Got the cheeseburgers and they were amazing! Definitely would come back again. Minor setback with the order and had to wait longer than usual, but they made up for it.

SOOOOSTINKIN’ DELICIOUS!!! We had to take a detour due to the highway being closed and found this gem. We laughed at the name and how it was a knock off… after eating here I am thinking the other place stole the name from Dairy Cone! This is a cute little drive-in where you walk to the window and order. The people working there are so Texas friendly I could hardly contain my happiness. We ordered the cheeseburger, frito pie, chili cheese dog and french fries. After I ordered, the girl asked what I was driving and told me she would wave to me when my order was ready. So, I returned to my car and anxiously awaited her wave. OMG! HEAVEN! All of the food is handmade fresh, no premade stuff here. The hamburger was HUGE and so delicious. The frito pie was a Southern Girl’s dream and the chili dog was tasty. We left fully satisfied and only about $ 20 lighter in the wallet. I can hardly wait to get over there again for another deliciously cheap date night!

Best hamburger I have eaten in 15 years. Brought me back to the late 50’s early 60’s. Highly recommended.

Headed to Elgin and decided to try this place out from the Unilocal reviews. Burger was super duper juicy! Really good, would have been 5 stars easy but I thought it needed a little more seasoning aka salt… The fries were blah. I would for sure stop there again when I’m passing through town and have a burger craving!!!

Please hire people that will be friendly & give good customer service. The food is so good but the service was poor. The girl at the drive through was not friendly at all & charged us for something we did not get just to me mean in my opinion. A smile & greeting followed by a thank you for your order will go a long way. Not just look at you like we are bothering her by ordering food, geez…

Great burgers every time! Their fresh buns and handmade patties cooked on a seasoned grill are perfect. 4 stars because we always have to eat our burgers in the car. They have picnic tables outside but nature always drives us inside the car. We are no match for heat, mosquitoes or flies.

Burgers are wonderful if the right cook is on. Service can be really slow on a Friday night when they are busy(30 mins) just for a burger and fries. Definitely a must try

Great food! This is a great old fashion hamburger stand! Locally owned! They make a great burger. This is one of the best places to eat in Columbus. They have a little bit of everything!

This is what a small town burger place is like. All natural ingredients and tasty food. Sure it’s fast food, but they know how to make the meat seared yet fabulously juicy. They don’t skimp on the fixings. This is what a Whataburger is emulated from. They have real Blue Bell ice cream shakes! It’s not a restaurant but they do have picnic tables outside. You just walk up and order from one of the windows. They are a Columbus Texas institution.

If you are looking for a great old fashioned hamburger stand, this is the place. I had the cheeseburger and it was awesome! Fresh bun, tender meat, crisp vegetables and the perfect amount of cheese. Easy stop off I-10 between San Antonio and Houston Exit 696 or take business 71 if going or coming from Austin. They have Blue Bell shakes and other classic favorites. I will return soon to sample more!

This place is what you’d expect from a small-town joint. It’s quaint, yet tasty. I may have expected a little more from the past reviews, but it was still good for a milkshake spot that served food. It seemed more like a hometown Dairy Queen. Good stuff, though. I will most likely happen upon this place should we roll through the tiny town again.

I have since had the pleasure of enjoying Dairy Cones chicken strips and nuggets. That adds a whole other star. Amazing
