GTR airport gets the job done. It’s small and efficient, with only two flights a day, I believe. The security lines will never be long so arriving 30 minutes before your flight should be sufficient. I’ve heard that flights are notoriously canceled a lot out of here, so make sure you check your flight status frequently. The person who checks you at the front will also take your ticket at the gate. And then you’ll walk outside to get in the planes.

This airport is tiny and offers no frills. But, it is extremely convenient to residents of the area, and is very quick and efficient. I usually arrive there no earlier than an hour before my flight. Parking is plentiful and you will walk right into the security area. Security takes no time at all, and they do offer a TSA pre-check line, despite the TSA website saying that they don’t. There is one gate, one(type of) plane, and one destination. Waiting at the gate, there is plenty of seating, free wifi, and a Keurig coffee maker. You will walk out onto the runway to board the plane. The plane is small and there is not enough overhead room for most rolling bags, so you will have to hand it over and pick it up when you deplane in Atlanta. Atlanta is the only destination, and it takes less than an hour to get there. I only wish it weren’t so expensive — it typically costs ATLEAST $ 200 more to fly from GTR than from Birmingham to the same destination. However, depending on what you have going on, the total cost of your trip, etc., it is definitely sometimes worth it for the saved time and stress.

This is the worst airport to fly out grandson had a 6:45 flight. they didn’t have a mechanic so they brought one in from Atlanta Georgia. After waiting hour after hour the plane was do to leave at 12:00.Its now 12:20 and are just now boarding the plane. I hope I never have to come to this airport again.

Small and simple, and one wishes that there were more destinations and flights offered. But GTR is extremely efficient at what it does, modest as that is. Easy to get in and out of, and never terribly crowded. A boon to the area.

This is one of if the best airports I’ve been to. It’s simple, harmonious, and functional. Lines are short when existent, people are extremely friendly with southern charm. There is free candy and coffee at check in(where do you find that anymore???). You can take your time when parking, loading and unloading, and it’s FREE if not overnight. Also free purified water in the concourse. Such a treat!!!

Great airport to fly into. One north south runway but they both have ILS’. Small airport so it’s tricky when taxiways close but it’s all doable!

You have to appreciate GTR in the context of what it is: a regional airport that serves, like, at most fifteen people. With that in mind, I think it’s a fine little airport. Parking is easy and inexpensive, and they even have free wifi, which is a super nice perk. Given that it’s a small aiport, there’s no restaurants or fast food places, just vending machines — but since they only open security ten minutes before the flight anyway, you might as well bring a snack or a coffee.

Small airport, one gate and limited security. Regional serving Columbus and Starkville and others in the area, Delta serves here. Security is quick, staff friendly, and limited flights. You will be walking on the tarmac to get to and from the flights. Check your carry on at the planes since they are small, but even then the runway and hard stops make it seem a bit small. Free wifi and you can actually have people waiting for you near enough to see the gate!

Continuing my trend for reviewing airports. VERYSMALL airport, only a couple flights a day. Nice part is this means they are usually on time. Closest airport to C-bus so good for avoiding that 2 hour drive to larger airports. Do not expect food service and don’t be surprised if you can’t go through security more than 15 minutes before your flight as they open it on a flight by flight basis.
