I chose this facility because it was close to the apartment I was moving out of. I was told that the rent would be $ 50 a month. What I wasn’t told that every month there would be taxes and fees that would make the rent more like $ 60-$ 65 a month. I’ve had a storage unit there for 4 months now and last month I was told my rent would be going up for no reason other than the facility periodically raises rent for no reason. If I had known this at the beginning I would have gone elsewhere. Aside from their shady business practices, there are other issues. If you rent a unit here you have to cross your fingers that you get one that is easy to get to. Mine is inside a building, on the second floor. I was shown the unit via the stairwell. I was told there were stairs as well as an elevator on the other side of the building to get to it. What I didn’t know that even after using the elevator to get to the second floor, I would have to go down a long hall way, through a door, up some stairs, and through another door to get to my unit. Imagine how incredibly difficult and frustrating that was when I had an entire U-Haul truck worth of furniture and other items to move. It made what should have been a fairly easy process very long and frustrating for myself and the people I had helping me. I ended up having the U-Haul truck for an hour longer than I was supposed to because of the difficulty of the move. Moving a queen sized bed, dresser, chest of drawers and other small things off the truck and into the unit took nearly 4 hours. There were 4 wheel carts and dollies provided by the facility to help facilitate the move but they were pretty useless once I got to the second level and had to go up a set of stairs and down another hallway to get to my unit. Other people who have ground units, or ones that on the second floor but easier to get to, probably have better things to say. The design of that place is piss poor. All units should be equally accessible. Had I known how hard it was going to be to move things in and out of there, I would have gone somewhere else. I am not looking forward to moving my things out of there, because I know it is going to be a huge pain due to the poor design of the building. But I will be happy to be done with that place once and for all. If anyone were to rent a storage unit here, I would recommend insisting on a ground unit or one right off the elevator. Also, beware that they can and will raise the price on you for no apparent reason other than the fact that they can.
