How have I not been in here before?! Wide selection of wines and beer! Plus there is a bar side to sit and drink and a retail side where you can«grab and go» Plus! Yummy food trucks parked there most days! I’m glad we have something like this in Bexley and its so close to home. Headed there right now!

I have tried to give this place a fair shot. The beer selection is good, and the young man that works retail is great. He has introduced me to several beers I would not have tried. Now for the reason behind the one star. The owners of this place are very rude. I have walked in here a half hour before closing and before the door even closes, I get«last call». No hello no welcome more or less a «get out». It seems like these people wanted to have a bar in their basement for their friends. Because if they don’t know you you are definitely not welcome. On a different occasion I came in and said«it is starting to rain, so whoever has the jeep may want to put the roof up». The owner looked at me and said«it is mine, I am watching it» in an extreme nasty tone. Next I walked over to the retail side and started looking for beer. I had some friends on the way to my house so I wanted to grab four six packs. The woman owner comes running over and asks me what I am doing. I tell her I am buying some beer and she says that the retail side is closed.(The retail side and the taproom are attached with a walkway in between, no door). She then said that she would help me «this time» and refused to let me reach in the cooler. She almost pushed me out of the way and told me not to grab the beer. With so much competition, I don’t understand how you can run a business like this. The tap room is open but the retail is closed? Why would you not want to make a sale? Why are you so rude to your customers? I have been here at least four times and have had the exact same experience each time. I am done. Once the Giant Eagle opens I think it will be a short life for this place because there will be another place to buy craft beer in Bexley. It is a shame because I feel like it has so much potential.

The other evening my family and I(about 8 of us) went into Grain and Grape taproom for one drink — about ten minutes before they were closing. There were about 15 people still in the bar. As we went to order a drink, the owners told us they were closed and would not serve us. I understand they wanted to get out of there, but they weren’t closed yet and we were clear we were only staying for one drink. Looking back on previous visits, the owners have never been very friendly… sour grapes! Thank goodness for Zoe’s down the street! I would give the shop portion a 4 star review. All workers have been very courteous!

This is primarily a review for the grain + grape taproom, which I’m giving five stars. I’d give the shop portion of the store 4 stars, with a 4.5 average rounding up to… five stars! The store is a solid alternative to big box stores and has a bigger selection of wine and beer than the other wine shop in town, Terroir. If I were comparing the two shops, I’d say grain + grape is the place to go for craft beer and Terroir is the shop for wine. The staff at the grain + grape shop are friendly and helpful, but don’t seem to have the passion for the product that Chris has for wine at Terroir. On the other hand, they have an impressive bottled beer selection for a small shop, and a taproom. Grain + grape, the taproom, is my favorite bar in Bexley. They have put a lot of thought into the beers they carry and while the draft list isn’t large, it is well-selected given the number of available taps. I love that they post when they clean their tap lines, an area of sanitation(and sanitation is critical when dealing with beer) that many larger local beer joints seem to fall short on. The taproom has a couple of small bar areas and a few scattered tables. Don’t worry if you can’t find the restrooms at first. They are tucked behind the bar and to use the women’s restroom, it feels like you are going to walk into the beer fridge.

I’d seen this place a few times driving by and finally got a chance to stop in. I didn’t go in the taproom, so my review is only on the retail shop. I should also note that I was shopping for beer only. However, their wine selection looked to be pretty extensive! The beer selection is decent, but not huge. The pricing on their beer was in line with everywhere else. The guy working was friendly and I checked out promptly. It’s a good spot to grab some craft beer. I live a little closer to Cornerstone, so that will continue to be my go to. I wouldn’t mind stopping in for a drink or two at the taproom sometime in the near future though.

They have a great rotating selection of craft beers that includes a lot of local(Ohio) breweries. By far the best place to get take-out beer in the Bexley area. The staff is always really welcoming. They just opened a small bar next door that I have yet to try, but looks pretty neat. They should consider illuminating their sign outside. Sometimes I drive right by it when I am not paying attention.

Really good select of central Ohio breweries & wines. They are opening tasting room, which will be pretty cool. Prices are reasonable & the staff is helpful

A decent wine shop on the East side of Columbus that’s not in grocery store I’ll take it! Knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff, funky local crafts, yeah I am fan! Oh and the prices are pretty good too, walked out with two bottles of Syrah for under $ 20!

I’m a hop-head and a zin-ophile and appreciate the convenience of a good selection of craft beers and an unexplainable mix of wines — right here on the East Side. In the tradition of their predecessors, the shopping experience is stilted and uncomfortable, mostly. For luxury retail the love is spread pretty thin.
