This is one of my least favorite Giant Eagles to visit for the following reasons: — Lack of inventory. I often have found this location will be completely out of a specific produce item. Once it was fresh spinach. Another time it was shredded carrots. They insist that someone just came buy and bought them out that day, or that there were issues with deliveries. Once a manager admitted that Donatos shops there when they run out of supplies. NOFAIR! — Lack of variety. My favorite brands and selections just aren’t in this store. There’s plenty of other options, but that’s not what I want. I don’t understand why they only carry a limited number of brands. For instance Charmin Basic toilet paper in a 12-pack, or Hefty-storage bags. — Lack of cashiers. Better ring yourself up becasue lines are long and cashiers are scarce. Other minor nuiances include the sliding front doors squeal, loudly upon opening. There’s only one entrance. Deli techs are sometimes annoyed to slice meat to specification.

It’s clean, they have a wide variety of foods that you don’t always find at other retailers, and it costs way more than any of the other local groceries. One thing that I almost never find myself purchasing a giant eagle is meet. Whether it be four dollars per pound for ground chuck, or $ 3.50-$ 4 a pound for chicken breasts, their meat is just always way overpriced. At the same time, they generally have decent pricing on fruits and vegetables. One great thing about giant eagle, they often run 4x fuel point rewards on gift card purchases. So if you know that you are buying something soon, it definitely is in your favor to purchase gift cards at giant eagle first. Unlike Kroger, there is no limit to how much money you can save off of a tank of gas, only that you’re limited to 30 gallons of gas. When I bought my house, I purchased thousands of dollars of Lowe’s gift cards at Giant Eagle. I ended up getting 30 gallons of gas for free when gas used to cost $ 4/gallon. What I will say though, is there never seem to be nearly enough cashiers working. It doesn’t matter what time of day you go in, there will be a shortage of workers, and you will wait in line to pay for your food.
