Evan Joseph Salon

Evan is my hero. I got married in Columbus last month and I needed to find a curly hair wizard to fix me up pretty. As anyone with curly hair knows, finding someone you trust for a regular hair cut is hard. Finding someone you trust on your wedding day is even harder.
First, when I called Evan to schedule an appointment, he told me he was booked the day of my wedding. Have no fear! He quickly called up some of his regulars, made some adjustments to his schedule, and found a way to accommodate me and my mom. (Being a bride has some undeniable advantages.)
I met him for the first time at my run through and I was instantly comfortable. That never happens to me with hairdressers — I’m always a little nervous and suspicious. But not this time. And his salon is relaxed and beautiful.
During the run through, he took the time to look at pictures of my dress and the venue and gave me two completely different hairstyles that he thought would work well. He totally nailed it.
On my wedding day, my hair looked even better than I could have dreamed. I actually burst into tears when I saw it. I didn’t know it could look that way. And I owe it all to Evan!
(I’ll probably regret writing this review because it will get harder and harder to get an appointment once people figure out how good he is.)

I had such a wonderful, positive experience with Evan! I never fully realized the potential of my curls prior to seeing him. He was very patient and informative– I learned so much about styling my hair in a natural, healthy way!
I wear my hair very long, so I don’t have to see him too often (I’m overdue. oops!), but I look forward to seeing the evolution to the shape and texture of my hair as I continue to book with him.
Mom’s of teen girls with texture: please take them to Evan. You can’t put a price-​tag on self-​esteem and being able to embrace your natural hair. If I’d had Evan when I was young I would have avoided many tears, botched haircuts and bad hair days.

I have been using Evan to do my hair for years and now he finally has a place of his own! The space is lovely and he always does an excellent job with my hair. My daughter now gets her hair done here too and asks to come here all the time. Parking is easier than you would think for the Short North, there are meters right in front and a new parking garage just across the street. It’s easy to find and I know I will be coming again and again! Thank you Evan for all the miracles you perform every time!
