Very kind, small town kind of place. Needed a latch fixed on very different watch and they found a solution for it. Took a week and a half or so and watch battery replacement under 15 mins. No complaints, lots of cute old jewelry to tempt you as you wait as well!

I found a beautiful handmade sterling silver/turquoise ring that I needed to be resized. I brought it into the Curiosity Shop. I needed it to be resized in a week in order to have it to go back to school. Not only did they have it ready for me two whole days before they said, but they only charged me $ 12 for the resize, which is less than I’ve ever paid for something like that before. The ring was also thoroughly polished and shiny. They are fantastic!

I’m so glad that I found this shop. I had a custom design idea and hunted all over town for someone to help me. Finally, I was referred to the Curiosity Shop. They knew exactly what I needed and were great to work with! I have many other special projects and can’t wait to go back to them.

I tried to replace the battery in my watch, but wasn’t able to get the back of the watch put back on. I searched for watch repair shops in town, but most had really poor reviews. I found the Curiosity Shop and decided since it was near my apartment to give it a try. The people working were very pleasant, and because I brought my own battery they were kind enough to waive the fee. Will definitely keep them in mind for quick watch needs.

I simply loved this shop, however, I went in one day to pick up a watch that they did try to get repaired, as a matter of fact, they went above and beyond to try to repair my vintage Louis Vuitton watch. Unfortunately, when I went to pick it up, I also took in my two pieces of Tiffany silver jewelry to have it cleaned. Dee, took the two pieces from me, she went to the back, when she came back to the front counter, she handed me only the necklace, no bracelet! She said I did not give her a bracelet, only one piece. I am 100% sure I handed her two pieces of tiffany, as I had a box for each one. She truly tried to make me believe I was crazy and I only handed her one piece. I had been in the shop numerous times, Dee always seemed a little sketchy. I alerted the owner, he said there was nothing he could do. So furious! Will never enter these doors again!

I went to this place to get my watch band adjusted. The shop owner is very kind hearted, and his apprentice got my watch adjusted within 5 minutes. Super fast :) Furthermore, they only charged me 5 dollars. I am very happy :) The shop is more of a jewelry store and they have so many beautiful pieces. Girls should definitely visit this place. Oh, the owner’s daughter is very beautiful and warmhearted too :)

Man, I fell in love with this shop right away. I just got engaged and the boyfriend and I went here together to ring shop. I knew I wanted to do a vintage ring and was pretty confident I didn’t want to do a diamond. First of all, this shop is packed. I had no idea such a small store could hold so many cases(and so much jewelry in those cases!). Everything is grouped by stone with costume jewelry in the front and fine jewelry in the back. Lou was very attentive, really listened to what I wanted, and then showed me the pieces that would fit that while still listening to what was working and was not about each piece for me. And then he found my engagement ring. I tried to play it cool and have him hold it(they’ll hold a piece for 24 hours under your name), but I couldn’t stay away that long. Resizing can take about a week so keep that in mind. Additionally, don’t worry about the metal. If you know you want all silver or all gold, they can make that happen. Just be prepared to wait 3 – 4 weeks. I’m cautiously optimistic that will be on schedule and smooth, just like the rest of this transaction. All in all, I am so happy about this place! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nontraditional ring, especially if you’re interested in vintage jewelry!

My husband bought me gorgeous vintage diamond and emerald drop earrings as a wedding present. But he wanted to change the emeralds to onyx to go with our black and white wedding colors so I could wear them on our big day. He was recommended to the Curiosity Shop to do the work to replace the stones. The onyx stones needed to be emerald cut to go with the design of the earrings and my husband made sure to go over this with them a couple of times since timing was crucial. But when he received the call that they were finished and went to pick them up, he found that they were regular square cut chunks of onyx and not the emerald cut stones like he asked for. At this point there was no time to get them reset with the correct stones before the wedding and he was really upset. The shop promised to make it right and redo the work after the wedding. So we took the earrings back to them a few weeks later to be fixed. They told us they’d be done within a couple weeks. I called a month later to find out that the wrong size stones were ordered and they had to reorder them again and I’d be called in another couple weeks when they came in. I waited another month and called them again. They told me they were finished a week ago, but we never received a call that they were finished. When we finally picked up the earrings, one of the center stones was completely lopsided and the prongs are very large and cumbersome for the delicate setting. It’s very expensive to have stones reset in prongs(you are charged per prong) and so getting them reset again would be very expensive. But after 2 times of trusting this shop to do the job correctly, I didn’t want to bother trying a third time. We will not be returning to this store and I’m very disappointed with their work.

