Wow, great Sunday brunch! Very good food, bloody Mary bar, and reasonable prices for the quality. Definitely coming back.

Very impressed with this up and coming brewery. I’ve had a few local beers in my day and I am really enjoying the flavors they are making here. The Mirror Lake IPA has some extremely sophisticated notes going for it and they have just started crafting it. The chef is coming up with some really great food choices too. A homemade ketchup compliments the fresh cut fries really well. This isn’t a dive bar so if you want a place to throw back shots with the bros you need look elsewhere. Grown ups can come here for a drink and get a good bite to eat.

Went to visit this neighborhood classic that was suggested to us from generations past. Seated on a small barrel with three seats on their outdoor patio on a beautiful spring day. Ignored by a waiter who failed to acknowledge our presence for 20 minutes even after reviewing menus and silverware from the hostess. Wanted to help its revival but unlikely to give it another try after this first impression. Did they learn nothing over the past year?

We knew that it had gone into recievership, but there was an article in the Dispatch by the current management about a new menu and different specials every day. Then they offered a Groupon. My assistant gave it to me for a Christmas present. My husband and I went there for dinner on Wednesday night at 7:00PM. It was closed. The phone number on the Groupon in for a company named Griffin with no way to get to the Knotty Pine. Me thinks they offered a Groupon as a way to get some cash.

Good American food, neighborhood atmosphere. This was another one of my Friday night Groupon explorations. Prior to going to Knotty Pine, my wife had heard rumors that it always had a bunch of «regulars» and we would feel out of place. This was not the case. I had the Knotty Pine Pasta, which had steak cuts in it. I enjoyed it. The overall experience was good, nothing exceptional in terms of the service or the dining room/bar set up. I’d like to go back to try the«BBQ turkey tips» and sit on the patio.

My husband and I decided to see if things had improved since the place went into receivership in October 2012. It hadn’t. Burgers were raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be cooked, service was non-existent(one poor waitress was taking care of the entire place on a very busy Friday night), pop was mostly carbonation and no syrup, iced tea was weird, and my husband’s hot pasta dish was lukewarm. My son said, Mom, we are never coming back here, are we? I told him that the place was just having an off night, but I don’t really believe that. The lesson to be learned from the demise of the Knotty Pine is that, unless you truly know what you’re doing, stay out of the restaurant and bar business.

This is an okay neighborhood place with decent food, good service and a nice patio. The regular menu is standard bar fare, but the specials are usually interesting. Worth checking out if you live in the neighborhood, but not worth driving across town for.

Overall, a nice neighborhood bar. My drinks were made well, and my crab cake appetizer was tasty(although, the pineapple salsa advertised on the menu had been discontinued and they brought me a lemon mayo instead. it was alright, but I wanted the salsa). The patio is nice, parking is very accessible, and the tables were kept clean. Drinks were pricy(I was there during a happy hour time, and my crown and ginger was 6.50 for a fairly small drink. Really pricy for the size beverage I was getting). food was delivered quickly, silverware took a little longer. Only downside was our server — she kept taking draws from an electronic cigarette next to our table«cause we are friends!»(no, we were not friends. i don’t know you. you are my server. I am friends with servers, I am a server, just not friends with you. don’t fake smoke next to me.) and she was drinking a beer that she was storing on our table(weird. really weird. not sure if she was allowed to be drinking, or just trying to hide it on our table) If it wasn’t for the awkwardness I felt with her, I would of enjoyed my night much more.

Overpriced mediocre food, plus there is no happy hour. I can go a block over and get more for my money. On the plus, it has a nice patio.

We are regulars at the Knotty Pine and love it! The owner is good with people and we really like the staff. It’s just down the street, people are nice and the service is excellent. We started going to the restaurant when we first moved to the area after graduating and go back a few times a month. They remember what we order, they’re happy to help and have a great attitude. Go to the Knotty Pine. You’ll like it.

I grew up just around the corner and passed there on my way to school… many years ago. I’ve witnessed the changes that have occured since it was a market/bar with a bocci court in the back yard. It’s always had a good reputatiojn as a neighborhood pub. I’d never miss the chance to visit when I am in town!

