For a city of its size, Columbus has a dearth of decent musical instrument stores that stock guitars. There’s Sam Ash and Guitar Center and… well, that’s about it. There are a few boutiques that are generally overpriced and understocked, but there aren’t many great shops.
K R A Music, located in the remnants of Southland Mall, gets closer than most. Guitar-​wise, they offer a healthy number of Fender Strats and Teles. The acoustic section was lacking in any serious quality — no Martins, Taylors or Takamines to be found. Lower-​end brands are plenty represented. There are lots of Squires too, but that’s just the way it goes. There will always be 12-​year-​old kids to buy them.
K R A offers basses. guitar accessories, percussion and PA equipment as well.
Despite its shady location, this place probably deserves a visit if you’re in the market for a guitar.