I went in there with my sister-in-law just to browse. While everything was fun to look at I did not appreciate them constantly trying to convince us to buy something. I did ask about watch batteries because mine had just started to die. They so «oh yeah and we can replace it for only $ 5!» So I had them replace it and the date on it mysteriously stopped working the next day. I went back in and mentioned the date stopped working the day after they changed my battery and they said«Nothing we would have done would have caused that, but we can look at it.» Finally after a week they called and told me it would be $ 30 to repair. Well it’s only a $ 70 watch so I said no and just left it alone. Then not even 6 months after they put in a new battery it kept slowing down and stopping. So I took my watch to Arlington watch and coin and explained the whole thing to the guy there, he took a look and said«How much did they charge you to put in the wrong size battery?» Turns out that was interfering with date and with a new battery everything works now. I am never going back to the Curiousity shop, no matter how pretty their stuff may be!

If you like jewelry, then this is THE place for you! Especially vintage jewelry. The friendly owner and his assistant have told me there are over 17,000 pieces there plus more that they haven’t put out yet. They have very well known costume jewelry pieces such as Kenneth Jay Lane, Coro, Corocraft, Ora, Hollycraft and plenty more! They have fine jewelry also. Lou, the owner, is super knowledgeable and will spend the time with you to tell you all about a piece you like. I never feel pressured or rushed here. He actually designs jewelry too. He recently came up with a design for me within minutes for some beads I had that I didn’t know what to do with. Amazing since the two high end jewelry stores I’d taken them too didn’t know what to do with them at all. Thanks Lou! I’ll be back!

I love this little shop and i have developed a fun friendship with Lou and his very fun and eclectic assistant… I had a vintage Bohemian garnet ring lose its center stone and Lou picked out a beautiful little diamond to put in place of the missing garnet… only 40 dollars for the diamond and labor… they also turned some earrings into beautiful rings and fixed old rings I haven’t worn in years… I am glad to find this shop!

My boyfriend suggested going to Curiousity after I had dropped and damaged a vintage owl necklace(that I had found for a bargain at a thrift store) and needed to get it fixed. I had never heard of the store before, but when I went in I was pleasantly surprised. The array of jewels they have spread out in cases is a feast for the eyes and I was impressed by the colorful wall of streaming necklaces and bracelets. The price to get my great bargain necklace fixed ended up being a little much, which was a disappointment, but they did a good job on it. Plus I found a pretty silver cuff bracelet in the daily $ 5 dollar bin while I was waiting, so that made it better. And they even sometimes have treats to munch on while you’re looking. I have to say that I am happy about discovering this cute jewelry shop.

I’m not all that in to jewelry stores in general, but had to go in to get a watch battery replaced for a family member in an old watch. This was a simple and close place to stop by and finally do it. The inside was interesting enough and made up of what you would expect(lots of glass cases with lots of jewelry). I spent the next twenty minutes looking around. Ultimately we waited way too long for it to be replaced but it was average in price and close to home. Its worth a pop in, but don’t let them talk you in to buying anything you’re not intending to.

So-so customer service and a crappy location(it’s the only shop for a couple of blocks in any direction) make the Curiousity Shop a tough draw near the corner of High and Broadway. What this little shop can offer is jewelry, jewelry, jewelry. The shop specializes in antique costume jewelry — necklaces and rings especially. They offer the best selection that I’ve seen in Columbus of the stuff. So, if that’s your thing, check out the Curiousity Shop.

I have heard SOMUCH about this place and had to check it out. So I went with a friend who had been eying a vintage ring for quite a while. The owner of the shop spit out heaps of knowledge about the stone, the ring, the era(it was vintage) etc and we were really impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm. My friend loved the ring but not the price and was able to haggle a bit and bring the cost down from $ 150 to $ 125 though he didn’t seem too thrilled about it. Fast forward a few days later… Friend looked up ring online out of curiosity(haha– get it) and found that the ring was in fact NOT vintage and not this amazing, precious stone but actually glass. Not to mention, the retail price is $ 75. Friend is NOT happy and is planning a return visit to– at a minimum– get back the $ 50 difference. I will update post at a later time. A note to the wise… browse, research and THEN buy from the Curiosity Shop. Any idea if this is affiliated with The Curiousity Shop in Westerville? I looked online and couldn’t find any information.
