meeting singles.

I had a similar experience to the reviewers of Great Expectations — awful! Appears from the address that this business used to be called Great Expectations. A big name change only makes me even more leery of this shady company. I clicked a link online for singles groups, then filled out my email and phone. They called me on a Sunday morning, so who looks desperate? I didn’t answer and they left a message, then called again that evening. I decided to check it out, figured what the heck. I was made to wait, fill out paperwork, agree to background and credit checks — all before knowing what their service entailed or the cost. When told they only offered contracts, I was especially concerned. Then found out a 3 year contract was $ 3600!!! Yep, $ 100 per month for 3 years. If you happen to meet someone early, you’re still paying for their services. Most clients, she said, opt for a 1 year contract at a staggering $ 6000!!! Certainly no one would blame me for exclaiming, «that’s crazy!» Then I said I could go on a singles cruise for even the«lower cost» membership. She said she had heard that one before. She went on to say their clients were not desperate, to which I said, «that sounds like desperate to me.» She then looked as if I had just threatened her physically and said, «I’m not offering you a membership, you need to leave.» I was quite ready to leave, but dumbfounded by her Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde transformation. I mean, she became SCARY! She then said I needed to leave NOW! And she escorted me out of their office. Seriously, they must see all types of reactions to what I think is borderline extortion. Six grand to find a date? Who does this? I could not get out of there quick enough. Beware of this group! Not worth the time. Oh, and check out the«info» description on Unilocal that mentions that their name is Great Expectations. There’s some wonderful grammar to boot. Classy!