KP’s is good old-fashioned bar & grill atmosphere. Likely the key to its success is that the place reeks of «neighborhood» as a part of Grandview. And that’s always a plus when it comes to locals walking in for a cold brew, wine and to have a sandwich. I won’t say I’ve sampled the menu across the board but I ate there last night with 7 other friends. Everyone was happy. Blackened chicken sandwiches, wedge salads, smoked quesadilla(me! — good), and even a chicken salad sandwich on toast. The food disappeared without fanfare which, for me, says GOODEATING. An after-golf refresher would be fun but other places are just easier to get to for my taste. It’s location is off any main drag in Grandview so if you’re Unilocaling — congratulations — because a person would never drive by it unless by mistake. Visitors won’t do themselves a disservice at KP’s… you’ll have fun and enjoy good F&B.

Thursday’s at the Knotty Pine are great with Joe Dunlop. A good place to meet friends and a Grandview tradition.

My parents had been raving about this place for a while now, which was odd, because they just don’t usually go to restaurants like this. So tonight, with my mom on the other side of the world, my dad and I met here for a bite. We started off with some fried oysters which were awesome. I usually hate cooked oysters, but these were so lightly cooked, delicate and mild, they were almost like eating a raw oyster. The chopped salad was good, I really liked the dressing. We shared; a grilled tuna steak, which was as grilled and tunaee as you could hope, although not cooked rare as we had asked, a burger, which was cooked perfectly medium rare, and was delicious, onion rings, asparagus, and risotto. I also went for a peach cobbler w/ice cream, which was thoroughly peachy and cobblery. In the end, my favorite thing about this place is that you can get great onion rings, and great oysters. Great tuna steak, and a great burger. It’s got booths and it’s laid back, but still a little nice, and they had a guy playing piano too. I can’t say much about the service. He got our order right, brought things out at the right time, filled our drinks. Pretty bland personality, kind of matter of fact. I left feeling solid about my experience, but I wasn’t blown away by much other than the oysters. However, I rarely leave a place feeling so good about every aspect of a meal. I could see being a regular here if I lived in Grandview.

Awful service! Every time I’ve been, they take forever. The last time I was there, I sat for 10 minutes before leaving because no one would come to the table… they were too busy on the other side of the bar, watching tv and gossiping on their cell phones. The food there is just okay, and the prices are also just okay. Overall, not worth the time to wait for service, if you ever get service at all.

Best Buffalo Chicken Sandwich Evah! The Pine is a cool, laid back atmosphere that is surprisingly never busy. I have had multiple items off of their menu and they are always good. The service is great, but the beer selection could be a bit better. This is often my default restaurant. The portobello mushroom sandwich is good for the vegetarians out there.

This truly is your friendly, neighborhood bar. There has been a restaurant on this location for decades– long before Grandview became the hipster, trendy place it is. While The Knotty Pine Grill is nothing fancy, it is certainly not what I consider a dive bar. Flat screen TV’s around a glossy island bar and steaks on the menu bumps it up a slight notch. I never came here when it was the«old» Knotty Pine, but I’ve eaten and drank here several times since it was rennovated 5 or 6 years ago. However, I come here with minimal expectations– to have a cold drink, a decent bar meal and usually just hang out with friends. We meet here more for the convenient location and low-key atmosphere than for it’s food. The clientele vary from young and hip to the older 40 – 50 somethings. The menu has all your standard bar food, but there are a few stand out items like the in-house smoked BBQ and burgers. It’s a no fuss– no muss kind of place.

Just one thing: the tomato basil soup! I craved something brothy, but expected a creamy base like most tom-bas soups are. I was thrilled to be served a tomato basil soup with a thinner broth! There were tomato chunks and a wonderful complement of basil and other spices. Five stars for the soup!

This a pleasant place to have a few drinks. I can’t say much about the food, I didn’t have anything, but a few of our friends did, and they seemed satisfied with it. I liked that there was parking, and and it wasn’t too loud. We were visiting from out of town, and wanted to actually be able to talk to our friends. This is an issue at a a lot of bars/pubs. If I was in town again, I’d go back. ***Another important thing, the bathroom was clean.*** Definitely recommended!

I’d been here about 5 years ago. I had bad BBQ and I think I found a mouse dropping on the table… so I never ventured back again. However, they’ve undergone a renovation and change of ownership. It’s gone from an old man bar to a nice neighborhood bar and grill. We were in the Grandview area(after a nice dinner at Z Cucina di Spirito) and wanted a mellow bar to have a few drink, so we tried the Knotty pine. The bartender was quite friendly and attentive. Prices on the drinks were reasonable and the new décor is a big step up from the old dank«Moe’s Tavern» look. Only one person in our group had food, and it looked good. And from my scoping out of the menu, I’d try them again next time I was in the area.
