Hampton Inn Columbus-South – Fort Benning

If you’re looking for a hotel close to Fort Benning, this is the one. The area outside the fort is pretty sketchy looking, and that’s where a lot of the other hotels are located. However, this hotel is actually inside the main gate of the fort, so it’s basically like a little bubble of niceness. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. Nothing to complain about here.

This hotel is great, but there are some things that they lack. Let me get to the good part first. The hotel is clean and nice. The people at the front are so nice and welcoming. They call and check in with you if everything is okay at the room. If you have your do not disturb sign, then they will drop off extra towels and soaps in a plastic bag near your door. They provide pretty good breakfast and they have cookies and fruits time to time during the day. The two complaints I have is that they dont have a restaurant or a small gift shop/​store and their water being sold out in the vending machines. I was really thirsty from my flight and vending machines were not properly being refilled. All the waters were sold out on each floor. Yes, I went to each level to get water from the vending machine. I checked the next day as well and they still didnt restock the vending machine. I wish my level (3) had a snack vending machine. Anyways, I drank tap water. Whatever ahah Just a heads up for those who are planning to stay here. I assumed that there would be a restaurant inside. My b.

Not pet friendly though! Implement a pet fee and a 25# non-​aggressive breed policy so I can bring my family here. Otherwise a great place to stay.

I highly recommend Hampton Inn South Fort Benning. I’m really picky when it comes to hotels and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and hotel. First, and most important, it’s very clean. Both the rooms and common areas. Second, that staff is phenomenal. They are so friendly and helpful. We were visiting for my brother’s graduation from basic and they helped direct us to local restaurants and to Fort Benning for his turning blue ceremony. Every staff member made it a point to congratulate my brother and they even had a cake to celebrate with the families and soldiers. This means so much to me. Breakfast was hot and delicious every morning. Quick service if we needed additional pillows, towels, etc. The room rates were very reasonable and it’s within walking distance to the National Infantry Museum making it the perfect location. Thanks again for a great experience.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Not only were the rooms and rest of the hotel very clean, the staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel is very modern and felt very warm when I first entered the hotel. They took care of every need I had with ease and quickness. I whole heartedly recommend this hotel if you are in the Columbus area, especially if you are in town for Ft Benning.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Staff is great at the desk and hotel is very clean for as many people come through here. Ragina and Eugina at breakfast are the only reason we come back. They will sing to you and they are sooooo polite!!! Such a wonderful experience. Will stay here again.

It was a great hotel. Very clean. Location in Columbus was outstanding for the Museum Golf Course and a short drive to downtown. Staff was so friendly and always there fore our needs. Totally worth a stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days to see my son’s graduation at fort Benning. This was the nicest staff I have ever seen ANYWHERE! The rooms are clean nice food is good it’s not 5 star but for a free breakfast it’s above average. They have a nice pool and offer 24hr coffee. If you are a parent coming in from out of town I would highly recommend this place! I have not slept so well in a long time and my husband snores like he’s chopping down a forest! My only complaint is I probably wont have to come back to fort Benning since my son was only here for school!

Excellent place to stay. Staff treated us like VIPs. Jazmin and Patrice at the front counter are great. They were very helpful, accommodating and added a personal touch to our stay.
The 24hr coffee bar they have is great. Thank you for that.

Loved it. So Close to fort Benning and the museum, away from the crowd. Clean establishment and beautiful. I will be back in a month see you then

Really holds the tradition of a great Hampton Inn. Don’t think I’ll stay anywhere else but here on my future trips. Within walking distance to the U.S. Army Infantry Museum.
