It’s hard to miss the Grizzle Burger truck, what with the yellow-and-black paint scheme. Kind of a big sheet metal bumblebee, but with burgers. The paint job was a good match for the cheery dispositions of the people running it, who greeted me warmly, and happily explained their offerings. I opted for the Grizzle Burger, which came with it’s namesake sauce. It was a solid burger, griddle-fried(no flame broiling in a food truck), accompanied by the aforementioned sauce, a slice of tomato, and some iceberg lettuce. It was modest and honest, and tasty. It reminded me of what American fast food should be, back before it became a soulless corporation(yes, I’m talking about you McDonald’s) that serves garbage and stiffs its workers. I reserve particular praise for Grizzle’s fries, which were hand cut. Which means they were uneven — some small and thin and crispy, some thick and meaty — and absolutely perfect. The proprietor happily reminded me that besides ketchup there were little takeaway containers you could fill with one of their homemade sauces, which I did. And the whole meal was $ 7, which puts it on par with chain fast food, but with a lot more soul.

The garlic burger was fantastic, and only $ 4. Burger patty was tender, and the veggies and sauces went with it perfectly. The lady that was working the truck gave us free fries too!

After driving by the Grizzle Burger food truck for a couple of weeks I finally decided to give it a shot. I have to say that I’m glad I did. I decided to try the truck’s namesake, the Grizzle Burger which cost me a whopping $ 4! Four bucks for a burger this good made me feel like I was pulling a heist! The beef was fresh as were the toppings. I believe the bun was toasted, which may not seem very important, but for me, it’s the little things that make the difference. If you’re cruising down Kenny Road around lunchtime, and you have a few bucks, I highly recommend giving Grizzle Burger a try!
